CBAT is my favourite Steely Dan album. It has personality whereas after that I feel that the sophistication and perfectionism make them too sterile. Dirty Work is understatedly great.

Now then, we all know criticising Steely Dan is off limits on this site.

This gets a spin every now and then, absolutely love it, but I have for some reason never listened to any of their subsequent albums. Howard Jones is another, where I have (and love) Humans Lib but for some reason, never explored anything since. Frighteningly, these are 40 and 41 years old respectively! How did that happen!?

Latin Quarter - Modern Times (1985)

This came out when I had my LP12, which played 33rpm only. So no 45rpm singles. I really liked "Radio Africa", so I went out and bought the album. Never really got on with the rest of it. Maybe I should give it a spin, it's been a while, maybe I've grown into it.

    This one next:
