What Peter McCullough said was that only the “vaccine” had been sought to be the defence against getting the virus.

Treatment for people that were already suffering from the virus was not pursued, hence people became more ill, hospitalisation, perhaps death ensued.

What he said was that the Worlds medical practitioners had allowed this to happen.

You need to understand what he intimated but left unsaid.

I leave it to you!

Today's stats for the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below): https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/

Positive tests: 35,693 (32,181).

Deaths: 207 (50).

Hospitalisations: 842 (901).

As expected, after the delay in updating data over the bank holiday, the death figure has notably increased. However, I suspect much of that is made up of the lag over the holiday weekend, so would expect that figure to reduce significantly tomorrow, in line with the general downward trend.

New cases and hospitalisations remain fairly stable, which is good, with the former also starting to show a downward trend. We'll see where we are tomorrow.

In wales (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 3328 (3872)

Deaths: 5 (1).

Indeed. However, it's the new admissions figure that's key, in order to show whether things are getting worse or not, and they're not. They're remaining relatively stable, as new admissions peaked at 980 some weeks back and have hovered around the 800/900 mark since:)

Positive tests: 38,154 (35,693).

As suspected, the death figure has reduced since yesterday, and I'd expect it be similar (or slightly less) tomorrow. New cases remain stable, as do hospitalisations (new admissions), so things are still well under control. I predict a general downwards trend for the rest of the month, although schools returning in England and Wales may temporarily push up the figures.

In Wales (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

Deaths: 5 (5).

The only good thing I guess that the new cases figure doesn't seem to be getting any worse. Hopefully, the situation up there will get better soon. but it might take a month or so before that happens.

Today's stats elsewhere in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below): https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/

Positive tests: 42,076 (38,154).

Deaths: 121 (178).

Hospitalisations: 985 (848).

From yesterday:

As suspected, the death figure has reduced since yesterday, and I'd expect it be similar (or slightly less) tomorrow.

...and so it is (at 121). I'd expect around that level, and perhaps up to 150, to be the average daily figure for deaths, for sometime going forward, before it reduces, but I wouldn't expect it to get over 250, and nothing like the 800+ we had in Jan/Feb.

However, new cases are still rising, and that's something that must be watched, as we don't want that to get out of control, which I wouldn't expect to happen. We're currently seeing a spike, that's all, ditto with hospitalisations (new admissions).

In Wales (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 2391 (2275)

Deaths: 6 (5).

Figures obviously lower at the weekend, but there appears to be a sustained general downturn in the number of deaths, which although will likely be higher than today's figure, I'd expect to be replicated on Tuesday. Everything else remains stable.

Positive tests: 41,192 (37,011).

Deaths: 45 (68).

Hospitalisations: 988 (985).

As predicted, deaths appear to be on downward trend. Yes, I expect the figure to be higher tomorrow (due to the usual delay in updating data over the weekend), but I wouldn't expect it to get much above 100, and wouldn't be surprised if it were less.

Again, new cases and hospitalisations remain stable. As I've said, I'd expect them to remain at current levels for the next month or so, before reducing significantly, which I'm certain will happen.

It's simply a matter of time now for it to reach the stage where everyone (vaccinated or otherwise) who's going to become infected with Covid, to do so and hopefully survive, thus strengthening their immune response, so that should they become infected again, the effects won't be as severe.

That's the natural way now for both new cases and hospitalisations to fall!

In Wales (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 5161 (2389).

Deaths: 8 (3).

Looks like we're now starting to see a similar spike in cases in Wales, as there is in Scotland.

Another lockdown coming :(

As soon as a government spokesperson goes on the news to say "we have no plans to ........", you can be sure that it is a strong possibility:)

Nah, don't see it... A lockdown because of the infection rate? Not going to happen, unless deaths and hospitalisations rise dramatically, close to the levels we seen in Jan/Feb.

Note, from Grant's post, how the new cases figure in Scotland has fallen, simply because they've probably had their big spike. Now it could be the turn of England and Wales. However, there's no sign of a significant (sustained) spike there yet...

Today's stats for the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below): https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/

Positive tests: 37,489 (37,011).

Deaths: 209 (68).

Hospitalisations: 905 (985).

I was wrong about the deaths being lower today, even with the usual 'Tuesday hike', as a result of catching up with the data over the weekend. Clearly, the downward trend in deaths isn't as marked as I'd thought.

However, a large part of that 209 will represent the 'catch up', so I'm pretty sure it'll fall by around 50 tomorrow, thus reflect the real situation, which is that deaths haven't gone over 300 per day at all during this wave of the pandemic, and currently remain on average at 180 or so. New cases remain stable, but hospitalisations (new admissions) are down.

Therefore, the situation isn't getting out of control, and I see nothing in the data to prompt a lockdown.

In Wales (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 2504 (5161)

Deaths: 3 (9).

So cases have also gone down in Wales:)

Yup, I agree with the former and the points you've made there. In terms of the latter, yes I heard about that crap (you know my views on such matters), and apparently it's going to be voted on in the Commons, with I suspect much opposition from human rights/civil liberties groups and others.

It's bullshit and discriminatory, of course, the former because as has been proven, vaccines do next to nowt to prevent the spread of the virus, so who are they protecting, and what exactly do they hope to achieve with 'Covid passes' at said venues?

And the latter because I presume said passes will no doubt be produced via an app, so what about the folks without smartphones, particularly all the old boys who go to watch games - what are they going to do??

I don’t think the general masses want to know how they have been duped and brainwashed into believing the virus named Covid exists. The only saviour being a vaccine .

When before have people had a diagnosis and told to go home and die, no treatment known, all attempts to create a sequence of drugs (as in Cancer treatment) were aborted. Only drugs in singularity were tried, and the conclusion reached they don’t work so nothing works. Why?

The first and second vaccines seem to have limited effect....further doses frequency? Not killed enough yet?

I know intelligence and common sense are not bedfellows.

Our government is now back tracking on pledges, what now on the odds of “not reversing” return of mandatory activities and lockdown?

Hi Alan,
My advice to those of you wanting to know the answer to your question is to do your own research, there is an abundance of information out there if you look, you wont get the truth from any of the main media, but i think many folk here have already realised that by now, the mere fact that none of the major protests going on around the world have had little or no air time on the main stream news should be a wake up call in itself! I have been quiet for months on this subject here because speaking out against the madness being discussed here, especialy from those who i had hoped would have more sense was becoming to much to bear.
Here's another one to ponder over; people quieing up outside covid testing centers chatting away with no apparent symptoms, why ??? when have we ever gone to the docs and asked for an Xray or antibiotics or any kind of medication or test without having any symptoms that would lead the Doc to assume that you have an illness, come on folks wake up do your OWN research and end this madness!!!
In the meantime keep taking Vitamin C, D3, and Zink.

In the meantime keep taking Vitamin C, D3, and Zink.

Agree about taking vitamin C and Zinc - when I was teaching, I kept on getting colds/occasional flu,so I started taking a soluble supplement every morning and Vitamin D most of the year (out of desperation :)) and it seemed to work. It is now part of my routine.

However, I have no symptoms of an illness at present (thankfully) but have had tests for cholesterol level (high, so started eating more nuts and oats, trying to lay off "fatty" foods but I think my cholesterol level is influenced by my genetic make up) and for prostate cancer (sensible thing to do in my opinion, thankfully all clear).
If I were to wait for symptoms, odds would be very much stacked against me.

Over the years, with no symptoms, I have had Tetanus, BCG etc and most recently Covid vaccinations.
Both daughters have had HPV vaccination. Wife and daughters have smear tests and checks for breast cancer - all with no symptoms.

Hi Guy,
And those tests were your choice, my point is this; go back 2 years, if we had symptoms of cold flu, we stayed home, if we didnt have any symptoms, we went about our business, that's my point!

Also fell off my pushbike a few years ago and had a had x-ray (chipped lunate bone) which showed early signs of arthritis, so something was found which was not related to my "condition".

Eminently sensible to have diagnostic testing and preventative medicine/courses of action in my opinion.

To make a sensible decision on the relative risks one would need to compare with deaths associated with Covid infection over the same time period and by same age groups - by the way where is jpeg from, also is it UK cases or worldwide?

Facts

Vaccines may stop the most severe outcomes
They do not stop the Fauci virus from spreading as more people may be contagious as asymptomatic
The immunity level they provide is not as good as catching the infection and repeated doses may be needed
Current Vaccines only act on limited part of the virus and mutations are possible causing by natural selection to evolve the virus on to vaccine resistant strains.
They do zips for the over 3 million peoples that have immune suppression disorders such as HIV
Side effects are unknown and require many years of study
They generate vast income for the big Pharma companies
Big pharma’s dictate what organisation such as WHO CDC and MHRA NIH tell you
Big mainstream media, the BBC foremost, are engaged in the suppression of any data that may give rise on “conspiracy and miss information” or what is not dictated by the organisations that should have your interest at hart ( WHO CDC NIH MHRA)
This is blocking any study for other possible treatment and prophylactics that may contribute towards better recovery and reduction of the RO
Your government lies

There’s been much publication on and in various mediums on mask wearing, but little on how they should be handled.

I have posted on here before on this, but I think a reminder is worth it. The mask is to be presented to the face by the straps. If on wearing them, removing or repositioning them any other part of the mask is touched you need to sanitise or wash for 20 seconds.

Now on removing in a public place what are you doing with the mask? Pocket, handbag on your arm. So if you can’t sanitise in some way then your hands become a particle transmitter. Anything you touch becomes contaminated.

I live in a small town, just by observation, sitting with my dog in the square. NO ONE adheres to this simple principle. On chatting to mask wearers, just in general conversation they are not aware of this process. Without fail they believe the mask is to protect them, not to prevent transmission to others.

The media are presenting mask wearing in crowded places....this encourages...Mask on, Mask off. Isn’t this promoting transmission? Ah well the cases (infections seems prevalent now) have to be accelerated somehow!

Gary

Sorry I forgot to add all this depends on a belief that people have fallen and believe in the Covid-19 lie :doh:

Good points on masks, Gary - and all are valid. I'd also like to thank Anthony for taking the time to present us with some compelling information on this whole matter that seeks to challenge the accepted norm, and which is certainly worth considering.

Anyway, I didn't get a chance tp update the stats yesterday (before I publish today's), so here goes...

Yesterday's stats for the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

Positive tests: 38,975 (37,489).

Deaths: 191 (209).

Hospitalisations: 933 (905).

And today (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

Positive tests: 38,013 (38,975).

Deaths: 167 (191).

Hospitalisations: 863 (933).

All still fairly stable, with deaths starting to reduce to the figure I was expecting. We'll see where we are at the same time next week, and whether or not there's evidence of a sustained downturn on any of the stats.

In Wales (for yesterday, with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 2669 (2504)

Deaths: 10 (3).

In Wales today (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 2297 (2669)

Deaths: 9 (10).

So new cases are also continuing to fall in Wales.

Granty, what are the current Scottish stats?:)

Covid in Scotland: Infection rate jumps to record one in 45..The Covid infection rate in Scotland has again risen to its highest level since estimates began, with about one in 45 thought to have had it last week.

The latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) infection survey estimated 117,300 people had Covid in the week ending 3 September.

It was the highest rate of any of the UK nations and the most ever recorded.

England was estimated to be one in 70, Wales was one in 65 and Northern Ireland was one in 60, the ONS said.

Question is; are all of these people actualy sick, ie with actual symptoms, or are they just relying on the result from the scewed PCR test that has been found to be as high as 95% inaccurate, which the CDC has recently stated that from December this year will no longer be used as an accurate form of test for Covid, stating that a much more accurate test is needed to be able to positively identify covid from Flu and Influenza!!!

And today in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below) https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/:

Positive tests: 37,622 (38,013).

Deaths: 147 (167).

Hospitalisations: 1063 (863).

So, as predicted, new cases and deaths continue to fall, which is good, although the most pertinent stat there is the new admissions to hospital, which has notably risen, and of course is something that needs watching. Problem is, we don't know when this current wave will hit its peak.

However, for now at least, that's tempered by the fact that new cases haven't risen in line with it, so if that continues, then it should follow that hospitalisations should start to fall, although as we're coming into the weekend now, we won't really know until Tuesday.

In Wales today (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 2467 (2297)

Deaths: 5 (9).

So a slight increase in cases, but drop in deaths. All pretty stable for now.

no test is 100%. these aint perfect by a way but they are best we have, and in general do the job to find high areas, or probability that someone has the virus and can be re-tested ..
up here its running wild, especially among the younger folk. schools and lete teens to 30 are biggest group, but they are giving it to older folk too.

Quite right, mate. You're not wrong in what you're saying, but there's risk in all aspects of life. However, right now, with you being double-jabbed, there's probably more risk of you being involved in a fatal car crash, on the way to a dealership [and touch wood that never happens], than dying from Covid;)

So you have to LIVE, whilst being as careful as you can, not hide away forever in fear of Covid, as that's no LIFE, merely an existence.

Today in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below) https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/:

Positive tests: 29,547 (37,622).

Deaths: 156 (147).

Hospitalisations: 1063 (1063).

Interesting stats... You could say that deaths and new admissions to hospital figures are high for a weekend, which I'm sure reflects the fact that we're in the middle of a peak of the 3rd wave, but then new cases once again are down.

Now is the latter due to it being a weekend (lag in data updating), and if so, why aren't the stats for deaths and new admissions similarly affected? My guess is that new cases are on a downward spiral (although we won't know for sure until Tuesday), as they've been falling gradually for the last few days, which of course is a good thing.

However, hospitalisations are obviously still on the up, although you wonder with them being exactly the same as yesterday, whether that figure has been properly updated.. We'll see what tomorrow and Monday brings, in that respect, and notably Tuesday.

The figures for Wales, as of yet, haven't been updated since yesterday.

What are the stats for Scotland, Granty?

Regardless of anything else, this is a very apt (and true) quote:

We’re living in strange times, and if you believe the Covid-19 vaccination programme is working because the authorities on the television tell you that it is, then you must surely find it extremely strange that the UK is in the middle of a third wave in the middle of summer? Especially when you consider that in summer 2020 Covid-19 deaths flat-lined to zero even though a Covid-19 injection was not available.

Indeed. Can't really argue with that, but is that simply because the new 'Delta variant' of the virus is more transmissible?;)

Even if true, it just means that the vaccines are piss-poor at dealing with it, so how does that augur for the future? As I've always said, this thing will NOT cease to be a significant problem until we reach herd immunity..

Inaccurate: The Lab Alert notified users that the CDC would be withdrawing its request for emergency use authorization for its COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test after December 2021. This isn’t because the performance of the CDC’s RT-PCR test for detecting COVID-19 showed any problems, but because tests that are capable of processing more samples within a given time and detecting more than one pathogen have since been developed. Such characteristics make these tests the preferred alternatives in the interests of time and resources.

In preparation for this change, CDC recommends clinical laboratories and testing sites that have been using the CDC 2019-nCoV RT-PCR assay select and begin their transition to another FDA-authorized COVID-19 test. CDC encourages laboratories to consider adoption of a multiplexed method that can facilitate detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses. Such assays can facilitate continued testing for both influenza and SARS-CoV-2 and can save both time and resources as we head into influenza season. Laboratories and testing sites should validate and verify their selected assay within their facility before beginning clinical testing.

This folllows the path that the PCR test hasn’t been capable of differentiating between Covid-19 and influenzas, hence the ONS stoped statistics on ‘flu.

Positive tests: 29,173 (29,547).

Deaths: 56 (156).

Hospitalisations: 1073 (1063).

Clearly, hospitalisations are still on the rise, as on a Sunday you'd expect lower figures, due to the delay in data updating, so we'll see how things are tomorrow.

The death figure, of course for the same reason, is artificially low, but I do believe that there is a general downwards trend in that area, which will hopefully be reflected in tomorrow's figures, and new cases continue to fall.

In Wales today (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

Boring to the extreme but it has a couple of golden nuggets at about 5 minutes from the end
Have a look at the chart at 21:23

The Big question that require an honest answer is:

What are your chances to end up in hospital whit the Fauci virus?

Once you answer that work out what it would be if your immune system is top notch, whit good levels of vitamin D for example

And then keep chipping away whit Ivermectin Hydroxycloroquine and so on

The results I get is that now one single death from it is one to many

Hi Gary,
We are on the same wavelength on this as i had already posted something similar stating that the PCR test was shockingly in-accurate at being able to differentiate between Covid and influenza, hence my reasoning that its possible that Influenza didn't just disappear as we have been led to belief since all this started, but has just been re-labeled as Covid, now it seems they have conjured up some additional tests that will more accurately find something else in our system that they can again re-label as Covid, people open your eyes for goodness sake!!|!

This follows the path that the PCR test hasn’t been capable of differentiating between Covid-19 and influenzas, hence the ONS stopped statistics on ‘flu.

So, who's watched it? The body language from his fellow ministers, is interesting, isn't it? Clearly uncomfortable... And the reaction from the front benchers, more so. They're certainly not happy about him discussing it!

Well, too bad. The rabbit's out the hat now.

The PCR test has served its purpose, so now to take the attention away from its well documented limitations and any recriminations let’s have new red herrings.

In the meantime we will continue to have statistics that are meaningless and untrue.

Quite simply get an antibody test
It would be the only one definitive proof that you either had the Fauci virus or that the vaccine you been talked in to taking have worked and you not part of an experiment.

No further passport needed no further test till maybe next year no need to worry about ending up in hospital no need for test before or after a trip
even tell you haw many Fkeers you got, mine dated 05/08 show level above 2500 whatever.

In the mean time they carry on whit the tit for that whit the French over same shit that may kill you

And I just got told, sorry Sir we do not have any solar panels for your security camera "due to the current situation"

Just write to your MP and tell him unless I get an Antibody test for free next time I am going to vote for the other C--t or pay £50 like I did

Today in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below) https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/:

Positive tests: 30,825 (29,173).

Deaths: 61 (56).

Hospitalisations: 1076 (1073).

We won't know the true picture until tomorrow, but it appears that deaths are falling, along with new cases, and the spike in hospitalisations could be levelling off. However, let's see what tomorrow brings.

In Wales today (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 4308 (2317).

Deaths: 21 (8).

So another jump in new cases (and deaths), and over the weekend too, where you'd expect lower figures. In previous waves of the virus, Wales has usually had its peak later than the rest of the UK, so that's probably what's happening. We'll see how things look tomorrow.

I'm starting to think that nothing will prevent Covid cases rising, going away then coming back, ad infinitum. Vaccines may not keep us ahead of mutations, and herd immunity won't happen either for the same reason. In the same way we don't achieve herd immunity with the common cold. Although these may mitigate the severity of infections.

I really hope I'm mistaken, and that someone on here with the brains, the time and the inclination to research this stuff will prove me wrong,

Marco

Sure... It's not spiralling out of control though, is it? Just going up and down.

I understand why you feel as you've outlined, but I honestly think the virus will peter out and get to the stage where it presents no more of a threat than flu (indeed some came to that conclusion long ago, which of course is arguable), and so (if wanted) you'll simply get your annual Covid jab along with your flu one, and we'll LEARN TO LIVE with Covid, the same as any other virus.

This is an interesting article (worth negotiating the annoying ads to read), which pretty much sums up how I envisage things will go: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/covid-how-will-it-end/2021/09/04/44bdd69a-fed7-11eb-a664-4f6de3e17ff0_story.html?utm_source=pocket-newtab-global-en-GB

Key quote: “I truly, truly think we are in the endgame,” said Monica Gandhi, an infectious-disease specialist and professor of medicine at the University of California at San Francisco. “The cases will start plummeting in mid- to late September and by mid-October, we will be in a manageable place, where the virus is a concern for health professionals, but not really for the general public.”

judging by the figures on infection and vaccination, as long as no new super infector etc changes the parameters then we really should be getting closer nor to over 96% of total population having some level of protection. it may not stop it but it may become a less problemic issue.
its still a big maybe tho as we dont know enough yet

Quite right. The only sensible response has to be "learning to live with it"

My main concern at the moment regarding vaccination is the proposal that it will be a case of " Covid booster in one arm, Flu in the other" for over fifties this winter - I really don't like the idea of overloading my immune response with two vaccinations at the same time.

Marco

Then skip the booster, simples... It's YOUR body, and your decision. You've already had two jabs, offering you ample protection. You don't need a third one so soon after the second, no matter what the government would like!

When you're afraid of something, what you want more than anything else is to make it go away. You want your life back to the way it was before you found out that there was something to be afraid of. You want to build a high wall and live your old life behind it. But nothing ever stays the same. That's not your old life at all. That's your new life with a wall around it. Your choice is not about going back to the way things were. Your choice is about hiding, or about going right to the heart of the thing that scares you.

Never good to hide from anything, as it solves nothing.

In life, even when faced with the most challenging of adversity (such as when I had a spinal tumour, which would've killed me, and was told by my consultant that after the op there was an 85% chance of being paralysed from the waist down), I've always faced things HEAD ON, with a positive mental attitude, never hidden away or felt sorry for myself.

I firmly believe that was one of the reasons why I survived and retained my mobility, as mentally, despite the huge odds against it, I *refused to accept* that I was going to be dead or disabled, and thankfully (miraculously) it didn't happen...

Experiences like that certainly give you a different perspective on life, and make you value what you've got and the precious time you spend with loved ones, none of which is best served by hiding from Covid, no matter how 'scary'. The threat of being paralysed from the waist down was scarier... Life's too short mate, so you have to take the precautions you can, make the best of it, and try not to have any regrets!:)

Scottish figures must be updated earlier than the UK ones, which doesn't normally happen until 4-4.30pm. So I'll come back later with those.

I take your point, but cases do seem to be coming down in Scotland, which is what usually happens once they've reached their peak. Up or down, deaths are at a very low level. More people will likely have died on the roads. In terms of Covid, we haven't reached our peak yet in Wales, and I'm not sure England has either.

copied from another thread...

When everything in your life is right on track, it's easy to believe that things happen for a reason; it's easy to have faith. But when things start to go wrong then it's very hard to hold on to that faith. It's hard not to wonder whose reasons these things happen for. People like to examine the things that frighten them, to look at them and give them names, so saints look for God, and scientists look for evidence. They're both just trying to take away the mystery, to take away the fear. We all like to think that we have some control over the events in our lives, and a lot of the time we can fool ourselves into thinking that we really are in charge. But then something happens to remind us that the world runs by its own rules and not ours and that we're just along for the ride.

Today in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below) https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/:

Positive tests: 26,628 (30,825).

Deaths: 185 (61).

Hospitalisations: 1009 (1076).

So.... The usual 'Tuesday hike' (today's stats including updated data from the weekend), as predicted, reveals some good news!

New cases have notably dropped, continuing the downwards trend for the last week, and I'd expect that to continue in the weeks to come. The death figure is also much lower than with the similar 'Tuesday hike' from last weekend, where we saw 288 deaths.

However, I'd expect it to hover around that figure (150-180) for a little while yet. Then, in conjunction with the reduction in new cases, reduce gradually in next couple of weeks, in line with Monica Ghandi's earlier prediction.

Importantly too, hospitalisations (new admissions) does indeed look like it's levelling off. If the figure comes down again tomorrow, then that should indicate that we're slowly coming out of the peak of the 3rd wave, so we'll see.

In Wales today (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 1924 (4308).

Deaths: 5 (21).

Big reduction too, in the number of new cases in Wales. Surprisingly so, actually. Certainly welcome news. We'll see how things stand tomorrow.

Indeed, mate. You and I, and no doubt thousands of others. A positive mental attitude/glass half-full approach to life, as opposed to the opposite, can be of untold benefit to your well-being, and arguably add years onto your life.

Marco.

Arguably indeed, as I would argue that you can't say something has added years to your life without first knowing at what age you were scheduled to die and seeing how far past that date you get ;)

There are exceptions: cancer survivors, successful transplant patients, folk on death row having their convictions overturned... but even they can still get hit by a bus! But I take tour point, having a positive attitude is a good thing :)

Marco
15-09-2021, 06:37
Absolutely it's arguable, but there's plenty of evidence around showing that a will to live or not give up hope of survival in adversity, after people in such situations have pulled through against all the odds, to suggest that there's something in it.

That doesn't make it a fact, of course, but it's certainly better to have a positive mental attitude than a negative one!:)

Personally, I don't associate with negative-minded, depressing people, as it drags me down from my usual cheery self, so tend to avoid them like the plague, and surround myself with folk who are naturally predisposed to smiling more than frowning, even when life isn't great.

Positive tests: 30,597 (26,628).

Interesting... Didn't expect to see deaths rise slightly. Thought it'd be the opposite, but it's not a big rise and will likely go down tomorrow, once again to below the 200 mark. Similarly, and I'm pleasantly surprised, I didn't expect hospitalisations to reduce by such a margin, so let's hope that's the beginning of a sustained downwards trend.

In Wales (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 2298 (1924).

Slight rise in cases, but nothing too alarming. Hopefully, it'll not rise again to above 4000.

Positive tests: 26,911 (30,597).

Deaths: 158 (201).

The data for hospitalisations (new admissions) hasn't been updated since the 11th, so unfortunately we don't know what the score is in that respect. However, new cases is significantly down, as are deaths. which I thought would be the case. I understand why you'd ask that, but the point is, the less new cases there are, the less the virus is spreading, so as that figure starts to notably reduce, which it will, with the subsequent knock-on effect on hospitalisations and deaths, we'll know that the pandemic is nearing its end - certainly in terms of it being a major threat.

Therefore, everything stems from how many new cases there are each day:)

Soldiers will be drafted in to drive ambulances in a bid to ease the "unprecedented" pressure on the NHS.

Scottish Ambulance Service chief executive Pauline Howie said logistical staff would also be made available to support paramedics and technicians.

Ms Howie said the impact of Covid had placed the service at its "highest level of escalation".

On Thursday, the Scottish government confirmed it had asked the MoD for military assistance.

Ms Howie was asked on BBC Radio's Good Morning Scotland programme if it would mean soldiers driving NHS ambulances or army ambulances.

She said: "I would expect the former and we will be working through the details of that over the coming days."

Her comments came after it emerged an 86-year-old woman had to wait eight hours for an ambulance after falling and breaking her hip at home.

Lillian Briggs, who has Parkinson's, skin cancer and has had two heart attacks, was left lying on her kitchen floor in agony after blacking out.

People in Wales will need to show a pass proving they have been fully vaccinated or had a negative Covid test to attend clubs and large-scale events.

The new rules begin on 11 October.

Customers will be able to use an NHS Covid Pass to show they have been vaccinated, or had a negative lateral flow test in the past 48 hours.

The pass will be needed for clubs, indoor no-seating events with more than 500 people and outdoor no-seating events with more than 4,000 people.

It will also be required for any event with more than 10,000 people.

Passes will be available to anyone over the age of 16, though will only be compulsory for those aged over 18 to enter certain events.

It comes as Public Health Wales (PHW) reported eight further deaths with coronavirus and 2,618 new cases.

Night Time Industries Wales said they were disappointed by the decision which would "have a negative impact on businesses".

Scotland intends a similar thing I believe.

I just hope it doesn't spread to the likes of pubs and restaurants - as that would be a real ball ache. I doubt that will happen though, as it would be hugely unpopular!

I've got tickets to see Nile Rogers on Sunday afternoon down the bay open air and the above rules are already in force.

The thing that gets me with this is their automatic presumption that *everyone* will have a smartphone, in order to avail of said pass.

There are many thousands of people who don't (for all sorts of valid reasons), or even if they have one, the technical wherewithal to access/download the app. So what do they do, especially if they can't afford a smartphone? They're effectively alienated.

There's also an automatic presumption that those who haven't been vaccinated (count me in), wishing to attend such evens, and therefore obtain said Covid pass via proof of a negative test, have a computer/access to the Internet, and the technical wherewithal to transfer that information to wherever it needs to go, in order that the pass is activated and valid for the event.

And to my knowledge, none of that has been properly explained, discussed, or help provided to assist those who come into the above category. Therefore the thinking seems to be: 'Either comply with the habits of modern society (i.e. be a smartphone/savvy computer owner), and become the mindless clone that the powers that be want you to be, or effectively be an outcast'!

It's both unfair and discriminatory.

Lol, we can giggle, but that's not the point is it? In a democracy and supposedly FREE society, no-one's legal free choices, simply because they don't conform to the norm, should end up controlling or restricting their freedom!

Plus, as I said, what if it's not about 'lagging behind', and you'd like a smartphone but can't afford one? So you just accept being treated as a second-class citizen? Is that right or fair?

Thanks for that. However, see here: https://gov.wales/nhs-covid-pass-prove-your-vaccination-status#section-70622

Noting: "You should only request a paper COVID Pass if: you have had a full course of the COVID-19 vaccine (you should wait 5 days after your final dose before requesting it)"

So looks like you can't get one via a negative lateral flow test, only a full course of the vaccine. Therefore, that's unfair and discriminatory, especially when a negative test is stated as being valid qualification for a Covid pass.

Also, can you see instructions anywhere for how to use a negative lateral flow test to generate a Covid pass?

Lol, no chance. If or when that happens, it won't be until next year, at the very earliest, after I've analysed any medium-term side effects of the vaccines (and other factors).

I don't need a Covid pass at the moment, as I'm not planning on going to any big events, but would like to know how to obtain one if I need it, and yes I will get Del to look into that, as they don't exactly make it clear.

The point is though, if a negative lateral flow test is stated as being a valid qualification for a Covid pass, then that should apply to the paper one, too!!

New cases creeping up again... I've seen that happen before in Wales, then drop back down to precious levels, so hopefully just a spike.

Today in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below) https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/:

Positive tests: 30,144 (32,651).

Deaths: 164 (178).

Hospitalisations: 932 (909).

So both new cases and hospitalisations have continued to fall over a 7-day period. Let's hope that continues. Deaths remain stable.

New new updates on data for Wales.

Positive tests: 29.612 (30.144).

Deaths: 56 (164).

Hospitalisations: 932 (909).

The figure for hospitalisations hasn't been updated from the 14th September, hence stays the same. The other figures are probably lower because it's a Sunday, so we'll see where we are tomorrow, and notably Tuesday.

What's interesting though, is if you look at where things stood last Sunday (with previous day's figures in brackets)....

Positive tests: 29,173 (29,547).

Deaths: 56 (156).

Hospitalisations: 1073 (1063).

Pretty similar to today, but with less hospitalisations. I guess there's one thing you can say, at least for now, is that the situation isn't getting worse (in England)!:)

In Wales today (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 2717 (2618).

Deaths: 15 (8).

Small rise in cases and deaths, but nothing major.

Points taken mate, and no doubt valid, but regardless, it's been a while since new cases have been under the 3k mark in Scotland. I bet the figure was higher last Monday, with similar caveats:)

Anyway, we'll see how things stand later today...

Yesterday in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below) https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/:

Positive tests: 36,000 (29,612).

Deaths: 49 (56).

Hospitalisations: 930 (932).

New cases a little up, but that'll only be because the previous figures were taken on a Sunday. I wouldn't expect today's figures later to be much higher, if at all, as there's still been a downwards trend in general over the last 7 days.

Interestingly, deaths still remain lower than normal, so I'd expect that to rise a little today, with the usual catch up in data. And hospitalisations are also down over the last 7 days. I wouldn't expect to see too much of an increase today. and hope that we can see figures remaining below the 1000 threshold, and much lower soon.

In Wales yesterday (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below):

New cases: 2576 (2717).

Deaths: 7 (15).

So things remain stable here, too. We'll see how the stats look later.

Marco.

21-09-2021, 15:39
So what is it then: a case of choose the lesser of the two evils?

Anyway, I think some better news with today's figures, incorporating the usual 'Tuesday hike'...

Today in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below) https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/:

Positive tests: 31,564 (36,000).

Deaths: 203 (49).

Hospitalisations: 861 (930).

It was pretty obvious that the death figures for the last two days were artificially low, so the increase will be the 'catch up' expected from the weekend, although I didn't expect it to top the 200 mark. I think we'll see that reduce to the usual 180 or so tomorrow.

However, the good news is that new cases are down, continuing the downwards trend over the last 7 days, and as it's Tuesday I think we can safely say that's as accurate a figure as we're likely to get, in terms of the current spread of the virus among the population, and I'd like to think it'll come down further as we get to the weekend.

Arguably though, the most encouraging news is that hospitalisations are once again down, maintaining a downwards trend of nearly 12% over the last week, so long may that continue! If that figure continues to fall, in line with new cases, then I think we can safely say that we're past the worst of the peak of this third wave.

Let's see where we are tomorrow!

The figures for Wales, as yet , haven't been updated from yesterday.

Yes, there should always be choice, but it's a terrible position parents are being put in, especially when being pressurised by the government and authorities to vaccinate their kids. https://inews.co.uk/news/covid-vaccine-12-to-15-year-old-can-get-without-parent-consent-children-jab-roll-out-1197935

Research on millions of people who've had the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) shows there's a tiny risk of myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart, which is more common in young people - and particularly younger boys - after a second dose. It can cause chest pain and a pounding heart, but symptoms usually clear up in days.

No vaccine or drug is ever 100% safe, and data from the US shows the numbers of children affected are very small.

For every million Pfizer second doses given to 12-17-year-old-boys, around 60 had the condition (compared with 8 in a million among girls). The rates in this age group are higher than in older ones - and it's why only one dose for 16 and 17-year-olds in the UK has been recommended, for now.

