I think this Virus most likley an old Animal virus that picked up some human DNA & mutated into a whole new Virus.

22 cases in Suffolk out of 760k odd. Chances of getting it are still very low, but who knows. Just stay at home and chill, people. For the first time in history we can save the world by sitting in front of the stereo, computer or TV and doing nothing. It really isn’t difficult, is it? Please don’t fuck it up.

Useful Data from elsewhere: (SOURCE: JOHN HOPKINS)
excellent summary to avoid contagion

The virus is not a living organism, but a protein molecule (DNA) covered by a protective layer of lipid (fat), which, when absorbed by the cells of the ocular, nasal or buccal mucosa, changes their genetic code. (mutation) and convert them into aggressor and multiplier cells.
Since the virus is not a living organism but a protein molecule, it is not killed, but decays on its own. The disintegration time depends on the temperature, humidity and type of material where it lies.
The virus is very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat. That is why any soap or detergent is the best remedy, because the foam CUTS the FAT (that is why you have to rub so much: for 20 seconds or more, to make a lot of foam). By dissolving the fat layer, the protein molecule disperses and breaks down on its own.
HEAT melts fat; this is why it is so good to use water above 25 degrees Celsius for washing hands, clothes and everything. In addition, hot water makes more foam and that makes it even more useful.
Alcohol or any mixture with alcohol over 65% DISSOLVES ANY FAT, especially the external lipid layer of the virus.
Any mix with 1 part bleach and 5 parts water directly dissolves the protein, breaks it down from the inside.
Oxygenated water helps long after soap, alcohol and chlorine, because peroxide dissolves the virus protein, but you have to use it pure and it hurts your skin.
NO BACTERICIDE SERVES. The virus is not a living organism like bacteria; they cannot kill what is not alive with anthobiotics, but quickly disintegrate its structure with everything said.
NEVER shake used or unused clothing, sheets or cloth. While it is glued to a porous surface, it is very inert and disintegrates only between 3 hours (fabric and porous), 4 hours (copper, because it is naturally antiseptic; and wood, be
cause it removes all the moisture and does not let it peel off and disintegrates). ), 24 hours (cardboard), 42 hours (metal) and 72 hours (plastic). But if you shake it or use a feather duster, the virus molecules float in the air for up to 3 hours, and can lodge in your nose.
The virus molecules remain very stable in external cold, or artificial as air conditioners in houses and cars. They also need moisture to stay stable, and especially darkness. Therefore, dehumidified, dry, warm and bright environments will degrade it faster.
UV LIGHT on any object that may contain it breaks down the virus protein. For example, to disinfect and reuse a mask is perfect. Be careful, it also breaks down collagen (which is protein) in the skin, eventually causing wrinkles and skin cancer.
The virus CANNOT go through healthy skin.
Vinegar is NOT useful because it does not break down the protective layer of fat.
NO SPIRITS, NOR VODKA (http://www.audioquest.com/hdmi/vodka), serve. The strongest vodka is 40% alcohol, and you need 65%.
LISTERINE IF IT SERVES! It is 65% alcohol.
The more confined the space, the more concentration of the virus there can be. The more open or naturally ventilated, the less.
This is super said, but you have to wash your hands before and after touching mucosa, food, locks, knobs, switches, remote control, cell phone, watches, computers, desks, TV, etc. And when using the bathroom.
You have to HUMIDIFY HANDS DRY from so much washing them, because the molecules can hide in the micro cracks. The thicker the moisturizer, the better. * Also keep your NAILS SHORT so that the virus does not hide there

Virus are a basically a parasite. They are hopeless without an Hoast.

As long as you are a perfectly fit person & this virus does not have the ability to combat your bodies immune system like say the HIV virus does, it should clear in the same amount of time that say a flu would/ Like i said its possible for an Animal Virus to pick up human DNA hence creating a new Virus. What we need to see is people overcoming it so i guess its just a waiting game..

Im 100% all for a total lock down of the country & the supply of Rations on everything, close shops completely. way too many breaches of safety going on. Be entertaining to see how snobs deal with it.. Also those that would not dream of eating at home

Hopefully a whole new perspective on how this country is run & peoples behaviour make things worse can be eradicated in the future.

This is an instance im having trouble with

For example:
Im not allowed to work. The wife is, she works for the in an essential job exposed to the virus 12 hours a day. Take for instance shes not been tested, there is a big risk she will contract it & pass it onto me & others she works with. if i, myself were also working & i contracted it, exactly the same scenario. Going out doing a shop, there is a chance of spreading it more. Testing in my view is of paramount importance.. i believe a total closing of food stores employing ration packs instead.

I feel sorry for American people. They have a nightmare coming!

Their healthcare system is geared to help only until each patient's insurer says 'enough' and further cover is denied! And that's for those with a heathcare plan, which many don't have.

The cities are overcrowded, so folk will not be able to stay apart and the infection will run wild! The death toll will be enormous and of course having a selfish, narcissist, capitalist loony in charge will be an insurmountable hindrance.

The dead will be piled in the streets!!

A bit over the top I think. They have County Hospitals where you can receive free treatment. It's drugs that are not covered by insurance and since there is no vaccine for this that's irrelevant.

And their lockdown seems to be going a lot better than ours judging by the footage from places like Manhattan.

Lol - love it:D

For starters, we've got enough food here (dry, frozen and in tins), regardless of anything else, to last us 6 months, as we've always kept a sizeable larder of such things [remember old-fashioned larders in homes before we relied on supermarkets, 24/7?] and which will continue to be replenished while food shops are open, so we won't need any food parcels. If that happens, we'll give ours to neighbours with families to feed, or OAPs.

I don't believe that food parcels are being handed out in Italy (or Spain), despite the seriousness of the situation there, folks still go out to shop, so I'm sure that'll be the case here too, until things get back to normal.

That's only true up to a point. There are public hospitals, and many of the doctors and other staff in them are doing a lot of work right now.

In the past well before this current problem I know of several people who had good treatment in public hospitals, including one patient who had a problem (heart attack?) just outside a public hospital, and was treated there. She had insurance, and could have been moved to a private hospital, but that didn't happen until it was decided it was safe to move her. The decision was that if she went straight to the hospital she was "entitled" to by the insurance, she might have died before she got there.

Right now I think many hospitals, both private and public in the US will be under severe strain, as indeed some in the NHS may be shortly.

Something i have thought about. Is it better to stay indoors and hide from it or catch it, Recover & maybe build an immunity to it [If you are young & healthy] cos id have though you are gonna be locked away for a long time if not in fear of catching it further down the line. Been proven that people are recovering.

dont think you want to deliberately catch it... If you do and your youngish and fit etc then you have a good chance it wont be too much different to the cold, but with some it can become serious... trouble is no-one knows who will get hit hard in the younger population.

One thing I've heard that's important when self-isolating is to expose yourself to plenty of LIGHT and HEAT from the sun, as that prevents the virus from breeding. Don't just stay cooped up indoors.

So, whilst the weather is nice folks, you should get out into your garden (if you have one), and sit in isolation, either by yourself or those you're living with, and take in some rays!

Here in New Zealand we have home isolation Level 4 for everyone occurring in a little under an hour from now.

The model of this is essential services remain open supermarkets, mail deliveries rubbish collection, petrol service stations, radio and broadcasting some building hardware stores and pharmacies
and access to banking remain open, but every other shop must close . This also involves civil defence and police
being visible to assist the public.

We are allowed out to walk dogs and exercise, but must abide by 2 metre social distancing at all times,
Also a social bubble is encouraged where two people who agree to be faithful to their bubble partner may
meet, but are to social distance. We are also encouraged to help others, such as the elderly, similarly with social distancing rules
applying.

The hope here in NZ is to stop COVID 19 full stop, with the country at the end of 30 days from now hopefully able to
slowly return to normal, and defeat COVID 19 Here are the present cases, showing origins:

You guys seem to be coping well with CV and so far have a relatively low amount of registered cases, and long may that continue. I guess it benefits being at the other end of the world! Virus are not that big a problem if you let then run the course in isolation, depending on if you are healthy enough for your immune system to fight it. The danger is a Virus that near enough bombards your immune system, ie: HIV

Hi Chris,

Good to see you're well! How are things in your immediate area, and with your family?:)

You guys seem to be coping well with CV and so far have a relatively low amount of registered cases, and long may that continue. I guess it benefits being at the other end of the world! I wish you well in being able to stop the virus in the timescale you've outlined. There's no chance of that happening here.

Keep your fingers crossed for us here that things don't get as bad as predicted and stay safe, mate!

Marco.

The local area seems pretty happy complying with the restrictions, with good community feel that its the right, and necessary thing to do, to be in lock down.

When I'm out walking Oscar my dog - not that there are too many people where i live - we each move appropriately to be distancing. Family in Australia are
together with my Mum, and similarly now in lock down, but we keep in daily contact on email.

I think New Zealands approach can be learned from, and put into practice now - there. Here is our resources web page https://covid19.govt.nz/
if anyone wants to put into practice what I am sure, will be very necessary there.

When in isolation its a great time to be listening to music and enjoying hifi , and listening to radio

Yes all the best to you and family, we will get through this.:)

Cheers / Chris

I have started preparing for a long haul on this, and to be honest finding the process quite uplifting:

Sorting out raised beds - sprouting broccoli seeds in, various herbs sorted out, starting off tomatoes and chillies
Patio pressure washed.

Dug out a couple of pressure barrels for brewing - haven't brewed for over twenty years, so pleased that barrels are still in good nick, need sterilising but plastic still seems robust. woodfords Nog, and St Peters cream stout kits delivered today.

Donald Russel meats arriving Monday, hopefully, so Kadai bbq cleaned up and ready for use.
New coffee beans have been despatched.

We have been very lucky with the weather allowing lots of time in the garden, imagine how much worse this "lockdown" would have been mentally if the weather had been dull and wet - small blessings:)

My experience is that council houses built in the fifties were pretty solid affairs. I guess the councils didn't want to be going back fixing things afterwards. If yours is newer than that it may be different.

Me too, and bodged jobs even more! Which is why when I want jobs like that doing, I always hire professionals and pay what's necessary.

I know you're pretty handy (and also a perfectionist), so no doubt the jobs you do will be done to a high standard, but one of my pet hates are men who insist on tackling DIY ['cos it's a 'manly' thing to do], but are UTTER SHITE at it (although they'd never admit that), and so end up making a ROYAL ARSE of things or creating a series of 'eyesores', which then require great expense to be fixed by a professional!!

Got a mate like that, his old man was really handy so he thought that meant he was, just by genetics. You would go round his house and stuff like doorknobs would come away in your hand. The doors fit so badly to the floor you could limbo under them. One time we were sat watching the footie and there's an almighty crash from the kitchen. The cupboard he had put up had come off the wall, full of crockery and glasses. I've been there gone midnight holding one end of a kitchen counter while he hacks at it with a saw. No measuring, all by eye.

I totally agree with the last bit! We're the complete opposite, though. Time doesn't matter one iota, as long as the end result is worth it!

Took us AGES to design our bespoke kitchen from scratch the way we wanted it (plus agree on colours and other small details), and even longer to get it correctly executed by the various professionals involved in installing it!! Del, in particular, is a nightmare in that respect, especially if she doesn't get EXACTLY what she *wanted* and has paid for.

Let's just say she doesn't suffer fools/incompetents gladly, or anyone trying to take the piss!!

However, it wouldn't matter how much time I took to do something like plastering, the results would still be disastrous:lol: DIY is simply not among my skill sets, so better off me embracing that fact than kidding myself on otherwise.....

There was some bloke used to be on the telly in the Sixties, used to have a program showing people how to DIY. Cover up your beautiful original panelled doors with hardboard and a really nasty 'wood effect' finish, that sort of thing. They reckoned on this documentary the DIY boom back then was pretty much down to him.

Those 1XG Internal doors with the full glass panel were dangerous, people were going thru them hence they used to panel them over with Hardboard.

