I'm sure like most of us on here, I don't pay much attention to the "Top 40" charts these days, but I spotted in a news feed that Lola Young has got to number one with "Messy" - 43 weeks after it was first released. Apparently, she covered "Together in Electric Dreams" for the John Lewis Christmas advert, which I haven't seen. Anyway, so giving it a spin via Tidal. It's pretty good so far, actually.
As long as she can get through the album without resorting to autotune that'll make a nice change from the usual chart cack.

Before Christmas Anita's lad asked me what I'd like for Christmas, and I said "How about that album by Charli XCX?" Then a few days later I heard the album at a mates, and it was awful. I got back to Anita's lad saying don't bother getting me that album, turns out I was too late, he'd already got it. Not only that, instead of getting the CD it was a deluxe edition double album on vinyl, and must have cost a fortune So now I have to pretend it's grown on me and quite good after all.

I think I'll ask for socks next year.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

Unless on vinyl, I don't actually have any of her albums, but sad to hear of her death.

Another one I have not played in a long time. The whole album is fabulous.
