It certainly is no slouch. It has that MC quality of transparency (well almost) and it would be difficult to say it was either a MM or MC in a blind listening test, IMHO. It compares very well with much more expensive carts IMLE.

Well yes, around 60 smackeroos. Of course you could always paint it yourself, after removing it. Or ask your local, friendly paint shop, if you have one, to paint if for you.
