Don't know whether you've read the earlier posts (forgive me if you have) but Jerry suggested listening to JMJ 'cos he knows I'm very familiar with how it should sound as I had mentioned that my set up appeared to have developed a boomy bass when playing Streisand's new CD. I now know the CD is faultier than my set up.

Why is the CD faulty? It could be there is more low bass on the Streisland CD and your setup with 2132 is incapable of reproducing it properly...if the bass becomes more controlled with the volume turned down then that indicates to me a problem somewhere....IE the 2132
or you may have an issue elsewhere.... I find the 2132 has a similar effect in my system.....
