The first copies IIRC had no colour in them, but few could resist the urge to go at it with crayons or felt pens. Used to sell for 99p, I bet they cost a bit more now, especially 'not coloured in' examples.

I picked this up yesterday in a 2nd hand shop for £5 and it is mint. I had heard of them but never listened to them. An interesting Canadian group that influenced Marilon Manson and Nine Inch Nails. If you can get your head around the shouty aggressive vocals then it is actually pretty good, the bass and drums are pretty frightening. I had a read up on the album and also the lyrics. Generally the songs warn of humanities stupidity destroying the earth and using up its resources and over-populating the world, and probable self-destruction. Quite visionary for and American band back in 1990. Shame they were not taken notice of.

Its one of those albums, there's an orange label Elektra on the shelves and a recent 180gm. I'm also very fond of their "out here" I have the difficult to find CD and a US Blue Thumb but I do crave an Original UK Harvest. ( I crave a lot of those UK Harvests :D)

This is an extremely interesting album from T-Bone Burnett, it is the first in a trilogy. Primarily electronic sounds and loops, with bass and drums, which give an eerie and hypnotic sound. It is well worth a listen, I would give it at least a couple of listens before dismissing it. It is available in the UK at a reasonable price on Discogs.

I once had this neighbour, he and his wife were a bit strange. They bought this dog, a German Shepherd, who may have been gay, or perhaps just bi. He wanted to name the dog Syndrome as it was always humping people, but his missus, who was usually odder than him, put her foot down saying the name was in very poor taste.
He taught the dog to jump over the five foot back yard wall, said it was the smartest dog he ever had, and he used to work with dogs in the army. One day while they were at work the dog jumped over the wall and was knocked down and killed by a car. Some folk really shouldn't be allowed pets. :(

Well Pierre De Grenoble posted this last week and I had a vague recollection of it. So I ordered a re-release on Arkama and what a superb piece of Rock it is, I suppose it's on the edge of psychedelic. An excellent listen.

Another I picked up at the charity shop. Not sure about this one, its maybe not Willie's finest moment, the album is a collection covers of famous songs. Some I find a bit bizarre coming from Willie, they are all beautifully played and recorded and inoffensive, but it all seems a bit too laid back to me. Having said that it is included in his best top 10 albums, so what do I know.

I never thought that this lived up to the potential of the 1st album. I only have it on CD. good to see you liked the first enough to track down a copy. there's more than a few albums on my shelves that are the result of a forum post. Shpongle and Solstafir to name but two... :D
Second albums invariably fail to live up to debut albums, and it's not difficult to understand why. Debut albums are usually a culmination of a few years of work and will contain the best results of those years. Second albums are written and issued within a year or less from the first, so it's not surprising they are often inferior and don't live up the standard of the debut album.

Strangely much maligned album
I didn't realise it was much maligned. A staple of mine since I bought a bootleg copy on cassette in Majorca spring 1990 - don't have that any more but I did repent my sins of copyright by buying kosher CD & vinyl copies eventually! I rather like the follow up Auberge too, which I recall getting from the Britannia record club a year or two later. Might give that a spin now, actually! :)
