been a fan since that came out and like pretty much everything he did since even the Batman soundtrack, but Purple Rain is still the only one of his I've got.

Just don't ever see his albums in the second hand shops.

There’s not a bad track on it. The film is great, too, albeit a cheese fest! I do have my original vinyl copy and CD “upgrade” - inevitably there’s a 2015 remaster “Deluxe” edition but have never tried that, not usually a fan of those type of releases. Maybe I should. I have a few others, but a lot of gaps. We must be due a prince biopic?

I finished last night on some Penguin Cafe Orchestra per Barry’s helpful reminder, and next in the alphabetical list comes this, so, why not.

Another one not played in eons - considering it is older than me the recording is fantastic, as is the production and of course, the performances.

There’s not a bad track on it. The film is great, too, albeit a cheese fest! I'm not keen on rock biopics have to say. 'The Doors' is one of the worst things I ever saw.

A mate played me 'Diamonds And Pearls' and I thought 'must get that.' That was almost 40 years ago!

Sometimes think if I lived to be a thousand there's still a lot of stuff I wouldn't get around to.

Doesn’t look like the movie is available to stream free on any of the platforms, I certainly don’t ever remember seeing it on broadcast TV. I am sure I have it on DVD but they’re all in the loft, I will have to check. That said, it’s only £7.99 in 4k on Apple so that would save a trip up the ladder to the freezing cold! I had it on VHS, wore out this part of the tape: [emoji846]

Agree with you regarding the Doors biopic film. Oliver Stone did a good job with the band performing live, but the rest was clichéd fantasy: "sex drugs and rock and roll". Disappointing!

Released exactly ten years ago today, on his 69th birthday, two days before his passing. Where did that ten years go?
Only played this once, I found it a difficult listen. Giving it a second go now, it still sounds like his death on vinyl.

I agree completely. I played just side one and left it at that.

Starting today with this one - not a big fan of his later stuff, but this I do like. I say 'later', but it's 22 years old now!
