Current one hasn't finished ....
There's FA Cup to be settled yet, and Champions League too.
Soz, meant to answer this before:
i see your striker has come back unfit Marco, and isnt going to France.. daft laddie that as he has talent but pisses it away.. Gers seem to be at same tourney for some reason it seems; dunno if they will play each other tho..
No, they won't play each other, but it'll still be interesting.... Looking forward to the Nice game later tonight, but don't have a scooby what the Celtic team will be!
As for Griffo, he's always been a problem child, such is often the case with talented players. What I suspect has happened is that, as he's obviously still got mental health issues, the lockdown and lack of playing football has got to him, as the more you're alone with your 'demons', with nothing to take your mind off of things, the more it'll affect you.
And as you know, it's a common thing to pile on the pounds when you're depressed, as you use food to 'hide behind', as it were, and to try and cheer yourself up. Basically, with him, it's been a classic case of 'idle hands are the devil's tools' - too much spare time to sit and think about his problems. He needs to be playing football to take his mind off of them!
It's a disappointment and setback for sure, but only temporary, as I'm sure he'll return to confound his critics. He'll need to be on his toes though, as I hear that Klimala (the Polish striker we signed last season) has really come onto a game during training and looks a totally different player!
Marco.
Oh, and I also hear that Joe Hart's pretty much a done deal, and unlike some, that excites me... He just needs a new challenge/confidence boost and the chance to prove himself, as you don't lose the abilities you were born with overnight. The fact is, not that long ago he won the Premiership title with City and was England's No1. A 'dud' he is not.
In that respect, I think he'll do a great job for Celtic, the same as other Man City 'flops', such as Sinclair and Roberts!;)
Marco.
not been looking much tbh.. lots of rumours but as of yet no substance so far..... i believe the window up here is now open, although i thought it was to be end of month..
Oh there's plenty of substance in the Joe Hart thing, :trust:

Both teams in France for friendlies today
Oh there's plenty of substance in the Joe Hart thing, :trust:
Marco.
was referring to rangers as i had a chat with a few folk.. what celtic do is their affair, as is rangers tbh, but im still interested in the youth side of it as rangers are setting up a very good system; trouble is pressure stops mostly any of them getting into fisrt team.
still we live in hope one day. they signed the lad from ireland, lindsay, and the boy graham from ross county... 2 of the best prospects today, alas kennedy seems to want too much cash and has had his head turned by his agent... if he cant get into our side, he wont get into man city's.. still if he is chasing cash...
Both teams in France for friendlies today
Who are Rangers playing mate, and is it on Premier Sports?:)
Watching a superb game at the mo, on that channel from Serie A: Sassuolo vs Juventus, currently 3-3! Some great goals...

Celtic are playing Nice in the next few minutes and we are playing Olympique Lyonnais later both are on Premier sports
I think the Sassuolo shirt would be a great away one for Celtic to be inspired by, perhaps with a touch of green also on the sleeves:
https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/xq90/923/fzGuwm.jpg
That's a cool shirt. Might see if I can get one to wear over the summer:)

Yeah, defo. Cool shirt though, innit?
Marco.
for a celtic guy, yeah :ner: cant see many gers fans sporting one down the copeland rd tho:D
Lol - how do you know there aren't any Sassuolo fans among the Rangers support?:D

well, none that will admit it, or be foolish enough to wear the strip out.;) bar when i was a kid, ive never had a strip

Not worth the potential grief.

Football shirts should only be worn by those playing a game of football and those under 16
Nah, only if you're a short ass with a big beer belly and look like an old man... That doesn't apply to me!;)
With a pair of 501s and my black Vans [these boys: https://www.schuh.co.uk/mens/vans-old-skool-black-trainers/3400517070/ it'll look cool.

