Not sure an EV would fair very well not being used either?

One thing I would say though, is do you really need to own a car? If you look at the number of journeys you do and length, it might be cheaper and easier to use taxis locally, with trains added if you’re going any distance. There are also some car sharing schemes around, not sure if you have any near you.

I’m giving up my “daily driver” now I am home-based and will use my Land Rover for pottering locally and to the station to get trains when I need to.

yeah alex i did consider that but have great difficulty in getting into a passenger side due to to left hip. its easier on drivers side.. if back is high enough, but not too high, i can sometimes go behind driver.

buses are out; i cant get on and i live out of town on own so without a car im locked in house period...

apparently you just plug it in and leave it. if your not using much then dont fully charge it. it will save me a lot of money too so will be able to get a foldup scooter for back quicker too. ive said once the other car is cancelled i will order one. also a big saving on fuel.

it was a hyundai kona. if you get past the hard plastics, then otherwise its ok inside. not anywhre near the nissans level, but most importantly the seats felt very good and my head goes in and out easily. its got a fair turn of speed in sport mode too. think its about same price for the top model although im going for one level down, but my controbution is much less so im quids in before we consider fuel. it will do 250 on a charge in winter, and a fair bit more in summer.

i saw one in the showroom.. nice motor but a bit lower; too low for me

sounds like the right choice.

there is a lot of hard plastics in the kona, although its not overly uncommon in ev's im told. keeping price down i guess. if it were a petrol car i would have dismissed it, although tbh how often do you touch the dash etc. so at least it will wear well.

Plus you'll only use it for short trips so what does it matter? If you have to spend hours every day in the thing only then it's important.

certainly for timebeing it will be. the dash electronics are colourful so it all helps. just have to wait see if he manages to get nissan cancelled.

Which? magazine rated the Kona ev really highly. Hope you get sorted with the Nissan.