But being infected with Covid has consequences for teenagers' health too - including their hearts - so how big is that risk?

A recent US study suggests having Covid-19 could be six times more likely to trigger myocarditis in young men than the vaccine, with a rate of about 450 per million infections.

I think both your points and ways of looking at the situation are valid, and deserve to be respected, but please don't fall out.

We all need to respect someone else's right to think differently, or assess risk differently from us and make allowances for that - and most of all not take umbrage when someone else challenges our opinions or what we believe is true, in reference to this pandemic or otherwise.

If you get pissed off because someone's alternative views make you question your own, then unfortunately that says more about you than them, so simply don't react like that, as it helps nothing or no-one, especially walking off in a huff when someone refuses to agree with your way of reasoning.

For me, the fact that we're still able to think and act differently from each other is something we should all value very highly. In future, there may come a time when that simple act of human behaviour is no longer available to us, so long live free thinking and our right to live as individuals!:)

I get annoyed at not being able to post pics on here just because I'm useless with technology :( Unfair and discriminatory!

As for mobile phone costs - you can buy an earlier iPhone for about £50, and then use a sim-only contract (mine's a bit dearer than Grant's at £12 per month). A pittance compared to what going to concerts festivals and sporting events costs these days :)

Cool... Is that like the one you hide in your 'secret drawer', for Facetimes with Bev?:eyebrows:

Swapping naughty pictures can be fun, although her legs versus your wee willie-winky, is a bit of a non-contest!:D

And for what its worth, i think your absolutely right mate,
I have no intention of falling out with anyone here, and if my tone come's over that way sometimes, then i sincerely appologise, i have always managed to stand my ground even when things get a little heated, especialy when i think my point of view is worth considering, i guess that comes from the type of upbringing i had, as many of you can see by the amount of info [hopefully mostly valid and of interest to some here] i have put up here over the last year or so should help you to understand that this has been one subject that has not made much sense to me from the begining, and the more i looked into what the many credible people who were coming forward with alternative info than we were getting from the main stream media, the more i started to dig, needless to say i am amongst many people from around the world that refuse to accept that we are being told anywhere near the truth about any of this, and thus its the reason i have spent so much of my time on it, i have many other things i could have put that time into instead, but i feel this is such a huge problem that we are facing at the moment, that it deserves the time i can spare, and hopefully by doing so my ramblings may have inspired others here and else where to start doing some independant research themselves.

No worries, mate. Just basically saying that everyone's views expressed here on vaccines (or otherwise) are valid, but once they've been expressed, yet perhaps not accepted by others, then the best thing to do is simply for everyone to 'agree to disagree' and move on - as friends!

As you've said, there's really no need for anyone to fall out, or to strop posting on this thread, simply because they don't like or agree with something.

Today in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below) https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/:

Positive tests: 34.460 (31,564).

Deaths: 166 (203).

Hospitalisations: 747 (861).

So... Some more good news! Despite a slight rise in new cases (although still showing a downwards trend in the last 7 days), hospitalisations continue to fall, and which are down nearly 14% over the last 7 days. Also, as predicted, deaths are notably down from yesterday's 'Tuesday hike' high of 203.

I'd expect the daily deaths figure to average at around the 160 mark for the next few weeks, until the drop in hospitalisations notably impacts on it, and therefore will start to fall at a similar rate. We just need to keep an eye on the new cases figure, and hope that starts to notably fall soon, with the inevitable positive impact on everything else!

Still, for now, some reasons to be cheerful:)

In Wales today (with previous day's figures shown in brackets):

New cases: 2485 (2576)

Deaths: 10 (7)

Currently things remain stable.

How's Scotland looking, Granty?

And now this (very important) message, if you truly value and strenuously seek to protect your civil liberties, see here: https://mailchi.mp/bigbrotherwatch/64956661-6495821?e=9509ffdbfa

I'd urge everyone who qualifies to email their MS or MSP (as outlined in the link) and fight against these odious 'vaccine passports' that, quite simply, are an affront to life in a supposedly democratic and free country!

So, TOGETHER, my friends, let's defeat the closet fascists, who currently govern us, and ensure that PEOPLE POWER wins the day, and that most importantly, FREEDOM triumphs over control and oppression!!

So how are things today in Scotland, Granty? I did ask you this yesterday!:whistle::popcorn: ;)

Today in the UK (with the previous day's figures shown in brackets below) https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/:

Positive tests: 36,710 (34,460).

Deaths: 182 (166).

Hospitalisations: 714 (747).

New cases are still rising, so we'll need to watch that, however deaths remain at around the mark expected, and hospitalisations have fallen yet again. If we can get the new cases down and under control, then going forward things will be much better.

In Wales today (with previous day's figures shown in brackets):

New cases: 2476 (2485)

Deaths: 5 (10)

Still fairly stable in Wales. However, I hope that new cases start to fall a little quicker soon.