Used to wear a similar shoe when younger. Was something to do with baseball or American football. Got them imported and were really good, comfortable things. But it's a long time ago now. Can't remember the actual make.
Sounds like Converse All Stars, mate. Didn't think you were cool enough for those!:D;)
Marco.
Remember they were bloody expensive in the day. Twice the price of a set of docs
Fancy a wee job when you've got time, mate? :)
Could you close this thread and move all recent posts about this season into the new thread you started for this season? Ta!
Marco.
Sort it next time I'm on pc
1-1 in our game against Nice, with Klimala, who looked sharp and very physically fit, coming off the bench to equalise. We should've gone 1-0 up in the first half, with Edouard, but it was [wrongly, IMO] ruled as offside by VAR.
VAR during a bloody friendly, eh!
Anyway, I was quite impressed with some of our play, and Edouard looked very good indeed. Just about to watch the Rangers game now:)
Marco.
Bet rangers get pumped. [emoji23]
Well, they're 1-0 up so far! Kent.

Oh dear, Kent red-carded for slapping an opponent in the face!
Bit harsh though, as it was more a tap than anything else, but you just CANNOT raise your hands towards an opposing player like that these days and expect to get away with it. So they'll have to play the remainder of the game now with 10 men.
Marco.

Not great by Kent, Gerrard will not be happy
I know... It was a soft one, but FFS, raising your hand like that to the guy's face, what did he expect the ref to do?
Marco.
Great 2-0 win for Gers, playing nearly 60 mins with 10 men! Overall they were the better team, and I was particularly impressed with the new goalkeeper and Shirley Bassey!:D
No, seriously, Bassey was great and looks like he could make a significant contribution to the Rangers cause this season. I was rather disappointed in Lyon, and had expected much more from them. They came alive a bit more in the second half, and Triore had a few chances, but never really threatened the Rangers defence. Moussa Dembele should've played from the start!
For me, Nice were a better team, so it'll be interesting to see how Rangers fare against them. However, aside from Kent's sending off, I'd imagine Gerrard will be a happy man:)
Marco.
Patryk Klimala, Celtic's goalscorer tonight, looking lean and mean for Celtic...
https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/xq90/924/cZ0qCB.jpg
The boy's put on a LOT of bulk (muscle) since he joined the club, and obviously spent a lot of time in the gym during lockdown!
I predict he'll be a sensation this season, which could mean bad news for Griffiths, if he doesn't get his finger out ... Klimala and Edouard has the potential to be an awesome partnership.

Welcome back to the Premier League Leeds United
I was going to post this in last season's thread, but it has been locked for some reason.
Last This season still hasn't finished.
Lol - it's finished as far as I'm concerned!:ner:
Liverpool and Celtic are champs, and the wee diddy teams finished somewhere behind us....:eyebrows:;)
As for Leeds Utd, yeah I totally agree... For them, the title of 'sleeping giant' couldn't be more apt! TBH, I'd love to see the likes of Newcastle Utd and West Ham also realise their 'sleeping giant' status, as they've been cocooned in mediocrity for WAY too long!
Both of them, along with Leeds Utd (when they get settled), challenging at the top of the EPL, and Arsenal (and Man Utd) restored to genuine title contenders again, would make the league even more exciting than it is. But yes, Man Utd vs. Leeds Utd should be a potentially thrilling derby!
Anyway, for us Old Firm fans here, more footy to watch tonight from France:cool:
Marco.
Gers 1-0 up against Nice, and playing well!:)
Aribo, Edmundson and Defoe [the goalscorer] particularly impressive.
Marco.
Good for them. Could win the trophy if it stays that way
I wouldn't be against that for the kudos it would give to Scottish football, friendly tournament or not!:)
Too many blinkered, uninitiated fools think that the SPL is a 'diddy league', and Scottish football is wrongly laughed at in some quarters - that is until some of them (footballers) with 'big reputations' elsewhere come and try and play there...;)
Marco.

2-0 and half decent performance and a wee trophy
Yup, nice one. Well done. We'll see how Celtic do now against Lyon. I'm expecting a higher overall tempo and some goals...
I do like the shape of the Rangers team(s) I've seen so far in this pre-season. In that respect, Gerrard's doing a good job.
They look tighter and more solid defensively throughout the pitch than they did last season, with some of their new acquisitions appearing to be a good bit of business, all of which augurs well for them for the season ahead.
Marco.
P.S What's missing with these televised friendlies though, is some post-match reaction from the manager/players and pundits!
rmcin626
18-07-2020, 19:44
Good couple of games for Rangers , not looking good for Celtic so far.
Lol yeah, 2-0 down at half time... That's what happens when you field an inexperienced/weakened side, including kids, with no proper central defenders against Lyon's strongest 11 [just because the same one finished well against Nice]!
Lenny should've started with his strongest team, then dropped in a few 'newbies', to freshen things up later, as he did against Nice. I can only assume that he just wants to give some of these guys some experience, especially the kids.
I expect major changes in the second half (around the hour mark), with more experienced players getting game time, and hopefully an improvement in performance!
Marco.

It’s only a pre season tournament, the managers obviously have different viewpoints on how to proceed
2-1 in the end... As predicted, MUCH better in the second half, when the 'real' Celtic team came on after 61 mins!
Lyon still played well, but were kept much better in check/more subdued by Celtic, who in the end scored a superb goal from Elyounoussi, and whom I think is going to be major player for us this season, as the boy is quality:)
So... Onwards and upwards, as the players get more match fit, and onto Tuesday when we'll be playing the mighty PSG. Somehow I don't think Lenny will start with a 'toy team' against them!
Anyway, good luck to Rangers against Coventry. I always enjoy 'Scotland vs. England' clashes like that, so I hope you fly the flag for Scotland and duly pump the Englanders!:eyebrows:;)
Marco.

Yes of course. See my last post, though:)
Marco.
PSG match due to start soon... Let's see if we can lose less than 5-0 this time!:D
Marco.
i think you will see different players catching the eye. players that maybe struggle with 50k howling fans, but can look world class in training etc.. it'll be interesting to see if any that seem to improve in the closed enviornment can keep it up when all the fans etc are there.
i think the rangers lad; the winger from man city is a prime example.. barker

Yeah mate, you're bang on, and no doubt that will be a big factor, especially at the start of the season.
Marco.

Lol - well, I guess it'd be good to be ruthlessly exposed for how shite you are in some areas before the serious stuff starts, so something can be done to address it!:D
Anyway, should be interesting, and yes, possibly also painful!
Marco.
yup in england weve seen different players and teams do better with the closed sign up.. its a conundrum for managers i guess.. some players feed off the fans and some collapse.
not that ive watched any but reading english reports it seems that way anyways..

i wont be surprised if you win
:lolsign:
Aye, you've got a good sense of humour!
Still, after that quick goal, it's been mostly all Celtic... However., I'm not expecting that to last:D
It's defo a good workout though for the players, which is probably why Lennon arranged this game.
Marco.
oh dear, unlucky deflection..
Indeed... Then Jullien hits the bar at the other end with a header!
So, 2-0 down at half time, *but* some of our play in spells has been quite impressive, especially in between both PSG goals. Defo some positives to come out of that first half, but we'll see what happens in the second.
We've got to try and keep it tight and not lose possession easily, and make them work for the ball, to stand any kind of chance. The next goal is important, because if PSG get it, then I can see another 5 or 6-niller, but if Celtic can nick one then they might make some sort of game of it.
We shall see - certainly we'll not be facing a better team anytime soon, even for the CL qualifiers, so all good practice!
Marco.
Not watching obviously but reading the text a bit it looks like you came back well enough from the goal.
Neymar has talent both as a baller and an actor, but mbape is the real risk
That's that then.. Very early again.
4-0 in the end, so I got my wish: 1 less than 5-0!:D
It was actually a very good workout against a full-strength, top notch PSG side, which I'll sure will have done the players the world of good in terms of preparation for the season ahead!
Marco.

3-0 and decent first half performance
Lovely teamwork goal for the third one, with some great one-twos between Hagi and Aribo, with the latter scoring. Aribo has impressed me in the friendly matches I've seen so far, and is someone I expect will be a key player for Rangers this season.

Not a great first half, need to improve
Great teamwork goal from Aribo, who continues to impress! Morelos has just missed a sitter, as did Kent, and Hagi's just had a great shot saved, so Rangers could've easily been 4-0 up in the second half.
2-0 now, Goldson! Coventry simply aren't at Rangers' level.
Marco.
2-0 in the end, and a much better second half! As I said, it could've easily been 4-0, so Rangers were worthy winners:)
We're playing Ross County tomorrow, then Hibs on Monday.

Granty, do you think your magnificent pappies would show it off even better?:D
Marco.
Saw that, yes nicely painted.. Bet it was a woman tho
Was hearing morelos is likely away to france, so unless gers have someone up sleeve we have no no 9
Yeah looks like it, mate: https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/5854505/rangers-alfredo-morelos-lille-transfer-close/
He's been poor in the pre-season matches I've seen, and really his head's not been in the right place since before last season's winter break.
Still, if you get £20m, it should buy you a good replacement. Hey, maybe Griffo fancies a switch across the city?:D
Marco.
funnily enough i said the same thing re his head a few days ago and said he'd be better away tbh. as long as gers get a decent price and a %
whether they have anyone in the wings, who knows
Word has it that Lille have now cooled their interest on Morelos, and he's focussed instead on playing for Rangers... Can't say I noticed that in the friendly games I've been watching him play in, where instead he's looked distinctly UN-focussed and disinterested... Time will tell, I guess!
We've also played a couple of friendlies recently, beating Ross County 2-0, and today Hibs, 3-1, with Klimala scoring two of the goals. He's really starting to look like a player now, the more game time he gets, plus settles into Scottish football. I predict him to be a big success this season and ideal foil up front for either Edouard or Griffiths, the latter who came on today for the second half and looked really fit and sharp, so I think he's made up with Lennon and back in the fold:)
In that respect, I don't really think we need any more strikers, especially with Bayo also on the sidelines, currently recovering from an injury. What we need is two goalkeepers, in order to replace the two who've left (Gordon and Forster), and at least one centre-half, although two would be my preference, as back up for Julien and Ajer, especially to provide them with some competition, as they're a bit too 'safe' in their positions at the moment.
On the goalkeeper front, it looks like Barkas (from AEK Athens) is going to be one (in a £5.5m deal), rather than Hart: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/vasilios-barkas-celtic-latest-greek-22424949
He's certainly got excellent pedigree and was impressive against us last season in the CL qualifiers, when AEK put us out. Much will depend on how he settles into Scottish football and handles the pressure of playing for a team whose fans demand that they win every game, and also particularly this season with the ten-in-a-row thing. He'll certainly be a good acquisition though, if we do manage to land him:cool:
Marco.

As always with possible transfers we will have to wait and see who actually puts pen to paper. It’s clear that Rangers need at least one striker, or two if Morelos goes. Much of what is in the papers is rubbish, but it does look like Celtic are making moves on a couple of players. Although the timing is not great with the league starting this weekend.
Of course (on all counts), although I think we're plenty strong enough for domestic games. It's more the CL qualifiers we need to ensure we're up to speed for. I'm pretty sure though that Barkas is on his way, and I'd expect a couple of others to come in by the end of this week.
Marco.

Just need to see now who else comes in!
Marco.
So.... Are yooz ready for your trip to Pittodrie tomorrow, chaps? Feeling confident?:)
I think you'll win easily! I've been watching Rangers very closely in pre-season games, and for me, they're a different team from the one that finished last season...
*Much* tighter defensively, and throughout the side, they have a better shape and have more goal threat throughout, aside perhaps from up front, but Morelos may well wake up again, when the serious stuff starts, as if he keeps playing pish his value will go down and he'll get a hee-haw move to nowhere!
That aside, I think you'll have too much for Aberdeen, especially in an empty stadium. Your thoughts, folks?
Marco.

Looking forward to the game tomorrow, in the main our performances have been better than the end of last season, which won't be hard. I think at the moment we are too strong for Aberdeen especially as they are struggling for strikers just now.

Balogun had a good game, looked comfortable even after banging his head off the post. Early days.
Good first half performance, second half was not great but a good 3 points.
TBH, a pretty dire and boring game to watch, if like me, you were a fan of neither team. Rangers played good football in patches, with Aribo and Hagi once again impressive. However, like you say, the three points is what matters most!:)
Marco.
yeah it often that way in both openers and when one side plays the low block
Superb game - 5-1 going on 8-1, TBH... A superb performance from team, and I'm especially pleased that Klimala bagged another goal, whom I've predicted this season to do great things! He's been tipped in some circles to be the next Lewandowski - different type of player though, but if he turns out to be half as good as him, I'll be well happy!
More later, but a good three points, 5 goals and (for now) top of the league:cool:

He has been spoken about for a year or two in connection with coming to Ibrox.
No worries, perhaps though through Rangers-orientated channels, as I wasn't aware. The same things happens with Celtic. Unless you're 'in the know', a lot of things can pass by unnoticed:)

he wont get 30 a year, i think, but he will score and assist i think.. much depends on if alf stays.. he might take the other forward berh from hagi, moving him further back.

Looks like some good signings there, guys. It would appear then that Morelos is on his way, unless Rangers are planning on keeping all those plus him!

Good luck against Leverkusen tonight, guys. I'll be rooting for you, for the benefit of Scottish football, and think you've got a chance of turning the tie on its head and getting through!
But you'll have to play at the top of their game and hope that the Germans miss their home fans and are a bit rusty after their recent layoff. If Rangers can score first, it'll defo be game on...

Well after 390 odd days tha European journey is over, tie lost in the first leg and too many players not at it tonight.
Yeah, it was a good run, but TBH if I was a Rangers supporter, going out was probably the best outcome, as you've got an already overcrowded fixture list, and so could've done without having to play more games in a competition that you were never going to win.
I'd have felt the same had it been Celtic. Far better to concentrate your efforts in more important areas this season, namely trying to win the league. But yes, too many players not at it, and if it hadn't been for McGreegor, it could've been more.
No idea why Morelos keeps getting a game just now, as he's less than half the player he was, so for me it's time to blood the new boys and drop sulky-chops!

I think too many were thinking St. Mirren on Sunday or Inter on Monday, anyway a decent run, time to move on a few players
For me, St Mirren on Sunday is far more important for Rangers, in terms of this season. What's your view on Morelos? For me, he looks disinterested and a shadow of the player he was in the first part of last season, or in earlier rounds of the Europa League.
As good a player as he is (was), no team trying to win honours can afford to carry passengers, and at the moment that's unfortunately what he is.
Marco.
I fancy watching Man City vs Real Madrid tomorrow night, in the CL, with City being 2-1 up. I'll be rooting for City, as I'd like to see them win CL. Considering the vast sums of money they're spent, that's been a glaring omission from their trophy cabinet for too long!
So good luck to Pep and the lads tomorrow night:cool:

Morelos again seemed uninterested, although to fair he didn’t receive much in the way of service, as you say Sunday is of more importance.
Yeah he appears to have left the building, but forgot to take his body.
On a brighter note, 2 places in champs league will now be Scotland s bonus for the 2021/2 season

Not really worked out for him at West Ham, might turn out to be good time will tell.
Yup, we've got a track record though of making players a success who were largely 'failures' down south, so hopefully he'll be another one. I know enough about him though to be confident that, once he settles in, he'll do a good job.
However.... I don't think the deal's quite over the line yet, so I'll comment more if/once it is, probably sometime next week.

No mucking about by the First Minister, to say she was not amused would be an understatement.
Yup, that's why I think she'd make a great PM! She takes no bullshit and sticks to her guns, which is exactly what you need in a PROPER leader. No wishy-washy I want to be everyone's friend bullshite. I've always admired assertive, determined women.
I didn't agree with the vast majority of what Maggie Thatcher did, and indeed was mostly vehemently agains it, but I admired and respected her steely self-determination and refusal to capitulate if she thought she was right.
BUT.... That's not the point I was making - it was about the brainless, arrogant, selfish idiocy of the Aberdeen players, who behaved so irresponsibly and have now not only put their team but their club and the whole of Scottish football at risk, if the infection spreads!

It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last time that footballers think that the rules don’t apply to them.
The Scottish government have not got everything right during Covid but they have certainly done a lot better than the UK government.
It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last time that footballers think that the rules don’t apply to them.
Well they DO, and they need it hammered into their thick skulls, in no uncertain terms.

