    Default Anyone keen on watches?

So, number 3 arrived today, and likely the most controversial of my purchases! It looks 60’s or 70’s, is manual wind and by a company that I had never heard of - Samuray - and it appears no one else has ever heard of them either on the internet, apart from a couple of references and YouTube video of a “jump watch” which also had 17 jewels and professes to be Swiss made. Apart from the style, it was the colour that got me…

(I have a couple of tie sets it will go lovely with!)

Not sure about the bracelet, I’ve a couple with the elasticated metal band that I don’t find very comfortable. Have an old 90’s watch in the “graveyard” that the bracelet may work with it. Time to get the tools out and have a look at the movement, too. (£40 of eBay if you’re wondering how much I squandered on this monstrosity! )

No clues on the back or movement…

(The only inscription on the movement is “17 SEVENTEEN JEWELS”)

Was a bit of a faff changing the bracelet over, but this Accurist one looks much better, I think?

Overall, I am very pleased with it, is keeping good time and is certainly unusual.

I like it although I would keep the original bracelet on it.

Going to sound like Barry now but I’d have gone with a black leather strap.

    A similarly coloured Citizen.

I like the colour of that Orient, more subtle! I see what you mean about a black leather strap, might give that a try.

Well spotted, got a bit of a Citizen fetish going on at the moment.

Another purple watch with supplied strap, not sure about this combo?

Never owned a Citizen or an Orient - that will be changing soon!

Meanwhile, today’s unexpected delivery #4 - ordered from eBay last Saturday, and sent from Canada - wow, that was quick!

Like the Roamer, this one is far from an original and is a modded frankenwatch, but my goodness, it is lovely, the picture doesn’t do it justice.

So that’s brown sorted. Oh wait, I don’t have a brown tie set or even a brown suit! Best get shopping again!
