    Default Car boot/charity shop bargains

I could have sworn we had a thread for this but I can't find it. Any components, records or CDs you pick up for a bargain.

Here's my starter for 10 nothing great but at 4 for £1 it's just tempting to buy things you wouldn't normally listen to. I would have bought the Marillion for £1 or more of course, and the Vangelis (although I already have it but at this price I thought why not get a reserve copy).

The guy looking when I arrived had picked up 2 nice jazz albums which was frustrating. He didn't even bother getting 2 more for nothing. No hard feelings though he obviously liked them I had a quick chat with him. He told me this Salt and Pepa album was a US release and as I remember Push It from the charts I thought why not.

Yes - we did have a previous thread: https://theartofsound.net/forum/show...ght=Boot+sales , but that too replaced an earlier thread.

Don't worry, a new thread is OK. I have that 'Vangelis - Themes' CD as well: it's a good compilation.

I’ve never seen any “proper” hifi components or speakers at the boot sales, maybe I don’t get there early enough? Plenty of Bush mini systems and the like. Don’t bother looking through the vinyl anymore - got all the Val Doonican LPs I need now. [emoji846]

I have seen some "proper" hi-fi components for sale at boot sales, but they were always in poor condition.

We have a local one which is less than a mile away. It no longer holds any interest for me, but my partner loves it.

Same here. In fact the best hifi components I ever saw at a car boot was a few years ago, a pair of Ditton 15XRs and a Rotel RP1000 direct drive t/t, both in good condition, going for £30 each. How do I know all this? Because it was me selling them What was I thinking?

Rubbish car boot this morning. Got Bryan Ferry's "Bete Noire" (ok I suppose), and "Paranoid and Sunburnt" by Skunk Anansie. I thought I might like it, but the 15 minute drive home was enough to tell me I'm not going to be a Skunk Anansie fan. Not bad, just not my kind of thing.

Had a walk around the massive Chirk Airfield car boot yesterday morning.
There were a couple of hi-fi units there, amplifiers and receivers, but old stuff.

I need a long RCA lead for a rearrangement and managed to find a 10m Van Damme pro grade silver plated lead for £5.
Will make a good 5m pair.
I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

I think the last audio-related item I bought at a boot sale was a cable. Actually it was an RGB composite video cable, I bought for about £5 as all three coaxial cables were 75Ohm impedance, and I separated them to use as audio and digital cables. The metal phono plugs fitted were of good quality.
