I also added 2405 slot tweeters with an N8000 crossover. Ultimately they were very close to the 4333B and INHO better looking.
I also had another pair plus a single of large JBL studio monitors at the same time as the others. These all went when I got my Array 1400's

Well it went for £1,195. Some what higher than 'my' £205, but a reasonable price nonetheless.

The principal is excellent, just way, way, over engineered, and will beat any clamp or weight sold, and that is from someone that marketed Michell's clamp to the UK when new. No good on suspended belt drives though for obvious reasons. There are easier ways to do this though.Quote:

When did you hear Jura's Marco, which ones and what with? They've certainly got far less midrange colouration than many Tannoys out there, they sparkle like the DC tweeters can and do (in 6, 8, 10 and 12" models anyway) and the bass on the mk2 Jura rolls out in a fairly similar way. Your Lockwoods are NOT standard in any shape or form now and a rather different kettle of fish to what everyone else would hear from a commercial pair of 1970's Tannoys on the open market..
I didn't say I didn't like them, quite the opposite, and sold a good many. FAR more fun than spiteful old Ela's any day :)

However, as to them sounding anything like vintage Tannoys, for me, NO WAY. Forgetting about my Lockwoods, which you wouldn't even mention in the same breath as Juras (:eek:), all the other vintage Tannoys I've heard (12 and 15" HPDs, Monitor Reds and Golds) present music in a totally different way because of their DC design, to thin floorstanding speakers with dome tweeters and teeny-weeny bass drivers, in comparison to what is considered the norm with vintage Tannoys.

prices rise gradually for sure Andre, but on ebay it seems to ebb and flow a little - high and then low, there's a lot variables involved.
Bassy Juras are mk1 models. The Mk2's are more like the Naos, but smaller.. You're just going to have to come down to our level and accept the good things a smaller carefully designed driver can do. The midband on Jura's was really good and got better and better as the system did, as do the current models Rega make. I bet they'd compare fairly well with IIILZ''s, which are a bit ragged I remember (I'll get a listen to Dave W's pair as well as his too-middy LGM's next time I'm there), and also Eatons and Devons. I would *suggest* that the Jura 2's would communicate the message in a similar vein and the treble sparkle is no worse than a typical small DC tweeter in full song and far better than the ear-bleeding D100's the rep sold us unheard - and then scarpered, never to return.....Quote:
