Indeed That's going to be cured in the not too distant future, along with shelves for books etc, etc, etc. I do have vinyl obviously, my collection is just much smaller than my CD collection.

There's a lot more than that

As i mentioned, i don't watch any TV. Not worth paying a license fee for IMO.

Give me music & films, documentaries etc & a daily paper & i'm perfectly happy
    Bests, Mark

You mean you missed UFO? Ah, silly me They are on another shelf It extends to the right quite a bit more. Lots more after "S" after all...

You did indeed spot Space 1999 Either you happen to have it yourself or you know someone else who's got it! No-one has that good eyesight having just taken a look myself

I use DJ flight cases for the last 2 or 3 years...all shelf room is taken..I must have approaching 4500 CD's and being honest there are quite a few that will nevr be played ever again. I don't have them in any order as such and it can be a right B*****d trying to find a specific disc. Also aroun 3000 LP's which also aren't indexed. same problem as the latter.

If you listened constantly for a year, without a break or sleep, you still probably wouldn't get through everything... Frightening, really!

Nice one Alex, I'm at the point now where I have to do something to slim down my collections storage space and yours looks a great idea. Do you still buy the plastic sleeves in Tesco?

As I seem to be going over to file based audio, storing them away seems a sensible option. I do catalogue them all in a spreadsheet too, but I'm not too worried about album art on the PC. I used to be very picky about it, scanning CD covers if the art wasn't right on-line, but if I did that now I would probably be scanning until I got my bus pass!

Maybe I should show your method to my best mate in China..... he's on the way to 5,000 CD's and his whole lounge is getting near the point of being shelved and shortly he will have to start going up the side of the stairs! His DVD and book collection is ridiculous too, taking up the second floor of his 3 storey house.......... must drive his wife nuts

(oh, it's alphabetical and chronological here too - is there any other way )
