Sort of, in extremis. ADP are renowned for microtonal (smaller than a semitone) compositions. Incredibly complex and even more complicated to play.

Hard to describe, as it bounces from genre to genre, Kelsey is a singer-songwriter and cellist, but there’s all sorts in here, very atmospheric and complex, and who doesn’t love the cello? Answers on a postcard…

I rarely play The The, simply because I played them so much in the 80’s, Infected especially, but would agree Mind Bomb would be my less played of these two and Soul Mining. Strangely I’ve never really tried his later stuff, must do that.

You know when a new film hits the cinemas, and people rave about it, so you go and see it and wonder what all the fuss is about?

Well, for me the opposite happened with 'Ensoulment'. I saw some rather negative views of it, and so held off buying it. Then at the back end of last year HMV were selling the vinyl copies super cheap, so I took a punt. And I really liked it, probably because I wasn't expecting much. Oh, and the pressing and sound quality is top notch I think.

Time to squeeze in one more, this is an upgraded (3 additional tracks) of Faouzia’s November release, Film Noir.

Another one that’s hard to describe, but I can already tell is going to be a favourite after playing it last night and again now.

Moroccan-Canadian Faouzia (no, I don’t know how to pronounce her name - Fay-oozier?) has a wonderful voice, and the songs are (perhaps sometimes overly) dramatic, but extremely “hooky.”
