The Technics - SU V460 is a sleeper too - for £10 :) Very Very Happy...in silver - looks gorgeous in the rack....

Brother Cain is a band from the mid 90's that like so many others, came, rocked, and faded into obscurity. But this is by far their best effort! And it rocks! Plus it's a very good recording, it showcases my CD player's strengths. Two guitars trade leads back and forth constantly, not Southern, but decidedly American. Their first album isn't bad either. Did I mention it ROCKS!

I always remember thinking that Scary Monsters was Bowie's last great album and that this one had its moments but was too patchy to be considered a classic.

Just dug out the vinyl for the first time in yonks and while the musicianship is superb, I don't like him singing falsetto and I think I was right all along : some great songs and some filler, but still a fun listen :)

Indeed Andy. Would have liked it all on vinyl too but its a bit rich for my blood these days. Remember having chance of it at £60 too. Whattamistakatomakea! Lol ... got lot of his stuff though. Just shoving tracks through river22 now for comparison. Think its better than 21.

I love this album and lots of vangelis stuff like the china album and the 'Chung kuo' track. Also the voices album, oceanic album and the best of 'odyssey' album. Vangelis is a pioneer of the early electronic genre. He is like a classical master trained in the use of keyboards and synths and samples. I wonder what music Mozart would have been making if he were alive today with today's technology.

Really looking forward to the new Bladerunner film. Be interesting to see how Jóhann Jóhannsson scores it. I'm quite a fan of his work but Vangelis is a hard act to follow.

- The World Is A ghetto

The whole LP has 6 tracks and all are very good strong musical tracks
well worth a punt, mine I bought myself in 1977 and is still in good playable condition and very quiet too.

Thanks for that. I'm a big kraftwerk fan (tour de France, autobahn etc) and being a huge snooker fan and player myself, I was watching a documentary about Steve Davis' dj career. In it he played a neu track and i was a bit transfixed. This is maybe a modern interpretation track I think but I might be wrong, but watching and listening to this track i was enthusiastic as I'd never heard of neu before. I may find this track is the only one I like of neu but such is the individuality of music..... Ps the neu track Steve plays is the first one on this video.

Agreed Mike. Found the tipping point with this record where I just 'got it'. I reckon some 'Found Sound' in Northern Sweden will more than suffice however. Where in Sweden by the way? I used to go skiing in
Tänndalen when I lived in Copenhagen some years ago. The drive up was stunning.

Saw them on this tour at the Glasgow Apollo what a night, the top balcony was bouncing up and down, I thought it might collapse. They knew how to rock and entertain that's for sure.

Saw them on this tour at Knebworth 1992, first live televised event on Sky 1 other than sport it was. A great evening with great weather for an outdoor event, wife and I even managed to see ourselves when we watched the rerun 😁