Have Celtic bought any players yet Marco. Not been keeping an eye on things alas.
Thing is Granty, if the stupid wankers do it again, or some other stupid wankers from some other team do, it could fuck up things for ALL of us!! As trust me, NS would have no qualms simply ending Scottish football this season if the virus starts getting out of control...
And after waiting *SO* long and being DESPERATE for footy to start again, I don't want my fun and enjoyment ruined by some selfish, arrogant, overpaid primadonna coonts, who aren't able to follow some simple instructions!!
And I'm sure that many other fans feel the same - indeed I *know* they do, as the football phone-ins were red hot with it last night!
Marco.
i was serious re the exploders;).. most players are daft and dont give a monkeys tbh. it will almost certainly happen again
Lol - I know what I'd do with them, if I was Aberdeen owner or manager. The best thing is drop them from the team and hit them heavily in the pocket, with a warning that if it happens again, they're OUT.

Anyway, looks like we've finally landed Ajeti: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11787/12046663/albian-ajeti-west-ham-forward-completes-medical-at-celtic
He's defo quality, but I won't be happy until we sign at least another centre-half, and a left-back to replace Boli, as I can't see him kicking another ball for Celtic!
Marco.
they can finish season now;)
:D:D
If they did, your title would have an asterisk against it, though!:lol:
Marco.
Anyway, after landing Ajeti, that's us spent over £10m so far on two players, and it seems like another, more physical style, of centre-half is imminent, which we're badly in need of, aside from anything else to put pressure on Julien and Ajer.
They're too much of a 'safe pick', which for me has affected their form, so some proper competition will give them the kick up the arse they need!:)

It was gripping stuff, with Neymar being a total waste of space approaching goal.
When Atalanta scored there was a scent of upset in the air.
In the dying minutes PSG managed to equalise, and ultimately win in added time.

Missed it, mate... Too busy trying to stay cool in this heat!
Pity PSG didn't get pumped, as I can't stand Neymar - grossly overpaid petulant child! So who are City facing next?:)

We play Lyon on Saturday.
Here's hoping
We played them recently in a mini-tournament 'friendly' (read as in reality it was as competitive as a 'real' one) and only lost 2-1, in a game we should've won, and Rangers pumped them (I think) 2-0, in the same tournament, so I think you'll be way too good for them over two legs.
As long as you can take care of Dembele, and do a better job against him than you did at Celtic Park, in that 3-3 draw a few years back, then you'll be fine, and I think City are a much better team now than they were then!

Marco.
didnt have a good time at w ham so some work needed. he did well in switzerland before tho
Yeah, very well... I've watched some of his clips at Basel, where he was outstanding - and playing alongside Elyounoussi What an electric [£21m] partnership to rekindle!
Scott Sinclair had a nightmare at Man City, as did Paddy Roberts, but it didn't stop the former becoming player of the year in his first season at Celtic, scoring 52 goals in a total of 127 games...Most strikers would be proud of that record!
Or the latter being one of the best wingers the SPL has ever seen. So if Ajeti turns out to be as big a 'dud' as those two, I'll be happy!:D

Simple fact is you can never really tell how a player will do.

Oh yeah, I fully agree. Just saying we have a recent track record of signing 'duds' from the EPL and turning them into stars! And I'm hopeful that Ajeti will also come under that category.
He's certainly combined well before with Elyounoussi in the same team, so I'm hopeful they'll rekindle this kind of partnership again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=54&v=hviyn-drVp8&feature=emb_logo

See celtic and Aberdeen have been charged along with players. Not sure it's clubs fault tbh. I expect a censure only, so they can throw book at any club in future. Players will likely get a ban.
Hearts being stopped training in Edinburgh was rediculous and especially so as Hull are training in same place. Hearts haven't done anything.

