Yep, Rock Bottom is a masterpiece, so difficult to follow, the rest of his output AFAIK didn't reach such heights, but the follow up on the same label - Virgin - is still a fine LP, and whereas 'Rock Bottom' is definitely an LP for night time listening, 'Ruth is stranger than Richard' suits the morning well!

Yes, the Ash Ra Tempel is silly money on LP, hence the CD. I was super lucky with the Cape Verde one, bought on a whim unopened from a charity shop recently for £1. Great stuff as well.

Correct use of soap is their LP by a long shot. Seek out Davd Sylvians solo work too, very 'audiophile', quite spatial, so lots of timbres and whispered vocal work!

There is only Tin Drum after Gentlemen Take Polaroids. There is the live album Oil On Canvas (try to get the remastered vrsn of that as the original is a little dull). Another album they did was called Rain Tree Crow; this was the original members of Japan but it was an album not released as a 'Japan' album. The album has a sort of ambient/tribal vibe; I quite like it but, I cant speak for you so, give it a listen.

David Sylvians solo albums are worth a listen, especially "Brilliant Trees" which I think is superb!!!! I saw him live on that album tour at B/ham Alexandra Theatre - great !!!!!!

There is only Tin Drum after Gentlemen Take Polaroids. There is the live album Oil On Canvas (try to get the remastered vrsn of that as the original is a little dull). Another album they did was called Rain Tree Crow; this was the original members of Japan but it was an album not released as a 'Japan' album. The album has a sort of ambient/tribal vibe; I quite like it but, I cant speak for you so, give it a listen.

David Sylvians solo albums are worth a listen, especially "Brilliant Trees" which I think is superb!!!! I saw him live on that album tour at B/ham Alexandra Theatre - great !!!!!!

Despite several Journey frontmen since Perry, the most successful has to be the Filipino, Arnel Pineda, whos vocals are uncannily similar to Perry.

Street Talk is a great representation of Perry's solo work a US Double Platinum album and includes the great "Oh Sherrie" a Bilboard no.3 written for his then girlfriend Sherrie Swafford, along with the catchy "Foolish Heart" plus "She's Mine" and "Strung Out" etc,

I was on the sofa listening, and one track in particular stood out - I was too lazy to get up and see what it was called, so I Shazam'd it with my phone. And it was called... Canton! So yes, fully agree.
