Marco said the same! The truth is I buy a lot of stuff from charity shops that might be of interest. I hadn't heard of Kosheen before, so I didn't know what to expect - but I liked what I heard; rather than researching beforehand (on say Discogs) and probably put off by the description of the 'genre'.

I have an absurdly wide musical tastes: anything from Lonnie Donegan 'skiffle' to the avant-garde jazz of Ornette Coleman and of Alice Coltrane; from English folk music to Tibetan Buddhist chant, ....

But I can't get my head around the Dada and surrealism of 'The Sound of Music'. :D

My original copy (bought in 1972) did of course, but not this one which I got secondhand a few years ago. I did look out for a copy with knickers and also without the "legs" of the desk pulled out, but prices ranged from :eek: to :eek::eek::eek:

I also have a CD copy of 'Let it Bleed' which I dislike as it is definitely a re-mix and to my ears is not as good as the original LP. Not a "vinylista" by any means but with these two titles I prefer the vinyl version (original, not remastered).

Yes it has got Being Boiled on it. Its a great album!! I bought it when it came out on vinyl (as I did with most music) back in the day and I still have it - just a mint as the day I bought it. And I have to say it was worth the wait. Superb versions of classic Zep songs, clearly engineered and produced by people who want to make it the best it can be :) I can see this becoming a bit of a reference recording, in the same league as Hugh Masekela's "Hope".

My only criticism is the 3-disc 45rpm format - with just two tracks per side you spend nearly as much time turning them over as listening to them. I'm sure the four tracks on disc three could have gone onto the other two discs no problem. I can only think that they were looking to maximise its perceived value. And cheap it ain't. Just glad I got this half price. Result!

Being Boiled my favourite Human League track by a country mile :) I remember the first time I heard it - it came on the sound system just ahead of Pixies' coming on stage around 1989. Thought it was Depeche Mode! :doh:

It was an instant hit with me and the rest of their releases were added to the collection fairly quickl

Courtesy of the internet, I have just listened to the new Tears For Fears Album (2CD Deluxe Edtn) and I have decided that (in my opinion) Tears For Fears have progressed to the "we've grown old now" kind of band and have done an album for tired depressed old farts who just want to ponder about life whilst falling to sleep!!!!! There is only one song on the whole album that has the slightest bit of life in it and that is "End Of Night." I would put this album in the same category as all of Adele's albums - BORING!!!!!!!!

Well, it must have been, as its drawn a response from you ;).

As I've said before, music is an art form and, as such, it is subjective; its only my opinion, I could say that I've put myself in a box with my own statement as I'm not exactly young but, I don't want to associate myself with an old outlook etc. and the feeling I got from listening to that album was that it was from a band who sound depressed and not full of life and good ideas like they used to be. The sound of the songs is a bit like Adele's depressing kind of rubbish - that's just how I see it.

Maybe I'm a miserable old GIT (I've put this bit in bold aswell) and I suppose I've got to wait for the replies that totally agree with me slagging myself off :lol:
