With the digital subscription, every review will link to iTunes. I think Gramophone can be considered as truly dumbed-down now. Such a pity. Compton McKenzie will be turning in his grave.

Unusually, the CD sounded better.
What a great performance and fine sq, listening twice was no hardship at all!

So do I. It may not be purist but I like the dynamic range of a piano compared with the harpsichord.

Yep, I have to agree. I was not a fan of the young Perahia - but he has matured wonderfully - his Goldberg Variations is as good as anyone's, I reckon.
