Just listening to this on Roon at MartinT's suggestion, I am sure I heard it many years ago, it is very good, it was recommended to me, reminds me of King Crimson, aspects of ELP, and Yes, quite brilliant. I will also listen to the first two albums, I see they have only released a total of 36 albums.

As we approach the 1st anniversary of the passing of the god father DJ of chill-out, Jose Padilla, who sadly passed away last October aged just 64, I've been working my way through his back catalogue of Cafe Del Mar compilations as well as his own albums. Currently on Volume 13, but in my opinion the pinnacle of his curated work is the triple 25th Anniversary album - fantastic, if you like this sort of thing. You should be able to pick this up for less than 3 quid - if you like laid back beats and it's not in your collection it should be. :)

Well here's clear proof that I haven't got through the whole of "Shut Up..." I have just discovered hiding at the bottom of the box a 7" ep catchy titled "Variations on the Carlos Santana Secret Chord Progression". Didn't know that was there. Oh, the shame! I'll get to that one tomorrow.

Next up is Zappa's "Shut up and Play Yer Guitar", though I doubt I'll get through all six sides tonight...This was a Japanese recording, recorded live to the master disk (thus the Direct Disk logo and the Direct Step title) as I recall.

I think it has been repressed more recently, so you might find a copy of it somewhere.

ELPs Pictures at an Exhibition was the first album I bought as a youngster..!

Cool, could you not use your connection to get some free concert tickets? :) I saw his current band Spatial AKA Orchestra) on Jools Holland a few years ago, and quite liked it. I read somewhere that they are a tribute to Sun Ra.

Picked this one up in Lyme Regis yesterday on a lovely day out with Sue, not cheap £18 but they sell for more. I am gradually collecting early original Steppenwolf pressings, generally they were very well pressed so as long as they have been looked after then they sound great. This one is NM and musically is very good, some tracks are reminiscent of "Monster" which is a fav of mine.
