Good choice Tim - looks like we had "the same thing on our minds".Yes, I probably am showing my age, but I don't care: I saw her play at University, which was over 50 years ago.
(I have also seen The Groundhogs play, but can't remember when or where: now that is a sign of old age!)

I saw them at The Roundhouse mid 70s, can't remember exactly when, must have been around 75 I think, as I left home in 76 and my concert days were over for quite a few years after that. Only saw them once and never saw Jo-Ann Kelly.Originally Posted by Barry

My wife has just returned from a business trip that took in New Orlean.
A haul of three fairly trad CDs for me:
A really rather impressive Charlie Gabriel first solo sax album “Eighty Nine”.
Preservation Brass “For Fat Man” and Preservation Hall Jazz Band “That’s It”. Fairly traditional, touristy trad NO jazz, but none the worse for that.
Separates Systems:
(1) Holo Audio Red into Matrix Audio DDC and Mark Levinson No 37 CDT into Mark Levinson No360S DAC into Krell KRC-2 preamp, B&O 8000 active speakers;
(2) Innuos Zen Mk2 and Phoenix USB reclocker into (temporarily) Meridian Explorer Mk2 DAC into Accuphase E-207 into Haycross Audio H/A 3/6 speakers.
(3) Homebrew PC with Euphony software into T+A DAC 8 into Braun A2, P1, CD3, C1 and T1 into Kef Corellis.
All fed by Roon Nucleus.

I used to find Neil Young's voice thin and whiney. For ages I couldn't stand listening to him, then I had a sudden volte face and now have a dozen or so of his CDs.
Still dislike his 'grunge' period though.

1954
Bethlehem released The Charlie Mariano Quartet in 1954 when altoist Charlie Mariano was at the prime of his bebop period. Mariano, whose alto tone mixes together Benny Carter and Charlie Parker, is accompanied by a quiet and supportive rhythm section comprised of pianist John Williams, bassist Max Bennett, and drummer Mel Lewis. Switching to tenor on four of the dozen selections, Mariano sounds in excellent form on ten standards, a blues, and his own "Floormat." A swinging cool bop date.

Not too bad, but I have a bit of a problem with Weather Report - I find Jaco Pastorius tends to dominate the act. Saw them live in London many years ago and thought the same.
