I should have posted yesterday, when I was awake at 3am, or the days before this initiative started.
Today it's now 6:19, so hardly counts. Raining again. Usually wake up once or twice for a pee, but quite often then do reading, or eating, or having a hot drink.

All this sleeping :doh:I've been awake for an hour or more - maybe two or even two and a half hours.
People who don't sleep well apparently don't live so long, on the whole. This concerns me, though I'm now starting to outlive many others.

Managed to sleep in a not very comfortable bed, too soft, in hotel in Aberystwyth. Woke at 12:15 as too hot, had cuppa and got back to sleep, might have been due to the 5 hour drive and early start yesterday. Back home early this morning.
What is it you do, Adrian? That's a hell of a lot of travelling!!
Just up, after going to bed at 10pm. That's just over 10 hours of snoozage, so not the longest for me... Could easily go back to bed for another hour, but I've got the coffee on:)

Suppose to be getting over a triple bypass in Feb this year. Only been at work 10 weeks out of the last year, tic toc!
Had to do an important visit to Sue’s close relation, she is not the mos confident driver so I pulled the stops out. I was a bit concerned about the forecast weather, but we missed the worst of it. Plus the road in Wales were empty from 10 till 12:30, I wonder why.

Working again tonight  One more week of nightshift then back on to days for a few weeks until phased retirement for three months :)
Hope you have a swift recovery Adrian . My older brother went through a similar operation around the same time as you and it isn't a small procedure is it ? That's what prompted me to retire in February .
Only problem is he lives in Cornwall so I haven't been able to see him in person since the operation .
Night shift for me too.
Last one thankfully, off for 4 days now
What do you work as, Gary? Just off to bed now - late one for me!

Brian,
Thanks for your good wishes. Having had 3 angioplasties ops (stents) in 2016 got better and then relapse resulting in the Bypass surgery, I feel I have been through the mill over the last 3 years, but I can see light through at the end of the tunnel now, its never going to be perfect but I am still here and happy with that. I return to work part time tomorrow.
I wish your brother all the best, its not always straight forward but is in most, the best thing he can do is attend the cardiac rehab classes to get going again, it helps physically and mentally as you get to swap stories and issues with others that have been through the same.
Thanks
Adrian
Yup, it goes without saying that I wish you guys all the best, and anyone else currently suffering from health problems.
Marco.

It’s featured on the menu a couple of times and was very tasty but there’s always been some derivative of spiced chicken available and it’s always been good.

This insomniacs' club is really appealing, and I would love to become a member, it would be like a pyjama party but without the busted pillows. I have considered setting my alarm to get me up at 2am, but I suppose that's cheating, also Mrs. P would think I'm just a sad git :(

I expect you insomniacs will be tucked up in your beds by now, so I may be talking to myself, but I'll tell you about my job title for today (and yesterday) - chaperone.
My mate has this job of applying some stuff called Nexus into the pointing of a big drive's flags - great stuff but pretty expensive. It goes off so quickly that applying it is a two-man job just to keep up. So I've helped him before with this.
But the main reason I'm on this particular job is because the lady whose house it is frightens him to death. He's done work there before, and each time she has become increasingly flirty. And when he went to survey this job last month, she'd clearly given some thought to what best to wear. Which was pretty much nothing.
This dress/nightie/whatever was so see-through it may has well not been there, and barely covered her arse, made more interesting by her going "commando". She was constantly touching his arm and brushing against him, then when she bent over to point out something to him  he didn't know whether to park his bike there or make a run for it. (he swears it winked at him). Instead he phoned me, and when I told him I wouldn't be clear to help for at least 3 weeks he was still happy with that.
I'm used to customers being happy to see me, but when we arrived yesterday she came to the door wearing a sweatshirt, some old jogging pants and a disappointed look.
Lol. Tell him to just point the cracks up with his trowel. Ner

Apparently United Utilities wrote to Marco asking him to move his dump times to the wee small hours, due to the excessive number of flushes required making it harder for the rest of Wrecsam. They were considering a hosepipe ban, but then hit on the idea of giving him an Economy 7 style water meter, knowing it would appeal to Marco's er, "canny" nature :)

Done a bit of "swamp logging" myself after my breakfast :D Mrs. P was up at 4 to clear the living room of stuff in readiness for some guy coming to clean suite and carpets. She left moving the hifi stuff to me, so that's not happening. He'll just have to clean around it. Moved the speakers against the wall though, and that's enough for me. Need a lie down now.

Nah, her insomnia has been terrible lately, a side effect of all the various meds. I said I'd get up half an hour early to shift stuff, but when I got up at 6am she'd already done that, and was busy watching "The Walking Dead". She'd also cleaned the kitchen cupboards. And the bathroom. And prepped the evening meal. All stuff she would normally be doing in the daytime.
By the time I left for work she'd also emptied all the crap out of the car in readiness for the valeting guy calling. Busy little bees these insomniacs :)

Whichever ones are biggest. Big is good, bigger is better :)
Lol... Still, it can't be good for her getting such little sleep. Sleep is very important for your health. Respect though for liking The Walking Dead... It's one of our favourite programmes!:respect:

I've never heard proper Tannoys before, so I'm hoping you do your Kegworth thing again next year, and bring 'em with you. I promise I'll bring you more cake if you do :)
Oh, and my mistake - it wasn't the Impulse I meant to call dibs on earlier. Never heard any, though no doubt they're great. No, it's the Ushers I meant, which I did hear at Kegworth (if my memory's not letting me down) :)
Her name isn't 'Rudi', is it?
Is that some kind of 'in joke'? Please explain.
Marco.
It refers to someone called Rudi on A N Other forum who's always up at 5am waxing floors, valeting cars etc etc.
I had a feeling that's who you were referring to, but just wanted it confirmed.
Please don't mention that scumbag here again. You know that he was responsible for trolling me for years, and in the process subjecting me to the most vile personal attacks imaginable (as you participated in the thread here I started about it). And even though you were joking, I doubt that Steve would appreciate his wife in any way, joking or otherwise, being associated with that scum.

Apart from Marco, whose farts are so dense they sometimes just fall to the ground, I would expect most farts to be lighter than air.
A couple of questions then:
Would real stinker farts be heavier than benign farts, due to have a larger number of stink molecules?
How many farts would be required to make an 8Kg cat airborne? I may use the cat for early experiments, as she is better at landing on her feet if it were to go wrong.

Oh no, in the interests of fire safety I would be collecting the farts in yet-to-be-calculated number of balloons, then suspend the cat from a secure harness. I wouldn't want people to think I was ill-treating my pets - my earlier experiments to see how many chillis mashed into the dog's food would cause smoke to issue from his bum never happened, it was actually a malicious rumour...

Worse , The Committee decided it needed a building site pallet loading machine £10 K
The Club has managed for 50 years without this type of machine ,
The Botswain justified it by saying
1 We can fit a man cage and use it to maintain the CCTV , NO we pay for a service contract
2 We can maintain the yard lighting , NO we pay a qualified electrician to do this
3 We can move blocks around the yard on pallets " Im getting to old for this lifting he said " Me How are you going to get the blocks on the pallets , NO answer
4 We can lower and raise members masts , Me They do it already with a A frame for free and would not want to pay
5 We can lift member engines out , ME we have a big 3 tone tasted frame that the member can use , correct me if im wrong , YOU used it 4 weeks ago !
I then ask , has anyone asked our insurance Co what it will cost to insure , Answer NO
Has anyone found out the maintanance cost per year , Answer NO
Me Who will be certificated to drive the machine , Answer Don't need that as its private land , ME no its council land the we lease
All other machines at the club produce income , This £10K machine won't it will be a liability
God help us all

Ah that's a shame, they speak so highly of you :)
I always imagined you being like a Sheldon with a Scottish accent :D And if you don't know who Sheldon is, you clearly have never watched the show, and can't know for certain that you detest it. Maybe it's an acquired taste and just needs an educated palette, like some foods/drinks you may recommend. Instead of just going "Oh crap, it's American" and changing channels, give it a go. Like wines, they're not all going to be shit :)
I would say that in recent times, American comedy has had more going for it than British stuff.
Anyway, what you doing up at this time? Watching "Duty Free" or some other British comedy classic, or just pooed the bed again?

Yesh, I detected an aroma of putrified stewed prunes and noticed that the sheets underneath felt a bit shlippy on my bottee, and thish time it washn't shweat...
No, I was awake, so just got up. I was in bed at 10pm. Contrary to what you think, I don't have 'lie ins'. If I'm sleeping, I sleep, and if I'm awake, I get up. Simples:)
I've heard of the name Sheldon, but couldn't tell you who he was. I've watched about 10 mins of TBBT, and that was enough. I'm just not big on what in general Americans find funny, and so for example dislike 90% of their stand-up comedians. The only American sitcom I really enjoyed was Cheers. That worked.
I also liked Moonlighting, and giggled occasionally at Mork & Mindy, but that's about it. In general, I just find the humour 'zany' in the wrong way and rather cringeworthy. Friends, I utterly detested, and don't talk to me about mind-numbing drivel, such as The Simpsons!
Duty Free? That was ok (a bit twee). If you're going 'retro', them Fawlty Towers was more my thing.
Marco.

Not liking American comedy is a bit like not liking The Beatles - every one is different. "Helter Skelter" is nothing like "Something", which is nothing like "Eleanor Rigby". If people were honest, they might say they didn't like the band, but do like some of their songs.
Similarly, "Big Bang Theory" is nothing like "My Name is Earl", which is very different to "Frazier". And Modern Family, The Sarah Silverman Programme, Taxi and Silicon Valley could hardly be called formulaic.
But as I write this I realise there is actually a lot of decent British comedy. I say British rather than English. Chewing The Fat and Still Game were funny. Two Doors Down though just isn't funny. It's the same jokes every week, just dressed up different. Strangely Anita likes that one best, but then she hates The Beatles, so her opinion doesn't count :(

Lol... It's American humour I generally dislike and don't really find funny. And I've never even heard of the comedies mentioned, which I've highlighted. The rest I wouldn't give 'house room', including, as an aside, Hill Street Blues, which everyone was raving about in the 80s!
I love all the Scottish comedies you've mentioned. Also check out Burnistoun [you'll get some episodes on YouTube], which can be pant-wetingly hilarious! In terms of more 'British comedies', I also loved Little Britain, The League of Gentleman, The Fast Show, Alexei Sayle, The Young Ones, plus a few others. Father Ted also raised a few titters.
Oh, and I love The Beatles, and own virtually all of their output, mostly on vinyl, but also on CD (and streamed files):)

I always wake up 2 or 3 times during the night, and the cause is usually cramp in one leg or the other, or needing a pee. My bowels should have a word with bladder - they thoughtfully leave me be until breakfast time :)
Mrs P reckons the cramp is due to not enough fluids or too much salt. I don't believe this and haven't found anything to support this theory online, and when I tried drinking more I just needed to get up for a pee more often. I really can't win :steam:
Reading my book gets me back to sleep quite easily though, once the cramp has subsided. And I really should try them nappies that Marco swears by. If they really can hold in his number twos, they must be pretty good :)

These are listed and one talked about swelling in tongue/throat, best to talk with your GP, as is a Calcium blocker, it seems these class of drugs can have more side affects than others see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcium_channel_blocker
More common side effects
The more common side effects that can occur with amlodipine include:
swelling of your legs or ankles
tiredness or extreme sleepiness
stomach pain
nausea
dizziness
hot or warm feeling in your face (flushing)
irregular heart rate (arrhythmia)
very fast heart rate (palpitations)
abnormal muscle movements

My mate's wife has (I think it's called) Celiac disease, and can't have gluten. A right pair! She gets this gluten-free bread, and I would rather eat old shoes, or do without altogether.
What does yeast intolerance look like? I don't know about that one.
Al - next time I'll fetch sugar free cake, if there is such a thing :)
Woo Hoo :D

It’s two in the morning,
And I’m still yawning, tick-tock
My belly is churning,
And it just won’t stop, tick-tock
tick-tock
My skin is crawling,
The itching is worse, tick-tock
Cardiac drugs regulate,
But they degenerate, tick-tock
tick-tock
Head is spinning,
Pressure is dipping, tick-tock
Walking round the room,
Peering through the gloom, tick-tock
tick-tock
Pop a pain killer,
Time to wait for relief, tick-tock
Lay down in peace,
Time to forget this grief, tick-tock
tick-tock

Thanks Grant.
Not really, there are many I am sure who have a harder time than me. I was just passing the time playing with rhymes in mind and writing down to express how I feel sometimes, and probably many others. Funny I never did poetry before but I find it quite recuperative. Maybe it’s a positive distraction that focuses my mind away from not feeling good.
All the best.[emoji4]
They are good.
Mine are to dirty to print

Sat on her tuffet
her knickers all tattered and torn
it wasn't the spider, that sat down beside her
It was little boy Grant with his horn...:eyebrows:
There was an old whore from Berlin
who had an enormous great quim
it wasn't the size that attracted the flies
but the jelly that hung round the rim!
Boom, boom:D
Marco.

Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep and doesn't know where to find them,
But we all know, don't we Marco,
She shouldn't have agreed to let you mind 'em :)

Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard to get the poor doggy a bone,
And when she bent down and the dog came around, and he gave her a bone of his own
