Back to one of my favourite Genres with this one, its more Psychedelic Rock IMO, there is some lovely instrumental part which are very light and airy, with some great soaring violin in places.

Amon Düül are a great band, considered to be one of the founders of Krautrock, Dance of the Lemmings is a great listen.

Had this CD for a few years now, listened to disc 2 this evening...it's not bad at all
Never really listened to Pink Floyd, except The Wall which I'm sick of hearing as the radio plays it all the time.
Must give their other stiff a good listen too.
Also, as a side note, I noticed that the CD was made in Australia, this is nine times out of ten bad for quality, so I might have to compare it to a different source somehow. :)

Isn’t there a web cam site somewhere that constantly records people walking over the crossing in Beatles style? Hundreds a day visit that zebra crossing.

Great album by Motion, a musical project / fusion of reggae, jazz, soul, funk, blues.

Featuring Aswad original/founding member and superb bass player, George Oban who left the group early on to pursue and continue his reggae fusion, musical aspirations.

Motion also feature Aswad's drummer, Angus 'Drummie' Gaye and the smooth, velvety and lovely vocals of Wolete Miriam.

An excellent album, still under the radar for the larger part, been into this one since it landed in 1981 - Grab a copy if you can, you wont regret it, and as for that sleeve/cover picture... worth buying for that alone - beautiful, like the music on the vinyl inside it :)

Indeed. It's one of those weird albums; if you chat to someone who knows the album, one can discuss Jack Atsidakos' car crash and know full well what is meant. If one chats to someone who only knows KLF's big hits (and hits they were of course), then it's a mystery, unheard album.

I personally think it's their best one, the real KLF so to speak.

Bill Drummond was such a weird influence, but his knowledge of the music industry led him to write 'The Manual (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Manual)'. Now I remember 'Bring Me Edelweiss' by 'Edelweiss' hitting the number one spot in the UK. Bill Drummond quite clearly knew what he was talking about. :lol:

I seem to have my Goldring 2500 set up just right for this record, it sounds superb, great detail and dynamics. I know some do not like the PF recent re-issues but I think they are actually pretty good, at least this one is.

i think we talked about this album recently Adrian - although it is my favourite PF album I have been a bit disappointed with the SQ of my recent pressing. Of course the slow ponderous bass and all-but-missing finer details might be down to me being a bit mutton jeff, I should seek out a decent quality early pressing for comparison to be sure.

Oh by the way Adrian, thanks again re. the platforms - they're finally in place, I fitted spikes under them and got blocks of that Diversitech fancy rubber between them and the speakers. Too early to be sure, but the bass seems to be a bit less in quantity, a bit more in speed and tunefulness. I'll Whatsapp a pic to you.

If your pressing is the same release as mine then I noticed it is quite thick, so maybe you are getting too much bass as the VTA may be being altered too much as a result, in other words with a 180 or 200gm record the arm is slopping to much down at the rear for your cartirdge. I think we have discussed before the Ortofon 2M Black whilst being a great cartridge it is known for being very fussy about set up. I think Robbiegong on here is a bit of an expert with them.

Might be worth trying the speaker spike instead of the Diversitech pads at some point as well.

Yes I have thought for some time that record thickness could be a factor with VTF, I just haven't yet mustered the necessary bottle to start tinkering with it! But one day soon I will bite the bullet.

I don't think I can use the spikes instead of the pads as they are rather long, and would create too big an air gap (which should ideally be around 15mm), but I do have some other "spikes" which are actually blunt and are much shorter. I think they would work fine. I'll give the existing set up a few days with some familiar music, then make the change :)

Not strictly pure classical, but aspects could be considered traditional Chinese, mixed with Jazz and modern orchestra. This is a wonderful recording IMO, stunning musicality and superb dynamics, if you can get you hands on a copy it is well worth it.
