Latest release from my favourite band from north of the border. Been following these guys since I first heard their demos on Steve Lamaq almost 20 years ago. Indeed I love them so much I'll even forgive the frankly atrocious production on this outing.

Sigue Sigue Sputnik - Flaunt it
30 years on from all the hype I'm loving this album as much as the day I heard it. The band may be finished but what remains is an excellent piece of Giorgio Moroder produced electronic pop which was way ahead of its time in terms of their approach to sampling and production.
Having been too young for punk, they were my sex pistols or clash. Parent annoying, loud, outrageous and a bit genius I reckon. In 1985/6 they sounded like the future and for a sci-fi obsessed adolescent were all I'd ever wanted.

Btw, do you know of John Smith? He rather reminds me of RL, vocally. This guy is super-talented and oh, so soulful. Check out his rather clever use of the guitar here……

Awesome! If that doesn’t give you goosebumps, I don’t know what will. Barry and I, along with a mutual friend, went to see him play live in Wrexham last month. He was superb! :)

Very good indeed. Thanks to my Google chromecast I'm enjoying a selection of his YouTube vids on my system now. That first one you posted is actually really great sound quality reflecting the close mic'd acoustic performance really well.
I tend not to watch many YouTube vids on my tablet, preffering to playlist them and put them up on chromecast for a proper listen.

That tune is fabulous, mix of a few dance vibes I like - thanks for the heads up.
That form of Dance music is called Tech/House. Like prog, Dance has many pigeon holes..A good label for that is 'Lieb detail' label

Really nice for late-night listening. You must have heard her singing 'Killing Me Softly'. This disc contains a number of classics, such as 'Sweet Georgia Brown', 'Prelude To a Kiss' and 'Tenderly'.
If you like that sort of thing then I can recommend Natalie Cole (Nat King Cole's daughter) 'Unforgettable – With Love'.

Straight ahead rock music with obvious Lizzy undertones and nowt wrong with that. Saw them last month and would love to see them again... class live act, but then they've had loads of practice.. :D

Gotta be Honest Andr'e I likes The Who a lot, and I have a copy of Tommy, but to be honest a lot of Tommy strikes me as pretentious drivel, (pinball wizard is a dessert island disc..)
Next was their only album I thought I wanted to go the expense on (an I'm pleased to say it was worth it)

Live at Leeds my favourite live album of all time.
As a bassist I continually stand in awe at the way John Enwistle keeps them all together yet makes it all his own. Truly the sound of a band right at the top of their game. None of the studio albums really do JE justice and you've got to hear his performance live to really understand what a unique musician he was.
