My little Dot plugged into powered Roth speakers in the kitchen is so convenient - I use Spotify through it rather than Amazon music, but it’s just so handy when cooking to be able to change volume, skip tracks, set timers etc. I don’t really care if it records everything I say (which I am sure it doesn’t) my life is so boring no one would be very interested!

Same here Alex, they can record anything they like from me, of course it doesn't happen, but they will fall asleep listening to my day to day. These conspiracy theories are mad as fish. Imagine trying to listen to every household, workplace 24/7. Impossible. I'm going to try my Echo plugged into my main system from the output on it. We'll see how it goes.

It profiles you for marketing purposes. Based on key word it hears and the stuff you ask it to do.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

So don't mention the words: "porn"; "AK47"; "kalashnikov", or "semtex"!

I bet you're just as likely to be profiled by typing those words on a public forum.

So my Mrs one ,is going to be portable
Hmm, I'll look into that one - we have one Echo and two Dots!

Kitchen one is connected to a Bluetooth speaker, and first thing I do, before putting the kettle on or feeding the cat, is to tell Alexa to play radio 2. Tbh, I was fine just switching on the radio. Another Dot is connected to my Amptastic Mini one into some Celestion 5's, and is plenty good enough for "discovery" or hoovering music. The big Alexa is in grandkid's bedroom and only plays "Disney lullabies".

Not worried about them eavesdropping, my life really isn't that interesting.

Oh yes, just as likely, ie not at all likely. We can choose to go through life avoiding this stuff for fear of being "profiled", or just not give a shit and just carry on. I choose the latter, and when it eventually bites me on the arse I'll come on here for a good old moan, and you'll all get to say "Well we did warn you"

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