The dead will be piled in the streets!!

.

Wow, was that sadly wrong.
America gives free health care to even people illegally hear , they jump the boarder to have their babies here and that is why 10 years ago a simple no complications child birth for my son was $15,000 dollars.
Wife had to stay 3 days after birth mandatory because the hospitals insurance requires it,so they aren't sued. And it off sets all the people who come here have the same service then walk out bill free.
I had insurance so my cost $100.00.
If you need medical no Emergency room can refuse you.

I was very sick day after Christmas with the flu but very short of breath . 3 weeks it was really bad, honestly most symptoms of covid 19 to tell the truth.
The ER was packed with people who did not speak English, 100% true a real eye opener. I see my doctor once to twice a year and don't go to the ER ever.
I don't do any daily meds either so I don't go to the pharmacy much.
There was a lady in there, they used a computer she talked in it in her language and it translated to the doctor in English! He replied in English and it spoke to her in her language!
Apparently she brought her 2 kids to ER every week to have them checked for being warm or a runny nose. She was a regular!
I know this because I offered to let her go before me because she had kids and the nurse told me I was a far bigger priority and need a chest x ray and nebulizer .
She then went on to say she is here once or twice a week and nothing is ever wrong with any of them,Mom is just nutz.
Leaving to get paper work for my prescription they ask your insurance? Normally there is one person alowed to the window at a time for hippa privacy laws but they had 3 people at a time trying to move people out.
Everyone was using medical free state care. Tax payer picks up the tab. So under stand no one sick gets turned away here. NO ONE. Good ol MEDICAL!

Insurance companies only have limits on chronic care like AIDS and some forms of Cancer where you need supplement insurance and if you are poor the bill is a gift to the tax payers.

Cities are over crowded, very high illegal immigrant populations there, I'll give you that.

Our president has done an amazing job, driving unemployment down to its lowest ever, taking our GDP from 1% to 4% ,wages have gone up and we where on track till covid 19 hit and the poll numbers show he has the highest approval rating ever beating Obama but our liberal media like CNN will never tell you that over there .
We will come back from this and so will most countrys after some short term pain.
At least I hope so for all of us.

Gazjam

As the OP in this Thread, I’d like to address Jeff’s (Goraman) comments in his post above.

He brought up the President doing an “amazing job”, which is relevant and on topic of discussion I think in this thread.

Good insight from someone in the USA thanks.
Genuine question:
Do you think the President is doing an “amazing job” job tackling the Covid-19 outbreak in the country?
He said it was a “Democratic Hoax” initially, and now he wants to see “packed churches” on Easter Sunday as it would be a “beautiful time” to reopen America.
This of course is whilst the death toll in America is rising exponentially, especially in NY.

So wondering what your take on this is.
Thanks.

Understand if you don’t want to answer, not everyone agrees the President IS doing an amazing job, myself included.

Don't just blame cowboy builders Andre, Indians aren't necessarily better - there's a firm of Asian builders in Preston (better not name them), and their work is truly shocking.

Also last month I fitted a couple of windows for a young Sikh family, who'd had an extension built by another Asian builder, and the poor man had naively paid in full ahead of the job being completed. The builder in question then bogged off to Pakistan "for a short holiday", and hasn't been seen since. So I've been tasked with working through a rather large list. Stuff that he has already paid for. I feel so sorry for this guy.

I suppose this makes me the cavalry, turning up at the end :)

How's everyone finding the shopping experience now in supermarkets? Round here anyway, there are much less folk about than normal, and consequently the supermarkets are relatively dead, no queues of any description, that's for sure!

We popped into our local Lidl this morning at 9am and got everything we needed., apart from dried pasta, which we later obtained in our local Polish store. Tip: if you want dried pasta, use your local foreign-owned mini-markets, where there's no issue with stock levels!

There's a superb selection of wine just now in Lidl, which hardly anyone seems to be buying, particularly from Italy, including some nice sparkling varieties, and lovely rosé wines from Germany and France, so we picked up a load!

