Recommended by someone who’s taste I trust, this Japanese 'prog' group is heavily influenced by the likes of Pink Floyd. Two long tracks, neither of which successfully use the time to fully develop. A bit of a disappointment – luckily I didn’t have to pay the full price.

George Duke - I love The Blues was the first George Duke LP I bought.
Never regretted it either, was a risk at the time, but bought on the recommendation of the local record store. Fernleys Records of Middlesbrough.

Absolutely! So sad that he died so young - just imagine what he would have achieved if he survived the car accident.

Mind you he did manage to produce quite a few recordings. I have a few (as below screenshot) but always on the look out for more. Charity shops sometimes produce results.

Mind you he did manage to produce quite a few recordings. I have a few (as below screenshot) but always on the look out for more. Charity shops sometimes produce results.

Seems many modern pressings are of dubious quality. (no, I don't need loads of folk telling me about their latest wonderful quality album :))

It's rather ironic that many superb pressing came along in the eighties, when vinyl was going through a considerable lull in popularity (and almost died out?). Possibly I guess, because those buying records then were record playing diehards (like me at the time), who were more discerning and demanding of good record quality.

Kidding aside, no doubt the new latest vinyl version of Dark Side is very good, they really went all out getting it just right. The emotional content of Gig in the Sky is powerful stuff!
