Me too, and it's great! The only time I don't get a solid 9/10 hours is during the summer, when the pissing 'bedroom' [read as oven] I'm attempting to sleep in in prevents it!;)

And my body wasn't telling me to sleep, I woke at normal time (6.30), but thought "What's the point getting up? Not working, to early to play music, and it's shit outside". I can just go back to sleep (and did), but normally I'd choose not to.

I'm off over to Nelson in a couple of hours, to look at some vans, hoping it's not too snowy over there. And by the time we get back it'll be late enough for some tunes :carrot:

The only hi-fi thing I've ever skipped were some Amstrad speakers that a lodger left behind. They did work but had holes in them where mice had been at them at some point in the dim and distant.

Used them as surround speakers for a while, plugged the holes with blu-tak.

Signs like this were everywhere. When visiting a market near Bodrum, I bartered a genuine fake Harley Davidson belt buckle down from £40 down to £2.50. Actually he did all the haggling, all I had to do was lose interest. He chased me through the market and wouldn't stop until I'd bought it.

I went into another shop there, and the young guy working there took a shine to my crappy £30 'Animal' sunglasses. I gave him the glasses, and from his reaction a passerby would assume I'd donated a kidney to his poorly son. Nice people ime.

I've had some corking Christmas presents from my dad over the years, but one of the best was some "Denim" aftershave. Although I'd had a full beard for some years. I got through it by pouring it into my bath water. Smelt quite nice, and I was sorry when it ran out a couple of days later.

As weird as it may sound, the fruits and vegetables in the produce aisle at the grocery store are still alive. So alive, in fact, that they still have "internal clocks" that respond to the environment. They actually die when they hit the stomach...or so im told..

not that im against vegetable eating. I eat more veg than meat probably.. and less meat each year. But if everyone stops eating meat, then pigs and cattle for example will just cease to be. But im all for reducing meat eating as its better for your health:)

Hi, hope your good. I can see the end in sight now, got rid of builders a week ago and plasterer finished off kitchen, bathroom and lounge Mon to Wed last week, I relayed part of the parquet flooring in the lounge that I had to take up yesterday. We also now have all new windows.

We currently have a make do loo and shower which the plumber will remove Monday so the flooring can be laid in the bathroom, should have working loo and bath back on Tuesday. Later in the week tiling it out. We have a make shift kitchen with half old units, new ones arrive on 22 March, and we I will have help fitting.

I reckon the main rooms will be finished by early May with just the bedrooms and hallway to decorate. We can the do one at a time.

I will have the hifi up and running before then and have a few days relaxing I think.

It was a very thick one that I put down in Irene's room as she loved deep reds.

Nobody checked in here for quite a while!

I was OK up till tonight, but had an idea yesterday to liven up my lethargy. Spent 4 minutes on the exercise bike earlier in day - I know - not long - but not done for quite a while.
Then spent another 4 minutes just before I went to bed, thinking it would put me to sleep.

Instead of that I woke up with muscle pain an hour or so after going to sleep, so had to get up to take Ibuprofen. Hopefully that'll kick in soon, and I'll shorten my visit to these parts.

I wake most nights due to the usual angina issues, at the moment I am waking more due tennis elbow, which is a real nuisance. I usually manage to get back to sleep after a pain killer.

Checking back in - first time here in August. I think it's due to an allergy - had to get up to take an anti-histamine pill. I was hoping to get away with not taking one before bed last night, but it hasn't worked.

Most likely the low voltage cable has a fault, so I'll cut it in the suspected area - indicated by some visible damage, and rejoin it, and see if the lights come on in the base station. I may have to buy a new cable, but that's cheaper than a new mower or other options, though I might be able to get a good enough join in the cable we have to be at least a semi-permanent solution.

Well - writing that filled a few minutes - so time to do a few more things before deciding that I need to head back to bed.

Until recently I would always have a cereal supper (usually corn flakes or Shreddies) before bed, as I found getting off to sleep easier when not feeling peckish.

Not any more - now my supper consists of a glass of orange juice to wash down a couple of paracetamols. Makes for a much more comfortable sleep, with the added bonus that I have lost ten pounds in just a couple of months :) Though the orange juice does nothing to alleviate my need for a 5 am piss. Can't have everything I suppose.

Sorry to have woken you up. I was asleep again from 5.30-9am.

I have tried eating before going to sleep - and also drinking - water or similar not alcohol. May be coincidental, but sometimes messing around with food or drink seems to cause me to wake up with a very dry mouth, so not only have to get up to pee, but also to try to alleviate the mouth issue - probably with more liquid.

Generally I don't take any paracetamols or ibubrofen unless I have a specific pain or problem which requires those.