Anyway, hope everyone is well and coping as best as possible, and if you have a garden, get out and enjoy the lovely weather:)

Long well spaced out queues, everyone seemed chilled out and ok.

Lol - when you were in the queue, you should've started coughing and heaving [maybe dribbling a bit too, for maximum effect, easily achieved by a Motherwell windae-licker:eyebrows:;)] - that would've soon kept him away!!

No going out now till the milk runs out of date April 3rd. Besides i really dont want to contract it [If i don't already have it that is] & pass it on to wifey who will in turn pass it on to patients, There is actually more chance me contracting it from her..still best i stay in now. We got plenty of Grub to last us.

Can i just say that there really is more utter brainless people in this cuntry than i initially thought. The last time i had to catch the bus, out of all the empty seat on the bus [Just 2 people] she sat directly behind me. Dudes you never seen a bloke blow up in flames like i did.

Before I have a go at answering your questions openly and honestly ,I had to ask myself how do I explain in one post what has happened to America over the last 20 years and how much the media here has been consolidated to just a few very wealthy globalists. And how little of what is being talked about by people over a beer ever gets publicly stated let alone make the news.
There is a huge disconnect between the press and 60% of America!

The left her is unhinged coming from Obama 1% growth massive unemployment ,homeless and drug epidemics unlike we have never seen.
We shot to 4% even CNN had to admit it. but not on international CNN! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqzoO-Hu1mk

The Associated press feeds the world bullocks and 85% of news comes from the same team, they even all suddenly use key words and taliking points handed to them by the DNC or Democrat party.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1vyefznaug
We know this because memos and emails have surfaced !

He has been fighting Globalists and not the kind that want everyone in the world to own a home, car, health insurance and get an education but the kind who want to have absolute control over the world guy like George Soros the Koke bros. and most owners of the main stream media here all 4 of them!

Clinton the Bush family and Obama believe it or not where from different parties yet all followed the exact same agenda GAT , NAFTA ect.. All where meant to out source jobs and manufacturing then what couldn't be sent out was brought in with H3 visas to drive down skilled labor to the lowest wages in 30 years.
America said no , the left promised more free stuff but it didn't work this time and they freaked out.
They then used the press to demonize Trump even more and scare young people who have been indoctrinated in our collages to hate America , they have not learned that freedom means being free to fail as well as win in life.
Responsibility is to hard , not so easy to attract people with brussel sprouts, peas and carrots even though we know they are the right thing to eat so the Left promises all the free candy you can eat and they swarm as the country gets sicker.

1st .Answer :Trump never said the Covid 19 was a hoax .

Yes, people are dieing, it is terrible but Trump is not King and the House is run by Democrats and he can't get funding for a band aid with out them and they are stopping him at every turn ,because if they can say people died under Trump they just may have a chance at running senile Joe up the flag pole.

Start viewing Trump, as having a narcissistic personality disorder, and it should all fall into place. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_personality_disorder

If on the other hand you believe he does not, can you give any example where he has genuine empathy for others, noting where he honestly steps outside of using that opportunity of expressing empathy
of turning it around and in the process promoting himself. ?

Narcissists generally have these traits:

Grandiosity with expectations of superior treatment from other people
Continually demeaning, bullying and belittling others
Exploiting others to achieve personal gain
Lack of empathy for the negative impact they have on the feelings, wishes, and needs of other people
Fixation on fantasies of power, success, intelligence, attractiveness, etc.
Self-perception of being unique, superior, and associated with high-status people and institutions
Need for continual admiration from others
Sense of entitlement to special treatment and to obedience from others
Intense envy of others, and the belief that others are equally envious of them

Can you see that applying to Trump, and perhaps many others involved in promoting Trump ?

Yes you would think so, to the latter, as impairment of personal function requires therapy - but narcissism is one of the hardest to treat as those impaired by it
do not believe they have a mental health problem, deeply tied to the very reason they exhibit narcissistic tendencies.

The kindest thing in this case is for the voters to wake up to this, but recent events see manipulation of the voting electoral process. ( I wonder why ? )
One can only hope intelligence returns there eventually.

I read here, possibility of the 25th amendment being invoked https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/president-donald-trump
which calls for the orderly transfer of power when a president becomes temporarily or permanently incapacitated.

The hysteria about Trump is almost as stupid as Trump himself.

State Governers are bidding against each other for resources they need to save lives, ventilators, PPE etc.
No centralised Federal Government help, they are on their own.
Trump joked about only dealing with States that were “appreciative” to him.
Mob Boss behaviour.

Madness, people are...dying.

I truly believe that Trump is a bullying psychopath, and is getting enjoyment from others suffering.
It’s all about him.

He and this situation is what happens when good men sit back and do nothing.

He knew for many MONTHS this was coming, and ignored it.
He cut funding for the CDC, and disbanded CDC Departments BASED IN CHINA specifically tasked with dealing with a crisis like this.

Its not just all on him, but his enablers that for whatever reason are sticking with him, doing whatever he says.
Dangerous Days.

If you're looking for someone to blame surely it would be the Chinese government who did nothing for weeks when they could have contained the spread to a very small area of their own country? And who did nothing to stop people selling and eating horseshoe bats which were known for more than a decade to be the source of viruses like Corona.

No country in the world was prepared despite a major corona outbreak from horseshoe bats being predicted by medical scientists at least 13 years ago.

Not a defence of Trump as clearly he's a nutcase. But let's have some realistic perspective that's not clouded by partisan politics.

I know, it should have been fixed years ago. But I think it's his hands that bother me the most, they're far too small for his body.

I once worked for a company that appointed a new CEO to get them out of the shit, a huge Glaswegian thug freshly graduated from the Barlinnie Charm School, and he had teeny-tiny hands. And he was a right bastard.

I don't know but clearly they are. I wasn't just replying to you but also to several other people.

History shows that governments are always unprepared and that governments are always slow to react. And that when they do react they always make a lot of mistakes. Regardless of the psychological make-up or the political beliefs of the people in charge. I don't understand why this still comes as a surprise to people. Maybe that's just me. :)

Yes, basic human psychology. I'm reminded of volcanic eruptions were people refuse to evacuate their homes because they can't comprehend the level of danger.

Plus any large organisation is always slow to react to changing situations. Specifically in this case we have had cries of wolf previously with SARS and swine flu which despite predictions were pretty minor events by comparison. That probably didn't help.

Govts dont like spending cash as it will involve debt and then taxes which are unpopular. Populist leaders like say Trump and Johnston are a bit shackled at moment, due to the way the state is set up but watch them go if reelected... You're over-estimating the power that the US president actually has. He has far less scope to do things than a UK Prime Minister. And a UK Prime Minister has a lot of limitations on their power.

Isn't anyone who gets elected a 'populist' by definition?

You were using Corona to criticise Trump and Jeff is putting an opposite opinion. Don't see why you would put him on ignore. Always worth seeing both sides of the picture.

You know as well as I do that Trump is not a Roman emperor ruling in a vacuum and by his own whim. He doesn't even have control of Congress! None of the major nations have handled this especially well with the exception of South Korea. And they learned their lesson because they were hit by SARS. Added to which they have a more authoritarian society and a more 'obedient' social code which makes it a lot easier to implement lockdowns and mobilise resources.

You don't like Trump, I get that, but I don't think using this crisis as a stick to beat him with serves any real purpose. It's big, it's out of any one man's control.

When this is over he will undoubtedly get another term and will no doubt do plenty of things that you can justifiably rail at then when there's nothing more serious going on.

There is nothing to gain for Americans, let alone anyone else believing anything, said by a person with narcissistic personality disorder.
Rather all you can expect is Lack of empathy, display of temper and combinations of the traits I listed before:

Grandiosity with expectations of superior treatment from other people
Continually demeaning, bullying and belittling others
Exploiting others to achieve personal gain
Lack of empathy for the negative impact they have on the feelings, wishes, and needs of other people
Fixation on fantasies of power, success, intelligence, attractiveness, etc.
Self-perception of being unique, superior, and associated with high-status people and institutions
Need for continual admiration from others
Sense of entitlement to special treatment and to obedience from others
Intense envy of others, and the belief that others are equally envious of them

The issue though is Goraman trying to convince us Trump is there for the American people, whilst pushing and celebrating his belief in Republican agenda.

