I never thought Skins were smart - it was the Mods who had style. I predate both those tribes: born too late to be a Beatnik, and too late to be a Hippy; even then my hair was never longer than shoulder length.

Skins certainly looked smart compared to me, with my Afghan coat - that thing was super-scruffy and smelled awful when it got wet. Patchouli oil went some way towards overcoming that.

My mum once asked me if I was smoking drugs, as there was a couple of 'hippies' who used to come in her corner shop who smelled the same. Then there was my trenchcoat - some bird down the pub tipped a bottle of Patchouli onto it, and after that my coat was banned from work as the smell offended the old dears who worked there.

I always liked the smell though - you never come across it these days, maybe it was of its time.

I used to wear patchouli oil when I was a goth but I remember someone older than me telling me it was a hippy smell as they used it to cover up the smell of cannabis. I still notice it occasionally and it always brings back memories of my late teens.

I only wear it for work or for nights out. So at the moment, never.

I still use Brut and Old Spice, as well my other half has no sense of smell.

Brut, Old Spice and you wear a Fossil watch - how appropriate!

Really hard to photograph, might work better in natural light tomorrow, but got back from London to my first Citizen. Really good nick, and the dial looks black but very dark brown in certain angles. Very pleased for £35.47, delivered, from India!
