having said that, my last foray into anti-stat brushes was the 'acoustat' (or some such) one that comes with a cable that you attach to an earthing point - and it still charged the records rather than otherwise ...

Barry's advice is spot on, so definitely do that, but the Blue Horizon brush is the first 'basic' record cleaning brush I've used which doesn't charge records with static, whether you touch a metal part of the T/T with one hand or not, which none of the other brushes I've used, Goldrings or Deccas, or anything else did (apart from the Furutech SK2, which is designed for that purpose).now, I wish I'd thought / known of that before ... !
