Going to enjoy tonight, Aberdeen had good chances today especially in the second half, but its all about the finishing. Next season could be a good one, still awaiting confirmation of the new Celtic boss.

Yes, we had afternoon tea in their outdoor gazebo - and very good it was, and still ample time for her to 'warm up' my Amex! She really only needs me there to carry the bags!:D
Just poured the princess a glass of Prosecco, and she's in now for a relaxing bath and pamper, while I settle down to watch the FA Cup Final:)

Well done too, to Leicester City for winning the FA Cup (as I thought they would)! :yay: :clapclapclap:
A fitting tribute to the owner, who sadly died in that infamous helicopter accident, and great to see his son celebrating the win so passionately with Brendan Rodgers, who's now ably showing down south that he's truly a TOP class manager:cool:
Marco.
Yes well done to them. It also makes the champs league places different I think.
Indeed... Btw, in terms of this:

...or after looking in the biscuit tin, he's been told he's only got £2.97 to spend on players, rather than a full three quid!!:D
But seriously, the dithering and dallying, and epic levels of farter-abouting we go through attempting to land players (and now managers), is just a complete embarrassment:doh:
You wonder WTF it could've been about Howe's backroom staff that was *so* serious or influential, in order to scupper his appointment at this LATE stage... Why couldn't whatever it was have been sorted MONTHS ago, or not, and we could've looked elsewhere, rather than wasting all this bloody time for fuck all??:mental:
So, as we've crazily put all our eggs in the one basket, thanks to the dithering dimwits in charge, and all decent back-ups have gone to other clubs, we'll likely be left with some unknown and untried diddy, as a manager.. Awesome!!
Marco.

Lawwell will have his reasons no doubt and they will be, as you say re money. He is a tight wad. Betting he tried to change their contracts etc. Actually i did hear that Howe saw the list of players offered to him and said.."you cant be serious" he wanted a £50m budget.

Which isn't a bad place to be ....

I know a lot of Celtic fans, initially including me, after the Howe fiasco, when they first heard that this guy was in the frame for the manager's job went 'Who the fuck is this guy?'. I've been doing a bit of research since, and my feelings now are rather different!
Granty or Robin, if you have access to iTunes and have the time or inclination to have a listen to this interview (to suss out your potential rival for next season), he comes across extremely well, especially his footballing philosophy and the attacking style of play he loves and *insists* on his teams playing:
https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/ange-postecoglou-success-principles-and-bravery/id1482065104?i=1000468285812
Having done some research now on the guy and listened to that interview, I'm actually rather excited about his (imminent) arrival, and think the Celtic board may possibly have unearthed a real gem!:)
Especially with his contacts in Japanese football - could he unearth another Nakamura (or two)?
In my view, he was one of the most talented players ever to wear a Celtic jersey, plus being Australian, could he get Tom Rogic to stay and get him playing his best football again, as on his game he's a superb footballer. More interestingly, with his Greek heritage, could he get a tune out of our £5k flop goalie, Barkas..?
IMO, all potentially exciting things to ponder... Furthermore, strong rumour has it that Sean Maloney is coming in as his No2, after the Euros, which will be vital to teach him what Scottish, and indeed British, football is all about, and so could have the makings of a potential 'dream team'... Maloney would also have good contacts in Belgium, possibly for sourcing some players.
Anyway, come on in Ange and help kick start our new era!!

I am starting to think he is a shield for now and they intend hiring someone else; possibly clarke after euros.. Mallony was talked about as the dof role...
Im not keen on managers with a philosophy... we had Caxhina with his pholisophy; look how that turned out and he had european experience..
But good luck with him if he gets it and as you say he may be good.. Pep says he is a world top 10 manager(not sure where he got that from) but its all city group connections via lawwell's son it seems.
Pre season is less than 2 weeks and if its Ange then he will need a permit i guess and also quarintine for 10 days,

Will have a listen later on, when time allows. A few people have been speaking very favorably, so we will have to wait and see if he arrives and if he is suitably qualified to coach in Europe.
also heard Mon was a sneaky left field appointment in hiding:)
Mon?
Do you mean Martin O'Neill? Yes I heard that, but at 69 years old, I don't think he'd want to climb back into the goldfish bowl of the old firm. These days, I think he likes a quiet life. Could be wrong though, and I certainly would welcome that appointment with open arms!

Not an ideal start
Rui Faria has emerged as a potential alternative to Ange Postecoglou for the Celtic hot-seat. The Portuguese is a disciple of Jose Mourinho having spent almost two decades as his trusted number two, including assisting Porto to their UEFA Cup win over Celtic. Faria decided to go it alone following Mourinho’s departure from Manchester United and spent a season in charge of Qatari outfit Al-Duhail where he won the title before leaving for personal reasons.
The 45-year-old is a free agent and is keen on the vacant Celtic job but Postecoglou remains the clear frontrunner.

Celtic's move to appoint Ange Postecoglou is in limbo as a Uefa spokesperson says it "could take several weeks" to process the club's appeal for an exemption which would allow the Australian to take charge despite not having the required pro licence coaching badge.

its a strange one. surely there are easier and better appointments. or is it penny pinching? I mean i would think there would be a long queue of qualified coaches interested.

Haven't seen that., Robin. Got a link? Anyway, we'll see what happens:) Did you listen to the iTunes interview with AP?
Anyway, focusing on the Euros, I'm surprised our rather credible draw last night hasn't been mentioned, against a Holland side who will certainly be competing to win the tournament. Indeed, we could've won it, and were on course to doing so, until their late equaliser!

Thanks for that. As I said, we'll see what happens. TBH, things have taken so much time now, I'm happy to wait for the *right* man. and I think that him (and Maloney) would be those right men.
I've accepted that we've got a major rebuilding job to do, so am happy for some sacrifices to be made to ensure that the right people are in place, and the right foundations are set for the future, rather than just going for anyone simply because they're more easily available:)
In that respect, I'd rather Celtic pursued Ange and had the patience to see it through, *as long* as they get him in the end!

he is kinda the the diametric opposite of gerard. no-one has heard of him but plenty of experience. gerard everyone had heard of him but no experience..;)
Looking currently like he is getting kennedy and strachan as assistants(whether he wants them or not), and by looks of it, Griffiths too
YAASSS... Griffo signs on for another year: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/leigh-griffiths-stays-celtic-ange-24436584?utm_source=daily_record_newsletter&utm_campaign=celtic_newsletter2&utm_medium=email
That could be one of the best signings we'll make this summer, as an fit (and he's working on that now) and on-form Leigh Griffiths is one of the best natural goalscorers, never mind in Scotland, but in the UK! That's probably saved us a few million quid, although we still need another striker, once Ajeti and Klimala are punted out.
I also think that Edouard will stay, and run out his contract, so he's a free agent next season, and that would also be another massive boost!:)
Looking forward now to see what exciting new player big Ange will be signing in the next few weeks, before our first CL qualifier!!

you signed a big cb from sheff wed yesterday i think. a big lumb by looks of him.:)
we have signed no-one bar the ones we knew about from last season. sakala and the big dm from bournemouth. I also read thad Gers now have the more valuable squad of the 2 sides. first time for a long time..;)
Ah yes, Osaze Urhoghide, a gid Glesga boay!:D

Didn't you know he's the new Bobo Balde!
As for the last bit, given the current paucity of players and state of our squad, that's hardly any claim to fame!:ner:;)
We'll reassess that situation when big Ange has finished his business in the transfer market, and also discover whether the likes of Edouard, Barkas and Ajer are staying or not.
Marco.
Rangers have completed the signing of former Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram (27)on a three-year contract. He is currently valued at £6.3m on transfermarket so a great free transfer option.
