A can of Bud tonight instead of the titchy bottles:lol:
Tis about that time of night.
Wouldn't want to add up how much money I've spent boozing over the years. I could have retired to Monaco by now.

The rest is going down the sink ;)
Not good i know i haven't had a cider all week thought i would be nice change that will teach me...
Cider not beer, there's your mistake. That shit'll kill you faster than cyanide. Unless you have that Devon scrumpy where it is the cyanide in it that kills you.
No-one ever got headache from Guinness*
* may not be true.
Lagavulin 16, few drams...
Present to myself for the new job (ps I'm not still "aff it")
A couple of glasses of
2008 Chateau Larose-Trintaudon, Haute Medoc. :)
On 2nd week of Lent, so no alcohol for another 3 weeks yet! :(
Good job I'm not addicted to it (or anything else for that matter)... ;)
Marco.
Just having a little one... :)
Yes, mini-cucumbers are quite juicy! :D:eyebrows:

Try an aspirin. It works far better for toothache than paracetamol (which you shouldn't combine with alcohol anyway).

It can irritate the stomach.
But both paracetamol and alcohol stress the liver and in combination can be dangerous.

I'll definitely leave off the paracetamol then... I don't want to 'stress' my liver...;)
A good cold remedy I've used for years is freshly squeezed orange juice laced with vodka. Pint glass of, mixed about 80/20. No need for any pills after that, The vodka dulls the discomfort while the Vit C from the juice, drunk and running amok, gets right stuck in to the cold germs. No pills required.

Well you can't drive anyway you are on your sickbed.
Daytime TV choice is important to recovery too. Old episodes of 'Magnum P.I' will speed recovery whereas watching 'Star Trek: The Lame Generation' will retard it. I have all of this research scientifically documented.

Fancied a Bank Holibags dram and went on the lookout for this based on your post Grant. :)
Unfortunately the local Asdashire didn't have any in stock so took a punt on an Ardmore Legacy they had on sale for £20?
https://img.thewhiskyexchange.com/900/ardob.non1.jpg
Had a couple of nips tonight...whoa, this is really good stuff.
Strong peat without the hospital bandage aftertaste, but a spicy vanilla sweetness instead...reminds me of the Ardberg 10 but at half the price.
Be happy drinking either when Im feeling peaty, but the Ardmore gets my vote as nothings really missing and it's half the Ardberg's price.
Glad your able to enjoy a nice drop again mate.
How you doing Gaz? Are you going to be at NEBO?

Nice....
Me too. Been dry all week then overdid it a bit last night.
Water is good, cleans you out. Tap water here is very good quality, always comes out cold even in the summer.
Will have a few bevvies tomorrow instead as no work on Monday.
Our water is decent but a bit soft for my liking. I drink bottled stuff by the gallon. Usually English from say Derbyshire as its got lots of minerals.
My neighbour does that, Evian by the gallon. He reckons they put stuff in the tap water to make you more docile. I asked him what made him think they aren't putting it in the Evian too LOL
Ninanina
29-04-2017, 22:20
I hate tap water.... much prefer the stronger stuff to be honest... :D
LOL.... maybe he's right. The minerals, or some of them are good at protecting your liver if you rink a bit. Its one of the reasons us scots suffer more from liver problems as our water doesnt have any due to our rock formations.

Only 2.8% but the tag line is 'fully flavoured' and it is. In a bottle, needed to find my Swiss army knife to get into it. Not had beer in a bottle in quite a while.

Lol... Dry is an accurate description, which for me is a good thing, as is the gingery bit. Quite fiery, too! I hate sugary, sweet-tasting bland ginger beers. I like to feel a bit of 'heat' on the back of my throat when drinking the proper variety!

Just looked at forecast for next few days in Portsmouth and it looks good at least until Wednesday/Thursday so hopefully will be out on new little boat in the harbour, can't wait.... :)
Will be doing some fishing at my 'secret' spot as well so hopefully will catch some nice sea bass for the bbq... tasty, very tasty... :D
I also know where in the harbour to get some lovely razor fish/clams/shells.... I will have salt at the ready!... getting them is a real crack- up... when I first got them I nearly wet myself with laughter ...

Exhaust on a Matiz shouldn't break the bank Dan. I put a rear/middle exhaust on an Alto about a year ago for around £20.

Yikes - :) thats more like it this one is £300 Parts labor ETC but reputable garage we have used them for years. If you lived in bournemouth Geoff i would have you fit it....maybe i need to learn to fit myself...:)

They've probably quoted for the whole lot, including catalyser, lambda sensor and new hangers & gaskets, etc. Still pricey though.

Dan that does sound very expensive... a complete exhaust for Matiz is about £60 on eBay and I can't imagine it would cost £140 to fit it.. they seem to throw them on in no time at all.... Sometimes using the same garage is not always the best/cheapest way
Just a thought... and not being funny is the car worth spending £300 on if you can get it done cheaper.. ? ;)
