One very unhappy Orange.fr:(

he came in last night, had his dinner as normal and then settled in his usual place on the sofa. Suddenly noticed he was shaking. Bit of a shock to see half the flesh on his leg exposed, obviously a bit of delayed shock.

Straight to the vet and he was kept in overnight. Good thing I had just sold the REL as the bill used up most of the sale price:eek:

He is going to be a bit upset with the collar, watching him trying to back away from it is rather funny. Poor old lad, a couple of weeks at least until the stitches come out. He won't be going out either which will frustrate him hugely.

We had this gorgeous creature for all of 4 days.... last week...She is a greyhound cross.. and she had the most loving nature.. she just wanted kisses and cuddles all the time... a really lovely doggy..

When we got her home the original owner wanted her back as she missed her too much.... we consider that we have been blessed to have had her for the short time we did.. quite a remarkable dog indeed...

The owner was going to take a job in London which meant she would not have time for both the dog and her young children... she then decided that was not a good idea and didn't take the job and wanted Lola back so we had no choice but to return her... she made quite an impression on us !!

Unfortunately Coal went missing about a month ago and we found out he'd been run over up the top of our road :(

Tiddles, a great friend of my late Mum, many friends, passers by, and me, unexpectedly died last Saturday. She was about 10 years old, I guess she had a coughing fit and could not breath. She very occasionally had these coughing fits, and I would massage her tummy/ chest and that would ease it.

I found her in Mum's bedroom, curled up on a chair. She was buried in the garden, quite a few friends were present. We celebrated her life with a bottle of Moet that I had been saving for Mum's 105th birthday. Mum got close to 103.

Tiddles will be sorely missed.

We are fostering a lovely little lurcher... more Whippet than anything else I reckon... She is a little love and so friendly and is always wagging her tail... We have only had her a couple of days but she is settling in remarkably well....here she is on the beach...

She came with the name Georgie but she doesn' t respond to that name at all.... and as she has the markings of a Tigger that's what we are calling her... or Tiggy or even Tigs.. and she responds better to those names .... :D

We took he into Pets At Home today, to buy a couple of things for her, and all she wanted to do was to make friends with everyone and every dog in there.... the friendliest dog I have ever known... a big softy

Its a not uncommon problem, especially with younger dogs. When out make sure everything is out of reach. When your there, try and get her to bring the found article to you and give a treat for it. She will be finding all your lost things in no time:)

reminds me of a bloke I used to know who decided it was a waste of money buying meat in the shop so decided to go out into the countryside and rustle a cow.

The plan was simple. He had a van and a sledgehammer. Bash cow on head, drag dead cow into van, drive back to town.

So he waits for the middle of the night and then drives out to a field with some cows in it. He gets the sledgehammer, goes up to the nearest cow and bashes it on the forehead with all his force (and he was a big bloke). The cow just looked at him, went ' moooo!' and then wandered off. So he gave it up.

Alfie hasn't been well lately. He's an old boy with hyperthyroidism which means he eats constantly and gets skinny so we've got him on daily meds. Not worth getting him operated on at that age but he's a character . A streetwise ex stray who charmed us and quickly became the boss of all the cats on this manor.

Best way to deal with it, mate. When we lose one of ours, the first thing we do is go along to the local Cat Protection League and get another wee moggie. Helps us deal with the loss, and most importantly, gives a much needed home to another stray kitten :)

Thanks Gaz. Yeah we adopted the other one when we bought our first flat. I was living at my mums for a while and a ginger stray tabby turned up. We moved in and installed a catflap and Alfie came in. We asked all the neighbours who he belonged to and whilst they had all been feeding him nobody knew. He'd been living in someone's shed and compost heap. Winter came and we neutered him so he stayed. He was charming and a real boss of the street. Fiercely territorial but a softy too.

I know its hard loosing any animal, I had a dog for about 8 years and was in bits when he couldn't go on any longer and we had to have him PTS. Id grown up with dogs as a kid but he was very much "my dog", id adopted him from a rescue and
he was my first real pet as an adult living initially on my own and then with my now wife.

As hard as his death was I know he had a great life with me and he was a joy to have around. I couldn't be without a dog around the house and after a bit of time we decided it was time to start a new adventure with a doggie mate :D

And so we now live with Bruce a slightly elderly STB. He was left tied to a rescue centre gate one night covered in bites. We've had him almost 4 years now, he's got a touch of arthritis and last year he had a crutiate operation which he's recovered from well thankfully. He's a lovely mutt.

Lost my Tiddles almost a year ago, she died in her sleep, still upset, but she provided joy to many people including passers by. Afer a few years here where she favoured the back garden, she then favoured the front garden and the attention and love of so many. On telling a couple of neighbours about her sad death, they cried.

Clothes, shoes etc or on my seat, which she got up from fast if i caught her. Lol. I buried her in a snow storm with frozen ground, when i was ill... Damn near killed me too lol

Yes, a year later I'm still finding little bits of fur from Tiddles, she was buried in the back garden, my friend dug the grave. Several people at the funeral, after we enjoyed a bottle of Moet.

The previous Tiddles died in winter too, must have been something like 30 years ago. Frozen ground, I had a terrible job digging the grave

Aye its hard enough in good weather. Only had one good hip at time. They are a big miss, cats and dogs. She was the boss of the street when younger, and had a bit of the Persian in her hence that coat. Sure youve plenty memories of tiddles 1 & 2 to keep them alive for ever... Pics do help. Yeah it's a heartbreaker when we lose them. Still get quite emotional when I think about my beloved Del three years later. Frankie came along and helped lift the sadness. She's a fiesty little critter and very unique too.

He's lovely, and such a great, characterful face. On a different note I had the 2M set up professionally as I just couldn't get it right, it is singing very sweetly now, I've changed the tonearm cable as well and that made a huge improvement.

The vet told me flea collars are rubbish - these days you get some little ampule that you push into the back of the neck. Doesn't hurt the cat although I used to do it when he was eating and distracted so not to upset him.

Also show people that the cat probably belongs to someone, and they are often reflective, can help.

You can get ultra sonic repellers for cats.. My one can be set for cats and has a long mains lead. You can set it up and if you see the one you dont want flick switch.. It goes away and you can leave it off for the good one. It will get the message and not come back. Some are quite sophisticated.
Mine is in loft for birds. Has reduced the problem although it would be more use if i could use all the other bits. Probably needing a new one. There is a setting for different animals you wish to target

Dunno how they are getting in alas.. Even in pitch dark you cant see any daylight through a crack.. They are sneaky buggers lol... This thing has helped a lot so might get an upgraded one. Only using the u sonic bit as dont want to scare myself lol. Sentinals on amazon..lots of differing models

There used to be an enormous cat round my way who would just wander in and sit by the fire, purring away. Sometimes he would go upstairs for a kip. No idea who he belonged to, I just let him get on with it.

That only a multimeter temporarily connected, one can just see it hanging down. It's actually a convenient place for the tyre, doesn't seem to get hot there. Renault engine in the Volvo, not bad actually.

Yes, most things suffered if Tiddles sat on them.

We had an intruder in the kitchen, big black cat, came through the cat flap to eat Tiddles food.

There was a bit of an argument, big black cat decided to go out the cat flap.

Halfway out, Tiddles attacked, clever Tiddles.

Big black cat never came in again!

Thanks, yes she was a looker. Big bugger too. A lot of fluff under that hairy coat too. Vicious though when it suited her.

Wee Shawn here... He died of diabetes alas.. Lovely dog he was. Could run all day, but always came back when called. Miss him, and would get another if I could. Son has a border bitch, who is spoit rotten lol.

She's a Turkish Angora, just happened to move in about 2 years ago and settled in very quickly so we kept her. Was my in laws till they realised it was a longhair and couldn't keep cleaning after it.
Very smart and stubborn it's like she's a little child at times lol

Just found the USB lead for my cheap Fuji camera, been lost for about two years. Hiding on the internal memory which is only accessible using the lead were a few pictures taken before Tiddles died. I was putting together Rogers BBC LS3/6 from bits and pieces collected over about 10 years.

Terrible quality, but the content is OK.

Old boy Chester. Properly ancient, completely deaf, arthritic and now diagnosed with kidney disease. He seems content enough though, spends most of his days in the box by the radiator. Won't eat the special diet from the vets so basically gets whatever he'll eat, usually fish and chicken. Spoilt rotten as we don't know how long he has left. As long as he seems comfortable we're letting him see out his days in warmth and comfort.
