Thought I'd go with a bit of Strolling Bones too. A 'best of' LP that hasn't seen daylight for about four decades.

Saw the CD of that the other day, £2.50 I didn't get it though. They had a copy of Jimmy Nail 'Crocodile Shoes' - nearly got it for you but thought you'd probably want it on vinyl.

Got a VG vinyl copy of 'Emotional Rescue' you can have that next time you're down here.

It seems every time I visit you end up one record poorer, but I appreciate the gesture As for Crocodile Shoes, well, I'm all nailed out - Auf Weidersehen Pet and Spender is all the Jimmy Nail I need.

Mine probably used to be Age of Love by Age of Love but occasionally when on a night out I'd hear something else that was my favourite at that moment. Until the next track came in [emoji23] Like Energy Flash by Joey Beltram.

On our club nights there were certain tracks that were guaranteed to fire us up, Xpansions 'Move Your Body', 'Bells of NY' by Slo Moshun and 'Back by Dope Demand' by King Bee were ones that come to mind. Those were the days

That is how I remember it, though it must be nearly 50 years since I last heard it. There were a few vinyl "bargains" about in the 70s, another being a reggae sampler record on Virgin called "The Front Line", which was just 99p. Also Pink Floyd's "Relics" was only 99p.

I've just had a look at my two copies and to my surprise find they are both first pressings i.e. A1-U, B1-U. So they would be worth about £50 each on the used market, not that that interests me.

What did interest me was the term "pinch pleat spine" used to describe the appearence of the spine of the record sleeve. The top 1" and bottom 1" of the spine are indeed pressed flat as in a pinched pleat in dressmaking. It was not a term I had heard of before, but is often used as a homonym for 'first pressing'.

Sadly my copy of Relics (MFP 50397) is a somewhat later pressing: A-3, B-5. Shouldn't be surprised as the title on the front of the sleeve: "Relics Pink Floyd" is coloured in pink, whereas in the original issue it is black and white, like the rest of sleeve artwork.

Yeah my copy of Relics was an early one, just black and white. Though some folk I knew coloured theirs in themselves I agree about record values, won't make any difference to me, maybe Anita or some other next-of-kin will benefit, but I'll be gone by then.
