I can honestly said there's not much out there that i've listened to that i've not like some aspects of apart from Heresy II...

Fair enough, and that goes for me too.

I even liked aspects of the Heresy II - a real dynamic bouncy enthusiasm to the sound, even if it was horribly coloured.

Don't get me wrong - I really enjoy what Harbeths do well (to my ears) but I just can't get on with what I hear as the underlying tedium of the presentation, and I would choose not to live with that.

Life's too short for boring hifi!

I've had lots of kit that I really enjoyed that was obviously flawed.
You just have to choose the compromises that you are happy with.

The 'spang' of a plucked note, say, is there (the detail) but not the dynamic verve that drives it (the pizzaz).
Yes, they are detailed. But for me they lack too much of the underlying dynamic drive that brings music to life.

Fairy muff... However, when I was in Greg's room, there was some fairly simple solo cello, violin, etc, being played - nothing which required "pizzaz" - and it sounded extremely realistic (I listen to a lot of real instruments being played, so I know how they are supposed to sound).

Perhaps it's different when the music is more demanding, which then shows up their lack of "dynamic drive"? It would've been interesting to have heard them reproduce Shossy's 10th!!
