No, you're poorer because you've bought almost every record in the country :ner: I'm guessing that over the years you've spent way more on music (records, going to gigs) than you have on hifi. And that's how it should be imo :respect:
I remember years ago reading a magazine article descibing folk who spent hundreds, nay thousands on their system with only Love over Gold and Dark Side of the Moon to play on it!

Makes me wonder what justification there is for some of the vinyl prices though. Like Shpongle for example... prices probably linked to rarity, as I'm sure Shpongle won't be getting rich off it. Vinyl is vinyl, cardboard is cardboard, so why not press more and reach a wider audience?

Listening to record 2 of this one, it is pretty well recorded, some of it is a bit odd as there are Japanese outakes between tracks and some over the top, but still a good album.

Its an overlooked PF album, consider a bit of a filler when released, some live stuff of what theyd already done and a record of weird new stuff. If you listen carefully to record 2 you can hear where they where going next with Obscured by Clouds and Meddle. There are elements of both in there imo. Anyway its as good one.

He suggested we streamed a Yello track from ToY, a more recent album by them, and I was instantly hooked, thanks Alan. I think this could be expensive as I see they have done 17 albums:eek:.

Alan played "TOY" for me when I visited a couple of years ago, and I had to get a copy straight away. Worth getting a copy Adrian, it's a double album and all of it's good :) Top notch production too. Another one worth checking out is "One Second", with Shirley Bassey doing guest vocals on one track (The Rhythm Divine) which I'm sure you will have heard.

an interesting album spinning now, I was given this with about 30 others from a lady who is moving house and is clearing out, its mint. On the cover it says Chuck Berry was visiting the studio to see his manager and heard Bo Diddley recording in the studio below, so he went down walked in picked up a spare guitar and they started playing together, the engineers put the tape on, it sounds great.

This Morning, always had a soft spot for Status Quo, first band I saw live at Southampton Top Rank when I was 14 (1972), they were promoting the just released 'Piledriver" album. This album is an OK I'd say most track are 6/10, with the a couple 7.5/10, it was a difficult time then with the punk scene

For me he always seemed to be the pop star that never quite made it big like Elton John, one thing about Gilbert O'Sulivan he is a very good singer/songwriter in his own right.

This particular album is a must if you like Funk/Soul, the Stylistics were a very classy act that produced some beautiful songs and were always well produced, this album has all there classics and hit #1 in the UK in 1975, not surprising really.
