For me stuff like The beatles/Stones is better suited to vinyl, although I have Abbey rd on cd, but that has a warmer sound overall. The white album I couldn't even manage on vinyl, just sold it. The thing with vinyl is it seems to place the music better, its more grounded, on CD you've got all those 1s and 0s flying around and it just sounds edgy, impossible with classical too, may be its my hearing, I'm quite sensitive in public places to people who have their mobile phone on loud speaker for instance. Of course buying on cd is much cheaper, and I will continue to buy them in some cases, just got 3 'This mortal coil' cds, I have their first lp original, that was mint, a rare find. It was 10x the cost of the cds though. Life's too short for seeking out first pressings of anything you like.
