Debut from the then 3 sisters from Watford, with their indie folk harmonies. Pleasant enough, but I can’t have been that bowled over as I haven’t got any of their subsequent albums.

Now this is proper folk music…. My Mum & Dad always had these playing when I was a kid. Two Magicians was my favourite, sadly not on this compilation but I do have it on a vinyl album somewhere I think.

I know what you mean. In some cases it's not obvious from looking at the cover, or the spine or even on the CD or LP. There have been a few mis-filings in my collection because of that.

They weren't a bad group. A rival to Fairport Convention, who IMHO were better, that is until Dave Sawbrick joined and tended to dominate the group and influence its direction.Now this is proper folk music…. I saw Maddy Prior duet with June Tabor when they were the 'Silly Sisters'. Sadly I was not impressed.

I used to have a few of their albums, and they were a great live band. I still have my 1972 copy of Argus, although its been well played.That, and 'Live Dates', are fine Wishbone Ash recordings.
