I do regret not buying 'Metal Box' back when it came out on vinyl in the metal tin. Stood there in HMV pondering it but I was still at school and it would have ate into my beer money too much. Worth a fortune now.

I disagree! Her debut album is pretty good, but my favourite by far is 'Easter'.
The only duff LP she made was 'Radio Ethiopia', but I think we agree on that.

It is, Barry, but I hadn't realised how good until now :) I'm finding with a lot of my albums it's almost like I'm hearing them for the first time... to say I'm happy with these new speakers would be an understatement, definitely endgame for me.

Unfortunately, it is Steve :) Everything is just a bit cleaner (open, detailed, less muddy ?), particularly the upper mids into lower highs. That's how I'm hearing it and it is only rhe first play, so .....

I bought it from imusic webstore in Denmark. I've bought a few things from them over the years and they're always good.

Ah yes - now you mention it, I can see it at the top on the first 'flying slab'. As you say it the colour of the lettering is in poor contrast with the background.*

Yep, the very same ,ex Buzzcocks singer. I really like it, sort of a bit more art post-punk rock. Quirky but tuneful.

This is the tracklisting. Seems to be quite a lot to squeeze onto a single disc, but no complaints about sound quality. Ofc you would likely choose a CD copy where it wouldn't matter anyway.

I did do some research and 'FFS' is a supergroup; an amalgamation of our Franz Ferdinand with the US group Sparks.
To my credit I did recognise the moustached member of Sparks, but I still had to Google it.

Just for a change it's cheaper on Amazon (less than £20) than any of the Ebay sellers. Bit of a bargain I'd say. 50 years between this and the original release, so I've no idea how it compares, but sounds pretty good to me.

I'm the same. I have many "Best of ..." Albums, where I like the artist, but not enough to buy the catalogue to root out the gems.

I really rate him, in the same way and for the same reasons as I rate Dr. John.

I really rate him, in the same way and for the same reasons as I rate Dr. John.
As I must have mentioned before, Tom Waits was recommended to me around 50 years ago by someone who knew my tastes in music. And in many ways it was a sensible suggestion as I liked what he sung about. Sadly however, I simply cannot stand the sound of his voice!
It is a shame as I really like Ricky Lee Jones and Dr. John, but not Tom Waits. My loss.

It is, I've had it decades but the sticker on the front says it only cost me three quid. Probably out of one of those CD bargain baskets you used to see in petrol station shops.

Haven't played 'Animals' in ages - so reminded I played it this afternoon. And now I know why it hasn't been played - it's what i would call a "ho hum" LP. IMO most of it is forgettable, in fact only track 4 'Sheep' made me sit up and listen.
Given my disappointment with Pink Floyd's 'Animals', I though I would play a couple of other PF albums which have dropped below the radar. They are:

Really enjoyed this; played reasonably loud, nearly everything caught my attention. I have seen the film twice: first on its release at the cinema in 1969, and the second a rare showing on TV, probably in the '90s.
