Thumbs up Gardenline Black Garden Recliner - BARGAIN!!

Different subject now, and just a wee head's up... If anyone's looking for a really nice recliner chair for the garden, Aldi are selling these for a totally stupid price of £24.99!

    https://www.aldi.co.uk/gardenline-bl...01098325936000

They're really well-made, sturdy and stylish, and the sort of thing 'posh' garden centres would sell for more than twice the price...

We've just bought two from our local store, so ignore the 'Out of Stock' message. However, regardless I doubt any Scottish stores will have them, because they stock fook all that's interesting or different - EVER!

Anyway, if you need some quality garden recliners, hurry hurry, Mrs Murray, to your local Aldi... While stocks last!!

    Default Father's Day

Much as I loath the American import of new celebrations such as Father's Day (just another excuse and opportunity for commercial exploitation), and never entered in to it with my own father - I have been honoured with a Father's Day card and gifts, even though I don't have any children.

Rather it is a 'Grandfather's Day' acknowledgement from my partner's granddaughter, who is here as a university student. Totally unexpected, and I have to say I was rather touched.

    Nice one, mate.

I have to say though that whilst I agree with where you're coming from about the rather vulgar commercial side of such celebrations, I always get my dad a card and either take him out for a meal or we invite him round here for a meal on Father's Day (and I always did the same with my mum on Mother's Day).

Why? Well, it's just a nice thing to do, which above all HE appreciates, and it's always nice spending time together, making some nice memories to look back on, as you only get one dad (or mum)!

No, I already have a 'Grumpy old git' mug my partner bought me, and which I love (and deserve!). My "granddaughter" did indeed buy me a mug, with "Fantastic Grandad" emblazoned on it, as well as a "Greatest Dad" key-ring and a Toblerone bar also marked "Best Dad Ever".

Not sure where she bought all the items, but it must have been from a specialist shop as the whole were presented to me in a carrier bearing the words: "Grandad - Simply the Best".

My last Father's Day mug has a picture of Vladimir Putin riding a grizzly bear. Don't know what that has to do with anything. But it's a handy size and I use it every day