Lets examine the current crises, to discover a lack of empathy, and grandstanding in line with usual narcissistic traits, by Trump

Here Joe Biden says the number one thing presently is misinformation and calls for Americans to listen to the scientists

and here Trump, "its like a miracle, one day it will disappear" https://www.factcheck.org/2020/03/trumps-statements-about-the-coronavirus/

useful to educate or protect Americans , but instead uses the opportunity to seek admiration from others.

A President with no empathy for anyone is a very dangerous recipe at any time, but particularly in times of crises.

An impairment of function, allowing that anyone can adjust their outlook, can usually be treated easily. This is the kindest thing to do
as there is nothing worse than anyone dying, still as a narcissist. It is an entire life wasted trying to to find a personality, and highly annoying others
in the process.

Sadly though unless he seeks treatment himself, little is likely to change - particularly now he has entire media outlets ( Fox ) in tune, with promoting the same disorder and his viewpoints to those
silly enough to watch that channel. Turn it off Jeff !!

However there is hope by undoing all the attention he needs, on November 3rd 2020

And it isn't going to happen when the only counter-arguments presented are cod psychology and schoolyard insults driven by a burning sense of self-righteousness. As that bloke said in one of the videos Jeff posted the other day, it's not political discourse, it's the world's dumbest religion. Trump is president because too many people found the alternative to be far more unpalatable. The same can be said for Brexit and Boris Johnson/conservative government in the UK. Why is that? 'The media'? No. Find a better answer. If you don't then you are just going to have to get used to it because it won't be changing anytime soon.

Hi Jeff
As I said stop watching Fox, and once that is OFF, then I would suggest you set about properly learning about the candidates you have choice to elect there.

here are some unbiased resources, for the Presidential candidates https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Biden , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump

Trump didn’t get the most votes in 2016...by far.
Electoral College system in US got him in.

Game was rigged, and sadly...this time...karma has taken a bite.

Hopefully, as people, we can learn from this.

Put a lid on it please.

Interesting research by a prof at Bristol uni who claims that more than 6 p/c loss in G.D.P in this country will result in more deaths than the virus will cause. Currant prediction (speculation ) is something like 15 p/c I believe ?
These are horrible times , with horrid options.

Guys, could we please not turn this into a contentious political debate? Especially past events with elections. I'd like the thread to centre on the effects of the virus itself, in every sense, the current figures, etc, and how folks are coping with the problems of the pandemic in all aspects of their lives.

Now for something completely different...
Has anyone found them selves sleeping late, staying up late and cooking far to much, because being home for 3 weeks just throws everything off?

Yes Jeff , staying up too late for sure, must try and do that part better.... like about now for zzz where I am.

On a funny note,( because it was self inflicted ) this guy tried to help invent a method to stop facial contact and ended up instead in a spot of bother :

Still going to bed around midnight/up about 7, so no change there, but my dumps timetable is all over the place. my 'gift to the world' would normally happen around 7am, but now it can happen any time of the day, much to the dismay of those that share this space with me :(

Yesterday Mrs. P made a load of ginger biscuits and a Victoria sponge cake, and this is all mostly gone (boredom-eating). Sponge cake was very nice, but rather dense - if someone threw a slice at your head you'd know about it. Probably contributing to my erratic poo times.

Well you did ask.

longer walks with dog, looking at the blossom (and bees) more attentively, finding jobs to do in the garden (house next), drinking more beer and staying up later to watch films (although, I am having a couple of days off the beer).
Forgot what day it is - thought today was Monday when I woke this morning. Situation seems to make most days seem like a Sunday in the 60's, which is no bad thing imo/

Do you mean from a medical point of view or because you're massively anti-social anyway? :D

I'd be happier if it was two miles but we can't have everything.

Especially from the 'pongmeisters' who, because they've been stuck inside, haven't bothered to wash for weeks, and think that when they sneak out to shop no-one will notice....
