Great album, the same stuff they did at '93 Glastonbury. Strange really, I could say I've good memories of this, but I can only remember about ten minutes of it :)

Are they in good nick?
Not too bad, didn't bother inspecting the pound ones, at that price I'll take a chance, (they were all in inner sleeves) but the others were in good shape. I'll clean them all when I get chance.

I'd forgotten how good this record is. The poetry of her lyrics stands up IMO to those of Joni Mitchell and of Suzanne Vega.

If you like something different, then try and get a copy on CD or LP(very hard), it's a HiFi testers dream album and great music, a mix of traditional with modern.

I prefer the remastered version - the inter-track voices are clearer and make more sense. Also for the track 'On the Run', the airport announcements are much more intelligible.

I was never quite sure about this particular version on vinyl, but now I have made a few changes to my system and got more/better resolution it actually sounds pretty good. I will have to try out the Meddle copy I have as well.

IMO, the remaster is much better than the original. The inter-track patter is clearer, as is the background 'Tannoy' announcements for the track 'On the Run'.
It's not usual for me to prefer 'remasters', but for DSOTM I make an exception.

It seems to have slightly more depth to it n the mid range at times which is good. Initially I was not sure about Echoes as I felt it had lost some ambience but with the Krell and PRO9 speakers it now seems reasonably balanced. It does sound slightly differen IMO, I think most would enjoy either, and think they were the same.

I used to love Mungo Jerry in the early 70's, had most of their singles. I bet this album would be a trip down memory lane. You never hear them on the radio these days
It's a good album and sound is too. Some great numbers, only missing midnight special
Japan... Clannad... Quadrophenia... some awesome albums there Adrian. I find I listen less and less to my old favourites (I blame Spotify!) might have to start doing something about that... :)

Hi Alex,
Yes I do tend to listen to the old classics, but I also listen some new stuff. The Mars Volta, Tool, OTT, New Sound of London, Yello (old but still going), and few others. I find new musicians tricky, its often a reinvention of what already been but not as fresh, but sometimes not. Jazz can be easier for new stuff though,.
I am always open to new recommendations, I do miss the album club.

Volume 2 is pretty good, got that right mix of ambience with a very good live recording, suspect the used the same engineer on both.
I was supposed to be seeing them live tomorrow evening in Honiton of all places, but still not feeling right after this covid shit, so passed the tickets on[emoji853]

Take care Adrian - I learnt this evening that the daughter of my nearest neighbour has Covid, though being young hopefully won't be badly affected, if at all.
