Bargain - I’ll have 2 please!
I've popped stuff out the back of my arse that looks more appetising!
Marco.
Lol - no doubt someone will love it. It's the epitome of STODGE though, and I *hate* stodge!
Marco.
Trying my hand at a spot of coopering, refurbishing an ornamental barrel. Managed to get the end strap back over the staves.

got a new phillips hair clipper set today. just tried it and its great.. beats my old whal set to a cocked hat, although they have done well and are about 30+ yrs old. Betting these wont last as long but they cut better and is much easier to use.. Mains or battery too.

Different subject now, and just a wee head's up... If anyone's looking for a really nice recliner chair for the garden, Aldi are selling these for a totally stupid price of £24.99!

They're really well-made, sturdy and stylish, and the sort of thing 'posh' garden centres would sell for more than twice the price...
We've just bought two from our local store, so ignore the 'Out of Stock' message. However, regardless I doubt any Scottish stores will have them, because they stock fook all that's interesting or different - EVER!:ner:;)
Anyway, if you need some quality garden recliners, hurry hurry, Mrs Murray, to your local Aldi... While stocks last!!
Marco.
Yesh, you can't beat good old descriptive language!:eyebrows:

Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase 'squeezing a Malteser'.
Much as I loath the American import of new celebrations such as Father's Day (just another excuse and opportunity for commercial exploitation), and never entered in to it with my own father - I have been honoured with a Father's Day card and gifts, even though I don't have any children.
Rather it is a 'Grandfather's Day' acknowledgement from my partner's granddaughter, who is here as a university student. Totally unexpected, and I have to say I was rather touched.
very thoughtful of her, what did you get?
Nice one, mate.
I have to say though that whilst I agree with where you're coming from about the rather vulgar commercial side of such celebrations, I always get my dad a card and either take him out for a meal or we invite him round here for a meal on Father's Day (and I always did the same with my mum on Mother's Day).
Why? Well, it's just a nice thing to do, which above all HE appreciates, and it's always nice spending time together, making some nice memories to look back on, as you only get one dad (or mum)!:)
Marco.
No, I already have a 'Grumpy old git' mug my partner bought me, and which I love (and deserve!). My "granddaughter" did indeed buy me a mug, with "Fantastic Grandad" emblazoned on it, as well as a "Greatest Dad" key-ring and a Toblerone bar also marked "Best Dad Ever".
Not sure where she bought all the items, but it must have been from a specialist shop as the whole were presented to me in a carrier bearing the words: "Grandad - Simply the Best".
My last Father's Day mug has a picture of Vladimir Putin riding a grizzly bear. Don't know what that has to do with anything. But it's a handy size and I use it every day :)
A brother of mine is the double of Vladimir Putin. It had never occurred to me until his wife pointed it out. Now whenever I see Putin on TV I have to double-take to check it's not our Tony.
I mean you could infiltrate him into the Kremlin and cause all sorts of confusion, a bit like in 'The Goose Steps Out' with Will Hay.
I sent my dad a card, but haven't spoken to him for years so couldn't care less if it arrives or not, or if he likes it or not. I'm glad he's only got a few years left, then I'll start saving a few quid on cards a year.
I dislike him thoroughly, in case that wasn't obvious. :D
Just took a call from one of my daughters five minutes ago - they're taking me for a meal on Monday, to beat the Sunday piss-take. I predict there will be yet another novelty coffee mug too.
They're advertised in 'Private Eye', where you can buy such gems as Xmas cards which look perfectly conventional on the outside, but when you open them the greeting is: "Happy Xmas you cunt".
Greetings cards are expensive enough as it is, so I wouldn't want to waste my money on someone I didn't like.
Close to tears; just checked my inbox and my daughters have clubbed together to get me a "gift voucher" for my favourite restaurant.
What thoughtful girls :)
Nice one, mate, enjoy:)
Out of curiosity, what's your fav restaurant - that place you were talking to hi-fi Dave about, was it in Bury St-Edmonds?
Marco.
Yes, that's the one:

Looks like we won't be able to book until August, so I think that I will make a bit of a short break of it and book a room here for after the meal (excellent pub/brews, with a great buzz from groups drinking and chatting - how pubs should be):

My lovely children got me a massive gaming coffee mug, a chocolate in the shape of a PlayStation controller, a beer mug card and a card with a dad and son bear going fishing.
:D
We played at the local park for hours. :)

Poo. I wondered why the dog had wandered off, then the whopping fart it had done drifted in my direction..............
face of neptune.
https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cp...1_img_1445.jpg
Neptune seems to have made an appearance on the East Sussex coast during a storm.
The sighting of the "face" of the Roman god of water was captured by BBC photographer Jeff Overs in Newhaven on Tuesday.
He took the picture as waves crashed over the harbour wall during the storm.
The sighting seems to be an example of pareidolia - when an image is seen in an otherwise random or ambiguous visual pattern.
Mr Overs said he took the photo at about 09:00 BST at high tide in winds of more than 50mph (80km/h).
"It's become a popular location for photographers because the sea 'boils' in high wind against the sea wall.
"The waves splash into the high wind and when blown back occasionally make patterns that look like (pareidolic) ghoulish faces."
He said the small wave in the foreground resembles a hand.
"It's a straight shot and I haven't manipulated the image at all," Mr Overs said.
Love it! :)
trouble is, it looks so good that it looks like it had to be manipulated (if you get my meaning)
