Time is relative, it is not common. As Einstein would say "I measure time by my watch, you measure time with your watch".
However to address your point regarding synchronicity of the time displayed on your phone, laptop etc., I have noticed that if I'm using my phone or PC whilst listening to the radio, the time changes precisely with the BBC 'pips' or the 'bongs' of Big Ben.
I would like to trust the BBC 'pips', but just to complicate things further BBC radio arrives at my home at slightly different times on Sky TV my mobile phone and DAB radio. And DAB I've found to be a good ten to fifteen seconds behind FM. Looking at Speaking clock.com I see that the time on my mobile is roughly two seconds fast.Quote:

Over the coming days I will investigate further the differences between my Sky box, Alexa, FM radio (in the van) and my DAB job site radio. But when Anita is elsewhere as she would readily find me something else to occupy my time.

seems to be a 2 second difference between the TV and my laptop.
My watch is about 3 minutes fast but I've forgotten how to change it. I haven't put the hour back for GMT either come to think of it.

I could do with one of those, I struggle with what day of the week it is. And I'm not even retired yet.
I'd like one that was just that 'days' bit. No date, no big hand little hand, no seconds sweep. It'd save me the job of having to say "Alexa, what day is it?" And having to repeatedly ask throughout the day.
Pensioners in the olden days had it so easy - they knew when it was Saturday because Batman was on, and Sunday they had Songs of Praise (otherwise known as "we're only here to get our fizzog on telly").
Monday Wednesday Friday was Corrie, Thursday World in Action. Not sure what Tuesday was, queuing at the Post Office probably.

I rely on apps to tell me when to take my meds and what I should be doing on any given day (relies on me updating the apps of course). Most important is when I’m off on my travels and my better half lets me know when to dust off the passport and pack me smalls.

I like that one Roy. It's a little unusual in having the digits at 10 minute separations on the dial (apart from "6"). I also like the separate seconds dial).

Yep, had one of those, purchased in 1970 for £84. Had it serviced a couple of years ago for over £2K and gave it to my Son for his 40th. Trouble is, it's expensive to insure and he's limited to where he can wear it, for safety sake.Quote:
