And that segued nicely both alphabetically and sonically into…

Sting - Brand New Day (1999)

I feel Sting had lost his cool by then? He was definitely cool in the Police/Quadrophenia era but he seems to be one of those artists not taken so seriously these days, or maybe that’s just me. (A bit like Bono…). Anyway, it’s not been played often or recently, but I actually really enjoyed it. Might dig out Ten Summoners Tales on vinyl later for a proper retro fix.

And now we come to The Stranglers - I don’t have any of their studio albums on CD/FLAC, only vinyl, but I do have this one:

They certainly wrote and played some great tunes.

Street, The are next - 2002’s debut, Original Pirate Material

Another one I played a lot when it came out but not played all the way through in years. Bit of a masterpiece, really, and very original (pun intended) at the time. I have A Grand Don’t Come For Free, but never anything since - might have to check out the more recent releases.

That’s probably it for today, 2 more “St” bands to go…. Any guesses?
