tight git!!! Funnily I did same at me daughters, although it was good bourbon in it lol(knew the place wouldnt have any)
They only had 3 Malts at the reception bar and I drank all the Macallan only a couple of Islay Malts left and no bourbon at all - which I am also very fond of.
Nice one Gary, thanks for the heads up, just got a bottle of the Cardhu in Tesco. It was £25.00 and I had a voucher for £4 off if you spent £30, but it said not for alcohol. I bought some fruit and veg which took me over £30, and using the self scan hand scanners it took the voucher at the self serve till! Bonus, a nice bottle of single malt for £21.00, happy bunny :)

Its a good malt at a (non spendy) price Marco, let us know how you like it.

Yesh, I'm president of the local hand-scanner appreciation society now, I'll have you know!
My favourite is the new Siemens T40Z007654K [Mark III in piano pink, of course]. It not only scans your shopping, but loads it into your car afterwards, pops you into the driving seat and fastens your seatbelt, just before giving you a blowjob...
Shall I reserve one for you? :D
Marco.
one of these ? ..

Mental... Would you bang it, then?
Marco.
It's probably too fragile to take much punishment.* It's not a pleasure model.
*Although I suppose it depends on who's doing what to whom.
*that point when you realise you've walked in on someone elses in-joke......awkward
Just the last bit for me please Marco

cheers Robin. It was rather nice and warming. a splash of water and a little air and quarter cask is a super whisky
Seems to be a day for booze arriving at Casa Rich. My parents just turned up with a mixed crate of very nice looking wines (I'm no expert unfortunately). Very kind of them and a complete surprise. Then a delivery driver comes with my order of Old J spiced rum, introduced to me by Mr Jollyfix of this parish. Then my beer club crate arrives with a nice selection of craft brews for me to sample. Looking like it might be a very merry Christmas after all.

Had a skin full of very nice pale ale from the Wye valley last night so might take it a bit easier tonight.

Not had a maccy d in years, literally. IIRC they are a quite effective laxative.
The 'fries' were rank, btw, didn't even finish them.
I miss Wimpy with waitresses and the tomato sauce in a big plastic tomato. We need to get back to that, somehow, as a society.
It was better in a plastickey, tomatoey, waitressy sort of way.
I'm not really sure where I'm going with this.

Guess I'll be obliged to do the honours when the family come back (probably Boxing Day). There's a turkey crown in the freezer that'll do, got spuds, just need some parsnips and brussels, etc. They'll be wanting me to do it 'cos I'm the best cook :). (I'd settle for a sarnie personally)
i use bottled water Gary, as Ive always got a bottle beside me. Drink gallons of the stuff...lol

Just considering an early start today, Xmas day was a bit crap, I'm told I was grumpy (think it was because I was away from my tunes..)

Might have been done at bottling. Some have a fair bit in bottom. Taylors on ive got has lots. If in doubt pop it in a decanter if youve got one, or you can temp put it in a jug and clean bottle out. Marco will know as think hes been drinking that.
You might be ok with a 20-year old Tawny, but you'll probably still get a little sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Decanting also improves the flavour :)
The 41 year-old Dow's we had on Christmas day was, in terms of sediment, as crusty as an old pair of tart's knickers! Lovely though, minus the fishy residue... :eyebrows:

I asked the doctor to prescribe a steroid cream for the ear. After a week on co-amoxiclav, which did nowt but give me the shits, within four hours the ear has all but stopped weeping and hearing is starting to return. Note cream also has an anti-biotic in too.
Three weeks of ear weeping, now coming to an end this stuff is going to work.

Funny as I fancy some meat and I'm not really a big meat eater... I've found some spare ribs so they might do the trick... I feel so slovenly
I have broccoli with mine, seems to sort that problem.

Get a 2 litre bottle of the cheapest super strength cider you can find and do the lot. That one in the blue bottle that looks like drain cleaner. That will dissolve it.

I'm running out fast...
I resupplied earlier. Hell of a week and a 90 minute commute home didn't help. Not had one all week but it is Friday night, the greatest of all the nights and the longest possible time before more work, so it's obligatory.
Hell of a week and a 90 minute commute home didn't help.
90 minute - where were you then, daftee?
I had a hell of a 'commute home' today, too... All the way from the back garden to the living room! :eyebrows:

At work as normal. Only takes an hour and a quarter to walk home, so walking actually becoming quicker than car. Traffic has gone crazy here in the last year.

Didn't think your workplace was as far away... Yes, I noticed the traffic levels when I first visited, and you say it's got worse? Wrexham is a haven of tranquility in comparison. Not fancy getting a bicycle? Sounds like it would be the ideal solution! :)

Bicycle? I'd rather stick pins in my eyes.
For years there was no work around here and it was as quiet as the grave. Now it has gone crazy busy the road network cannot cope.

Make hay eh? Lol.
There used to be a couple of empty floors in the office block I work in, did think about moving in to one of them. Big place, no-one would have noticed. Kitchen and shower facilities all there.
Very handy, get up, walk down one flight of stairs and you're at your desk. No muss, no fuss. Sadly they've let all the empty offices out now.
had a half, and half way through a beer... was in the mood. first for a while..

Just back with some remedies :)
Quite mild out, didn't need to zip up my coat. Passed a load of blokes on their way to nightshift. Felt a bit guilty, nothing worse than going to nightshift and and passing people with a bunch of beers off for a good night in.
Passed a load of blokes on their way to nightshift.
How could you tell? Did they just have that 'blokey nightshift' look - or were they wearing some kind of uniform?
Just enjoying a wee nip of a recently purchased Lagavulln 16... Lovely! :)

Overalls, boots and hi rez jackets? And yes they were on their way in, not home, A man has a certain spring in his step when on his way home. They didn't. Plus they'd be going in the wrong direction.

They could've been going to a fancy dress party! :D

Sipping a very nice Montepulciano d,abruzzo called Castlellore from Aldi. Very nice indeed, I like these medium bodied Italian wines. Usually this wine can be a bit blahh at this price(£3.70) but this is rather good.

Agree, we've had this one before. For the price, and with a nice meat/pasta dish it is lovely
Matching the wine to the food. Too advanced for me.

You seem to be heading in the right direction now.....
It's a touch peatier than I'd otherwise normally choose, but the richness of the overall flavour overrides that. Defo a keeper, and one that I'll regularly reserve in my 'collection'.
I like to keep stock of three different malts in the house, so currently apart from the Lagavulin, I've got an Aberlour 10 and a The Balvenie 15-year old. I select them depending on mood.... :)
Marco.
Try a 15 or higher sherry cask Glengoyne mate. Think youd like it
Most likely, as I think you've got a good handle on my palate. I'll try one of those next! :)
Marco.
Well, as its birth day, and i was on malt yesterday, and Ive just eaten several horses, Im having a Jacky Daniels... think its good for the digestion ;)

Oi! I've been quietly having my first beer for a week or two. Quite enjoying it actually. Mustn't overdo, I'm up earlyish tomorrow.
I do find that after a period of abstinence that first one does taste like nectar.
