The use of fonts for the manufacturer's name is IMO different to that used for the legends of the controls (knobs, push buttons and switches).
The font of the manufacturer’s name can't be changed (though I still dislike italic script), whereas the control legends IMO ought to be in san-serif font, such as Ariel.
With the exception of my Myajima SUT, where the manufacturer’s name is written in a more elaborate style, the rest of my gear uses san-serif font.

The font Marantz used was Metropolis, and was fine for their company logo. But when it comes to typeface choice for functions I'm with Barry - Ariel or Helvetica would be my preferred choice.
I'm a bit old fashioned that way - if a design is difficult to read, that design has failed. The Marantz graphics are ok in that regard, but I've seen Script faces like 'Fashion Script' and also 'Old English Text' used in caps-only, and that is just wrong.