Didn't really get into football in a serious way until I was in my early teens, but of course I've heard of Tam Forsyth and remember watching him play for Rangers in the late 70s, which is pretty much when I got into footy and started supporting Celtic - it was Jimmy Johnstone's fault!:wow::D

Why on earth Sterling leaned back on that ball I'll never know - all he had to do was a flat foot pass it into the net
Yet again Guardiola stood and watched his team failing to do things for too long before switching things around, and by then the damage is done

munich have to be favs certainly, although they were mine anyway...leipzig could cause an upset tho in a one of game.. can be a dynamic team
MU fans talking smack about MC's performance.......not so funny now.
I saw they lost. Is that all British sides out now. Not been their best tourney
Nothing about the two points dropped away to Livi last night?:ner:;)
Joking aside, it can be a tough place to go, as we also know all too well to our cost!
Marco.
I've watching that kind of game all season, so last night's result didn't surprise me.
Why on earth Sterling leaned back on that ball I'll never know - all he had to do was a flat foot pass it into the net
Yet again Guardiola stood and watched his team failing to do things for too long before switching things around, and by then the damage is done
Looks like there's a good possibility of an all German final this year.
Yeah, you'll know more about what's been going on than I do. Sterling's miss was a shocker, and surprising, as he'd had a great game up until that point. In all honesty though, I'm not sure it would've made a lot of difference, as Lyon would've likely scored again.
For me, City are still not strong enough defensively to win the CL - nowhere near so... They can be a joy to watch going forward, but the best teams are always liable to punish them at the back - and in that respect, at the moment, I can draw parallels with Celtic!
Marco.
Great win [the most important thing], and through to the next round, with goals being spread throughout the team, although against an admittedly poor side. However, as they say, you can only beat what's put in front of you - and Celtic did that with devastating aplomb!
Such was their dominance, it could've easily been 10-0, had their keeper not made some good saves. Elyounoussi was simply sensational, and lived up every bit to his £16m price tag, and will be a key player for Celtic this season. I predict possibly player of the year, but we'll see....
Anyway, after the rather 'unfortunate' enforced absence of games, we're BACK with a BANG and ready to get stuck into Dundee Utd on Saturday!:more:

Great win Marco, well done, I wish we could do the same that’s the way to play against weaker teams.
Cheers, Robin. I'm sure it'll come when your new players start to gel and get used to Scottish football. It took Aribo a while to find his feet, but once he did, he's really came onto his game now and I think will be a key player for you this season.
One big difference I can see in Rangers this season, which I commented on during their friendly games, was how much tighter defensively, and all over the pitch, they are now, so they'll be less inclined to lose silly goals - and over the course of a season that's going to add up to quite a few more points!
So if they can just add a bit more firepower, and like you say, punish teams more, then they'll certainly be a force to be reckoned with:cool:
Marco.
If you want to see the goals, which were excellent. Worth it for Edouard's goal alone - one which Jinky Johnstone would've been proud of, and Greg Taylor scoring a HEADER:eek::

Granty, you're not talking much about football - have you gone in a huff with it again?:D
Can never keep track of whether you follow things now or not, but a wee 'congrats' for last night, like Robin did, would've been appreciated!:ner:;)

footy news on blue side... McCrorie went to Aberdeen on loan and then to full contract as Aberdeen had no money.. lad wants to play..
Docherty away to Hull on 3 year deal for £400k.. SG doesnt like his style or him i think.
Both blue noses, and with Halliday gone too there are precious few left at club sadly. We may just have gone past these guys ability but with few if any lads getting a chance from the reseves it does make you wonder if there is a point to it,
Itten match fit, but no use so far.. Roofe not fit and hasnt played for some time, so will take time there. sure both will eventually become good buys. Needless to say the press and fans have the boot into Hagi for a couple of poor performances alas.. typical scotland
Lol... They're'll be more peat in your veins soon than blood!
Btw, check out the whisky selection in this hotel's bar: https://www.thetorridon.com/eat-drink/whisky-bar/
I've booked a stay for our anniversary this year - should be nice and snowy on the 22nd of December! And so will look forward to an evening spent, in front of their cosy log fire, sampling of few of those beauties...:eyebrows:
Marco.

OMG, I'll have to ask for that room now, as I can just see her sitting on that bed [in the pink cat nightie I bought her], saying... 'WANT Prosecco!':lol:

Back to football matters now, and it seems likely that Shane Duffy is Parkhead bound:

:lol::eyebrows:
If we get him, which seems likely, I think he'll be a great signing, and sort out the 'pansies' in our defence!
Marco.
hasnt had a lot of game time with brighton, so may need sharpening up
Yeah, that is if we get him...
Marco.
P.S Btw, I just secured that room... Do you think she'll like it?:eyebrows:
