Hahaha... LOVE the expression on his cute little face!!
"Who do YOU think you're looking at, buster...??"
The thing I most love about cats, compared with dogs, is their inherent aloofness, fierce sense of independence (often snooty superiority), and the fact that you NEVER own a cat; it OWNS you!!

I love that, they will go exactly where they want. I find it amusing watching Mia move around the place to bask in the sun light through different windows.
Worth their weight in gold sometimes
Mine would lie in front of the fire until he was roasting, then he'd move away about five feet and lie down again. After a bit he would get cold so he'd move right back in front of the fire again. He'd repeat that about 3 times an hour. He never figured it out to lie at a spot where he would not get too hot or too cold.
Woke up this morning to Mia had made herself very comfortable on the table. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200506/13cb1b0ec67591523d7254e327ffd6a6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200506/28665863a6a57d4b37364b183c1fe413.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200506/7aeb05702ea63f3352c30f37be2a1065.jpg

Lol, well I could give it go, but not day in, day out, like cats...
My 'sleepyhead highlights' include once falling asleep UPRIGHT in church, at a 3-hour long mass during Lent, one night sleeping right through our burglar alarm going off, and as a teenager sleeping through an (albeit fairly minor) motorway collision, in the front seat of my dad's car, whilst on holiday in Italy.
And my 'record sleep' occurred one day during November 2009, when including a 2-hour afternoon nap, I slept in total for 15 hours.
Hey, it's what helps keep me looking young!:D:eyebrows:

When in college I regularly fell asleep during lessons, at work I'd sometimes nod off while standing (I was always awoken by my legs buckling though), my daughters stopped going to the cinema with me because "I was embarrassing", and last year I slept through much of a funeral service.
I once went to the doctor about my sleeping problem (I was about 20 years old) and his reply was "So what are you after, sleeping tablets, amphetamines? You're not the first person to come in here trying it on", and sent me packing. Sort of coloured my view of GPs.
Lol.... Thing is, I almost never fall asleep when I'm out and about (other than on the rare occasions I'm a passenger in a car, where at some point sooner rather than later, I'm destined to nod off).
It's just that when I go to bed, that's me out for the count for at least 9 hours (of deep sleep), and after that, if I wanted to sleep further (for any reason, say passing the time on a train journey or on a plane), or even if I'm outside somewhere and it's nice and sunny, say lying on the grass in a park, I could do so easily.
I've always loved my sleep and genuinely look forward to going to bed every night:)

I’ll be wearing welding gauntlets when i apply the treatments to her neck.
And to answer a question that no one asked, she’s called Eva because when i got her i asked my friends to name her and they all said Hitler (google cats that look like Hitler, it’s funny), obviously i couldn’t call her that, so Eva was close enough.

Reminds me of something else.
In the late 60's I built a Mini, had a bored out MG1100 engine which I had carefully rebuilt. It was a Cooper S eater, but looked completely standard from the outside. My friend did not believe that it was fast. Took him for a ride in it. His comment was;
"Sounds like a Spitfire, and I don't mean a Triumph Spitfire"
I still have the Mini, would like to rebuild it if I have the energy!

There really was only that design of cabinet, recommended unit was the cheap but good Elac 8N148/8N185 or the Lowther PM6 (expensive).
What is not shown on that drawing is the small amount damping that was fitted near the drive unit. 1 Watt in to this speaker provided quite a good sound level, and a nice quality.
In later years what Tiddles (mk 2) liked was a palr of Quad 63's (giant scratching posts), me not pleased.

Taking your advice Jon, re the Renault-engined Vitos, and might be going all the way to Milton piggin' Keynes on Sunday to look at a nice one. If it hasn't sold. 66 plate, 80-odd thousand miles, 9k plus the dreaded. I'm ok with that, but it depends what they'll give me for the old 'un.
A pic of the 2 kittens.
The one asleep (Zeus) has been ill for 2 weeks now and the vets have no idea what it is (they suspect it is feline coronavirus but waiting on the final blood results to come back)
He has been through the wars the last 2 weeks with loads of examinations, x-rays, ultrasound etc - missing loads of fur.
Last few days he has seemed a little bit more alert but still has a high temperature and sleeping all the time (apart from eating and shitting ;) )

Problem is there is no known cure for feline coronavirus so fingers crossed it isn't that :(

They look so happy and healthy. I'd love to keep chickens one day but as I currently live in a first floor flat it won't be soon lol. I was made by my parents to do a weekend job on a battery farm when I was a kid. I hated the place, nothing but cruelty and suffering to these tragic birds. Despite my protestations my parents wouldn't let me leave so I went all out to get the sack. I was so happy when the owner ( I won't call him a farmer because that would be and insult to farmers) told me to fuck off after I threw the fork lift keys away and picked a fight with his son (who was a proper shit).

Got a call from the vets on Friday - little Hades has Feline Coronavirus.
Taking him to them on Wednesday to see what we can do (from what I have been told and read, no known cure....)
He's only 18 weeks old - gutted :(
There is a cure (or at least a long term fix, not sure which).
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6435921/
I believe it was legalised earlier this year but you will have to check with the vets.

Thanks for this.
Just read it and the long term results are not in so not sure I would want to put him through that!!
Any way - Very sad day as decided to put Hades down due to his feline coronavirus and him not getting any better (2 weeks later and still a high temperature and losing weight) :(
The picture below was taken just before we took him to the vets - he is the kitten on the left:

Wee shame.. Sorry to hear that
Desperately sorry to hear the sad news Andy. So painful to reach the decision but it's the last act of love and kindness you can do them. RIP dear little soul.
So, so sorry. Keep yer spirits up the best you can.
Many thanks chaps - was a difficult decision and still pondering if we/I did the right thing......

Zeus seems OK so far.
My wife had to go out this afternoon so she let him upstairs this morning - he loved the bathroom.
When my son woke up (he is in the attic bedroom) he went up there. Been asleep under his bed for a good many hours now. Bless him!
Mortimer the other cat seems fine (he was asleep in my sons room on his wash pile :) )

Not content with wanting to eat whatever I'm chowing down on, she's now decided to nick my water..

:mental:
Mine used to do that too. He'd ignore the water put out for him of course.
Mine used to also drink the my water but not done it for some time!
My cat used to try and get the juices out of a pot noodle; chicken ones especially if she got a chance. seemed to love the smell... she got her head wedged in one once and ran off in a panic.. all the juice went all over her:eyebrows: made a mess and she stopped doing it then

Never a truer word spoken.
Its just the indifference that bothers me, but hey, I know my place in my cats life.

Sleeping downstairs with Harry, he’s either strained a muscle in his back or has arthritis, been struggling today. He usually sleeps on the landing, but the stairs are a step too far, so rather than get him stressed I will sleep with him. We have vet appointment next week if he needs it. He stayed by my side when I was ill so it the least I can do for my best friend.

Harry is feeling a bit better after 4 days serious rest and restricted walks. The vet this afternoon checked him out and says she thinks he has a bit of arthritis in his rear hip joints, right worse than left. She has put him on a high does YuMove supplements, only available through veterinary prescription, and also some mild pain relief. Hopefully this will ease it, after some more rest.

My staffy has had arthritis for 5 years, she's 10 in January, started limping in the past year. Vet says just keep an eye on her. I started giving her salmon oil with her food recently, I think it might have started helping already.

I have one. I call her 'The World's most useless dog', as she's a clueless wimp! I'm very nice to her though.

Sorry to hear that Mike. Where do you get the Salmon oil, I might try Harry on some. H is feeling a bit better, we went for a 20 minutes gentle walk in the woods this morning.

Just curious to know if Staffies are prone to arthritis? Ours (Flynn) is only 2 but I'd put him on preventative supplements now if I thought it was a good idea. His mum was pure Staffie but dad was a bit of a lad, as was his dad before him...

I’m no expert but believe any type of dog can develop it with age. This may be helpful

Amazon, just search for salmon oil dogs, I think they like the taste too.
