Well I would argue that the views of a self-confessed foodie of Italian heritage who moved to Wales via Glasgow with an exceptional cook for a wife may not be reflected in realityWe will just have to agree to disagree on this, and that's fine as with all things food-related I'm really not that bothered. We would probably find more common ground on the subject of music, which after all is what I joined this forum for
The bit I've highlighted illustrates my point perfectly, that the Brits generally have a broader palette because they are less blinkered to all the wonderful foods the world has to offer!

No that's not what I'm saying, I would never be so disrespectful. Are you saying that the computer (that I employed to more eloquently state my own views) is lying? That AI overview isn't the preaching of a robot's opinion, rather it is an amalgam of many views by actual humans. I certainly wasn't relying on AI to tell me what I already know.
As I have previously stated many times I am no foodie, and so have no dog in the fight, but I am proudly British, so if someone appears to be dissing British culture they should expect some kind of response.
I'll say it one more time: I'm really not that bothered. While others might be busy preparing their next nosebag, I'll be similarly busy slaving over a hot CD player. Horses for courses mate.

Lol, you're saying rather a lot for not being bothered!
I deal in real-life experiences, Steve; that's what matters to me, not what 'computer says'. Btw, I'm not 'dissing' British culture; I'm constructively criticising it.
So, if you're a less-blinkered Brit with a 'broader palette', how often does Anita cook all these wonderful foods the world has to offer - or how often do you seek them out in other ways?Originally Posted by Pigmy Pony
You've already admitted to being picky over foreign food, so I'd argue that that pickiness limits your ability to have a broader palette and be less blinkered.

[need an emoji here to illustrate a head hurting from banging against a brick wall!] I would direct you to the last two lines of post #1043, a point I've made ad nauseum ever since I joined this thread (on your invitation)
But to save you a search, I'll say it again: I'm by no means representative of British food culture, I'm just too picky!
Anita really doesn't have the time to cook all these wonderful foods the world has to offer, she has far too much shit going on in her life like you wouldn't believe.
And to go back to your first line: I really am not bothered - I'm just indulging your favourite two topics - food, and getting into some heavy banter over itAnd that's because I'm a nice person
Nearly lunchtime, which today will be a tuna omelette. Ten minutes prep, ten minutes to eat. Bish bash bosh. Then an hour of tunes while it settles, then off to the gym. That's what my afternoon looks like.

Well one thing I think we can all agree on, is that based on the posts, Del is an amazing cook and Marco is a very lucky boy! Some really good looking food, which I find all the more admirable with Del being vegetarian.
Tamzin is 18 today, I officially now have an adult daughter!
We’re out for a meal tonight to the Coach and Horses in Woodbridge, which is her choice as we have been there many times for family meals and celebrations. But because we made a bit of a weekend of it, I gave her the choice of meals for Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday she chose her second favourite meal - Beef Wellington - I should have cut it in half to show the steak and filling, but that would have spoiled my air vent “design”!
Berni Inn tomatoes especially done for Marco’s entertainment! [emoji846]
Any guesses as to what yesterday was - her favourite ever meal?
Alex
