she's not done a bad one for me, and she changes style a bit too. she has a newish one out too which is again different and quite lush. 'Sunset in the Blue' .. not sure yet how much i like it but time will tell.

I managed to get all the Twisted reish's, but I've hesitated over the Sony releases.
This release is very good, they have been delayed I believe due to ensuring good sq levels. The vinyl background noise is near silent, very good, and great dynamics.

Such a good album... Back in the 70s, my mate's brother, who worked at Laskys, would play "They're taking her children away" through the shop's largest speakers whenever they were inundated with mums'n'kids.
I re-bought this (NM vinyl) a couple of years ago from a shop in Poole. The guy behind the counter said "Ooh, good choice, my favourite track is "Walk on the Wild Side" :doh: I really couldn't be bothered, I just paid him and left.

IMO one of the worse Joni Mitchell LPs. I find Pastorious's fretless bass playing overated, and Mitchell' open-tuned guitar playing grating and annoying. In fact the only things about this album I like are Mitchell's paintings, which illustrate the gatefold sleeve.

...and it's pretty good, though having never heard the studio album (:eek: yeah I know) I have no point of reference. Super silent vinyl, excellent SQ. Reviews I've read suggest it differs very little to the studio album, so it may just be one for Dan completists only.

Yes, yours is the original cover. The cover that most people associate with that album is the bathroom with graffiti all over it but, that was only used on later CD and vinyl versions so yours is a little rarer. :thumbsup:

Ooh I am so happy, you could slap me with a tickling stick and I would not grin more. This turned up today after waiting over 6 months, my original pre-order on Amazon.com for it was cancelled by Amazon customer support as the system would not take payment automatically, then I could not re-order it, eventually 2 weeks later they set it up so that it could be ordered on amazon.co.uk instead.
I already know it from streaming it, but it is absolutely superb on vinyl and in this re-mixed form, it is one of those classic albums that will stand the test of time IMO.

The Eva Cassidy is a particular favourite, great recording and a diverse range of songs delivered superbly by the great late Eva Cassidy. Mary Black is sadly in my opion not appreciated enough outside of the folk music scene, some great songs, arrangements and her great vocals. As for Dame Shirley well if only ever great singer sounded this good at 72 years of age ! Rickie Lee Jones really needs no introduction. Now Diana Krall, oh my god so talented, quite how Elvis Costello, pulled her is still a mystery ! Jennifer Warnes is perhaps to many the girl who sang that duet with Joe Cocker but seriously, take a listen to Famous Blue Raincoat and The Hunter and discover just how good she is. Last but by no means least the awesome Christine Collister if you only buy one album then Love Is A Strange Hotel should be on your shelf.

The bloke in the Kii room at Cranage used The Hu to demo the Kii Three speakers. When i told my mate about it he lent me this, and I've finally got round to playing it. Described as 'Folk Metal', this bunch of Mongolian throat singers do some serious bass which will test the abilities of any system.
Unfortunately it doesn't make my speakers sound like Kii's little wonders, but it's part way there :)
I don't know how you can read the text on that cover, but the album's called "The Gereg".

I have all of her albums up to 2001, and it would be difficult for me to state a favourite. But give that, her eponymous album would be a likely contender.
