    Bargain!
“Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”

    Made me laugh!

My Landy is in the garage being recommissioned - left her off the road for 18 months (silly!) and now needs a few bits sorting as well as MOT, but looking forward to getting her back on the road - essential as daughter wants me to take her to her leavers Prom (yes, there is such a think in the UK...) next month in "Maggie".

Maggie MOT’d, taxed and insured and back on the road, spent the day washing her and Sue cleaned inside, getting ready for the prom….

Rugged looking and Safari-ready - perfect for a leavers' Prom, which is basically the same thing

Deceptively roomy too - in the 70s nine of us went for a two week holiday round Scotland in an identical size and shape Landy. Probably wouldn't get away with it these days, especially with the clouds of weed smoke in its wake.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: KEF Reference 3, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Arcam A75 integrated, Monitor Audio R852 MD speakers
    A/V:
LG OLED65 G56LS, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL T9i sub.

This was at the rail thing yesterday, an SS1 Fixed Head Coupe, absolutely gorgeous in my view. SS cars (Swallow Sidecar Company) became Jaguar in 1945, not least that the name had seriously bad connotations I suspect.

This is their emblem at the time - you can see why perhaps in 1945 changing the name to Jaguar seemed a good idea!

The SS Jaguar 100 is a seriously good looking car, too. They don't make them like they used to! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Cars
