Lineker is apparently resigning from the BBC - I'll be able to start watching Match Of The Day again. Good times.

He was already leaving MOTD apart from World Cup and FA Cup, but is apparently now completely leaving after posting something ill advised on social media, again...

I've never known where my cat hails from, but now I suspect she might be Liverpudlian. I've just put her food in her dish, and I called her in by shouting "chicken!" with a scouse accent, and she flew into the kitchen like she'd been shot out of a cannon.
She might even be an Everton supporter, that would explain her beaten-down but hopeful resting face.

No, your cat's too normal to be an Evertonian.
Probably it has heard scousers saying chicken on the telly? They're showing 'Bread' again at the moment.

I’ve started suffering with an intermittent but really annoying “fluttering” in my right ear drum. Do It Yourself doctoring on the web (I’m a man, why would I go to a real GP?) suggests it might be a form of tinitus, which I am really hoping not but I suspect as a man of a certain age and having abused my hearing for decades is probably likely.
It could be muscle spasms, so the optimistic hope is that it will go away. Has anyone else had this, and did it sort itself out? It’s verging on painful at points with certain frequencies, but I guess I will get used to it or drag myself to the quack if it doesn’t go of its own accord.

My money is on it being a muscle spasm - I have the same kind of thing happening in my left ear occasionally, and it is quite distinct from the tinnitus which I also have. The tinnitus sound just seems to live in my head, while the muted 'thudding' is more localised. If you do see your doctor about it let us know how you went on - I'm curious, but not enough to pick up the phone and make an appointment
Might just need some irrigation (I don't think anyone does syringing any more).

Cheers Steve, I will see how it goes! Often these minor ailments do sort themselves out, and Dr. Google doesn’t suggest it will bring about my imminent demise. Unless of course I don’t hear the number 8 bus as I am crossing the road.
